So Cradle AU where the gang all time travels, I’m thinking that Lindon should split his core more than once. The problem there is, you then have a Core that’s double the size. So what do you do? Split it again. Now you have four Cores! What to do with them though, that is the question? My thought when gaining a third Core was definitely putting the Path Of The King’s Key in there via the hijinks and shenanigans of the combination of Lindon’s Box Of The King’s Key, Reigan Shen’s Remnant*, Sacred Valley’s Suppression Field, every single Spirit Seal in Sacred Valley. I think the Goldsign should be a white-gold lion’s tail, or maybe a pair of lion ears for scritches, and the Path has a truly excellent synergy with the Void Icon, so no loss there.
“But what about the fourth Core” I hear you cry! Worry not my dear audience that I’ve chained in the basement, there’s as solution! I went back and forth on this for quite some time, I initially wanted an unique Path based off the Path Of The Last Oath, where with the addition of Hunger Madra, Lindon could Consume from other people, and then replicate them Labyrinth style. However, I had an entirely different though. I still wanted Hunger Madra in there somewhere, so that meant either the Path Of The Hungry Deep, or a Dreadgod Cult Path.
:readmore:
The Path Of The Hungry Deep is out, is just doesn’t fit Lindon at all and has no obvious or inobvious connection to the Void Icon, while adding not a great deal to Lindon’s combat style. Redmoon Hall has no specific Path (although adding a Blood Shadow to Lindon’s repertoire is an entirely different though we’ll come back to later). Abyssal Palace appears to have a standardised Path (although it remains unnamed), but it doesn’t seem like a good fit on a personal level (although replicating the principles of the omnidirectional Striker Technique could be useful), nor does it’s execution seem to fit with the Void Icon.
The Silent Servants are weird. They seems to have a standard Path rather than a standardised Path, and it’s not a requirement to travel it to join. But they all so something to gain a halo Goldsign except for the ones who don’t? I don’t know, the only Dreadgod Cult that gets a serious look in is Redmoon Hall, I’m working with scraps I tell ya! Anyway, we know for a fact that at least some of them have a halo as a Goldsign, and we know that at least one of them follows a Path based around the Silent King’s techniques, so you’d think they’d be perfect right? The illusions fit Lindon, it works as a homage to his clan (who don’t deserve it but anyway), the Dream Madra could even help Dross which is always a win! It’s perfect right? Actually I’d say not. Projecting illusions is more Dross’s schtick, and he does it really well. Having two illusion based systems seems redundant, and takes enemies’ precious Dream Aura/Madra into one of Lindon’s Cores and not to whom such tribute is owed. And that’s terrible.
So last but not least, the Stormcaller Sect. Now hear me out on this one. The only Dreadgod Cult with a somewhat explored, standardised Path, it’s a Path of Lightning and Hunger Madra. We don’t know enough about Abyssal Palace nor the Silent Servant’s Paths to say the same, but I feel as though it would have been mentioned if they also used Hunger Madra. It provides an excellent set of Techniques, including a Ruler Technique in Harbinger Of The Storm with good area control, something that both Twin Stars & Blackflame lack, and a long range version of the Consume Technique with the Dragonblood Thunderbolt (Striker/Forger). The additional unnamed Striker Technique that seems to replicate the Weeping Dragon’s breath attack is good as well, although we can only assume about the unknown unelaborated Enforcer Technique The Hunger Madra in the Path harmonises well with the consumption aspect of the Void Icon (as already proven) and the Lightning Madra could fit well with the destructive aspect of the Void Icon (along with Pure, Destruction & Fire Madras in Lindon’s other Cores).
In addition, it gives Lindon the greater potential to access a third Icon in addition to the Void and Hammer, the Dragon Icon. I think that considering how much Lindon builds ‘The Dragon Advances’ into his personal philosophy, it’s a reasonable fit. Plus I think it’s cool. It also gives us a nice parallel with Yerin on the drawing power from a Dreadgod Forged Technique.

Path of the Harmonic Garden
The Path of the Harmonic Garden is a difficult but rewarding path. Many set out to follow this Path, seeking its power, but fail to maintain the patient balance required to tread it. Those who cultivate their path with exactness go on to become some of the greatest refiners, wanderers, and producers on Cradle. Those whose impatience gets the better of them ruin their foundation, and become lesser life artists.
A slow path by almost all measurements, successful practitioners along this path often do not reach Gold until their late twenties and spend significant time at Copper, refining their madra and tending to their garden.
While initially slow and weak, the Path of the Harmonic Garden eventually creates sacred artists capable of maintaining the finest sources for refining, and possessed of the strength to defend them.
