Hey! I was speaking to someone on Live Chat last week regarding old xkit continually reinstalling in Chrome for Windows. Confirmed the issue is that it needs to be removed on all Chrome installations where you've synced apps and settings I.e. ALL PCs

Quick ME2 question for you. For Tali's loyalty quest, what was your outcome?

I made a really pretty speech about why they didn't need evidence to not convict Tali of treason, about how her previous work for the Fleet proved her loyalty to them, about how she helped take down Saren and saved the galaxy and is generally amazing. I kind of yelled at them to appreciate her more, and then I yelled at them for involving her in their farce because the whole trial wasn't about her it was about the geth and retaking the homeworld and they should never have dragged her into this in the first place and they kind of all looked a bit chagrined and then voted to not exile her. 

And then Tali hugged me and I kind of exploded a bit. 

We didn't tell anyone about what her father did, though. She wanted to preserve his good name and didn't want his name stricken from every record ever and I honored her wishes and didn't even mention her dad to the Admirals. So all the admirals still think that Rael was a good guy. Which I mean, they're not wrong--he wasn't evil, just doing the wrong things for the right reasons.

But yeah, the big takeaway here is that I yelled at people until they appreciated Tali more. So, not that far off from what my real life has become.

Well, it was five am and I was bored as heck! The point of the ask meme was to have something to do, and that works better if you spend time writing five paragraphs explaining your answer in-depth instead of a quick one sentence,

Z. Can you understand the mindset and logic used by the opposite spiritual opinion? An atheist understanding the belief in a higher power and vice versa.

Yeah totally! Considering up till like a year ago I was total Mormon, I understand being religious. And now I’m kinda “well it’s not really relevant, I’ll just do my best to be good because that’s the right thing to do, and if God’s real hopefully he’ll appreciate that.” I guess I’m kinda agnostic? But yeah, I get not believing in any kind of god too. Some belief systems make more sense to me than others, so some have a more... empathetic understanding? But I try to respect-understand even the ones I could never see myself believing.

Y. Do looks mean anything to you? Don't lie, could you fall in love with someone you thought was ugly?

No not really and yes but also trick question that’s not how ugliness works.

So, scientifically, averageness and symmetry generally = prettiness, evolution wise you want someone who looks “normal”, right? No disease-caused disfigurations and whatever. So, the kind of people you see most often, on tv and in your family etc, the average of all that is what’s gonna look good at first glance. Of course it’s not totally that simple, and remember different things are average to different people, but. generally. there is sciencey stuff behind thinking people are pretty first time you look at them.

But, it doesn’t really matter how someone looks at first, once you get to know them they just look like themselves? And even if they’re like hella unsymmetrical and un-average, even if their face is all messed up, looking at them more will make it more average to you, y’know? One of my friends from church, she was like hella bullied in elementary school b/c her face was all weird, I don’t know what she had exactly but there was some name for it. And when I look objectively at her features, I can tell that they’re unusual... but she just looks like herself, not weird at all. In fact, when she got surgery to look more normal, she suddenly looked weird again, b/c the in-between wasn’t what I was used to... and then after another few hours of hanging out, she was just herself again! And she’s super great and normal and good and she just. looks like