Harmonic Garden Madra is composed predominantly of life aura before all else and the difficulty of this path lies in balancing the scale between this overwhelming life aura and the multiple other lesser aspects of vital aura. Earth, water, and light aura must be harmonized with each other as well as balanced against life. It is no simple task.
Artists on the Path of the Harmonic Garden begin tending the earth from a young age, cultivating, creating, and maintaining a space in which they will train their sacred arts, and cycle vital aura into madra. Tending to the garden allows them to balance the vital aura in which they cycle to their needs.
The cycling method followed on this path is known as the Seasons Renewing Cycle. It is designed to allow the core to wax and wane in its absorption of vital aura, preventing the core from adopting too strongly to one balance of madra. Through this cycling method, Harmonic Garden artists bring their core to the peak of Copper and back repeatedly until they are satisfied with the balance of aura represented in their madra.
While cultivating their garden is designed to generate the proper balance of aura for cycling, it also serves to create an ideal location for the formation of Sylvan Loamseeds. These natural spirits thrive in the blend of vital aura found in a successful balanced garden and their appearance is often used as a sign that an artist has achieved a truly harmonic space and is ready to advance to Iron.
From there, cultivation now includes not only the garden space, but the Loamseeds as well, tending to their growth and preparing them for the next step in advancement. At Jade, some artists on this path enter into a contract with whichever Loamseed has grown most successfully, and the two advance together as they tend to their garden. For others, the natural spirit is not contracted with for advancement, but continually fed and strengthened, until it is absorbed at the peak of Jade in order to advance to Lowgold.
Due to the nature of natural spirits, there is no one Goldsign for the Path of the Harmonic Garden -some have no Goldsign, while other signs have been as varied as living vines twined around the arms, flowers growing from the hair, or moss covered skin.
Techniques:
Enforcer: The Deeproot Forest enforcer technique anchors the body to the vital aura of the living earth, strengthening the sacred artists skin to resist attacks, allowing them to withstand great blows without moving, and enhancing their ability to draw upon vital aura to replenish their cores and heal their bodies.
Striker: The Eternal Spring appears as bright flecks of vibrant green madra that can burrow into a seed or plant to accelerate its growth.
Ruler: The Gardeners Hand technique harnesses the vital aura inside of plants, bending them to the control of the sacred artist.
Forger: The Wellspring is a forged spike of madra, that when driven into the ground releases beneficial madra into the soil, enhancing and revitalizing even the poorest dirt.
Outside of combat, practitioners of the Harmonic Garden are often renowned refiners due to the quality of their ingredients. Those that choose not to refine themselves are still highly sought after for that same quality of their harvests. The Eternal Spring can be used sparingly to accelerate the growth of a plant without damaging its ability to produce mystical properties, while the Gardeners Hand guides root and limb alike to both aesthetic perfection and maximum function. The Wellspring is not often used within the bounds of a Harmonic Garden, but can be sold, traded, or gifted to others to boost the productivity of farms and orchards. At the Lord level, soulfire and experience greatly expand the avenues open to the sacred artist, with new plants to cultivate that require different blends of aura to thrive in.
Whether in defending their territories, or defending their lives, combat is no stranger to those on the Path of the Harmonic Garden. Many of these artists will roam far and wide seeking rare seeds to add to their collections, and danger is always around in both the wild and civilized places of Cradle. It is unlikely to find a practitioner on this path without a collection of seeds on their person that they can use to fight.
Thorny vines can explode outward from one of these sacred artists at a moment's notice, guided by the Gardener’s Hand to reach out, grasp, and restrain. A scattered toss of the Eternal Spring can change the shape of a battlefield in an instant, as dormant seeds sprout anew, sending brambles and trees shooting to the sky, each one a potential tool to trip or ensnare an opponent. Then there are the rarer plants in the arsenal of the Gardener; those that produce caustic bulbs to be thrown, those whose flowers produce sickly aromas that lull into sleep, those whose leaves cut like razors. All the while the Deeproot Forest protects and heals the sacred artist, as well as the plants they push their enforcement into.
Remnants of this path look closer to the plants they tend to than the people they once were, often appearing like a man shaped tree, covered in vines. Like most remnants, they tend to act in accordance with the patterns they followed in life. If a sacred artist dies near their Garden, their remnant is likely to continue to defend and care for it as best they can. Those that die while away from their homes are likely to wander through nature, caring for and cultivating it as they go, always looking for the balance they lost.

The Path of the Undying Star
Overview
The Path of the Dying Star is an artificially created Light/Sword path that now is practised by one Artist. It was created by the Herald of the Everburning Heart, who then taught it to their disciple, now known as the Sage of the Dying Star. The path focuses on total annihilation, and leaves little room for mercy in its techniques.
Light-scored Iron body
Explanation:
The Light-Scorched Iron Body teaches discipline and control to members of the Everburning Heart Sect. It is the most common Iron Body within the sect, and has numerous benefits for the various paths anyone within may practise. It increases the Artist’s resilience to heat, as well as nullifying the sound of their movements.
Cultivation
This Iron Body is quite particular in its cultivation methods, as it requires the Artist to undergo a thorough ritual in their sect. Before the ritual, the artist must train their agility throughout Copper, and during the ritual they will be washed in the solar light of the Veiled Serpent.
Drawbacks
Due to how intense the ritual for this body is, as a result, the Artist’s skin is burned beyond recognition, and they will be in immense pain until they advance to Jade. It’s common for sect members to cover themselves completely in bandages in order to hide their scarring.
Advancement to Gold
Sect members that have shown to be exceptional in talent were trusted to take care for a child of the Veiled Serpent. They are expected to form a bond and grow up with the wyrmling. When a Sacred Artist is ready to advance to gold, in another ritual, they kill the serpent they’ve raised and take on its remnant. Goldsigns often include things such as wings, extra limbs, scales, horns, and other draconic traits. Sect members who do not fulfil the requirements are sent on a journey in order to find their own remnant.
Star Icon
The Sage of the Dying Star reached their status after manifesting the Star Icon in a battle with the Everburning Heart Herald. This icon manifests the destructive power of stars, and is usually used to vaporise things to hell and back.
The Sage of the Dying Star
Morana, also known as the Sage of the Dying Star, was born into the Cult of the Everburning Heart as a child of prophecy. The Forgotten Tyrant foresaw the death of the Veiled Serpent and informed the cult of this fact. The prophecy Morana was written into was never true, and was only meant to be a reassurance for the worried cultists. Morana was adopted and raised by Everyn, the Herald of the Everburning Heart, and was treated as the blessed daughter of the cult’s prophet. Throughout her childhood she advanced quickly, and she began to see the truth behind the cult’s philosophies. She vowed to overthrow her adopted father and create the cult anew. When Morana was an Archlord, the end of all things came and she fought back against her ‘destined’ sacrifice, manifesting the Star Icon in the process. She was able to win the battle, but sustained major injuries, having to be taken into the hands of Lethe in order to heal.
Techniques
Striker:
Requiem of the Dying
The user expends all of their madra at once to create a burst of sharpened light. This light will try to vaporise anything it touches.
Enforcer:
Cloak of Sharpened Agility
Cover the sacred artist in golden light madra, increasing their speed drastically. Can be altered with sword madra in order to create a holy flame that cuts anyone that comes into contact with it.
Forger:
Ray of Hallowed Light
Creates a ball of light above the sacred artist that charges up light madra to then shoot out and burn an opponent. Can also be multiple smaller spheres.
Ruler:
Blinding Retribution
Harness light aura in order to increase the light-levels in a certain area, meant to blind other artists. Usually temporary.
Dance of Flowing Radiance
Draw sword aura in towards the user to then create a boom of luminescent blades, coming out in waves with the user in the centre.
Other:
Radiant Blades of the Damned (Striker/forger)
Creates two blades of sharpened light in the artist’s hands that dissipate when they lose contact with the artist. The artist can reform them almost immediately, and the technique can also be altered into smaller throwing knives of light and sword madra.

Repost from Instagram 👉@letterluxe_signs I had a lot of fun creating this hand painted and gold leaf sandwich board sign for the Boston Fire Dept. ladder 26. The Mission Hill area station was established in 1933.
I wanted to apply a vintage fire engine theme to the sign to peak the interest of the many passersby in the area.
Thanks to @jessegover who is a firefighter at the station and also one of the historian and aesthetic torch-carriers!
Support your local firefighters 👨‍🚒 🔥

I think I would adapt the Path Of The Cloud Hammer with Lightning Madra, maybe even Stormcaller Madra if I was feeling it. Tha’d be a cool combo; Force, Cloud, Lightning & Hunger. Hell yeah!
I wonder what the Goldsign would be? The Cloud Hammer Goldsign is a cloud about your head that reflects your mood, while the Stormcaller Goldsign is a set of lightning bands around your arms (I think it’s upper arm but don’t quote me), but I assume it would create two different Paths if you combined then in different orders.
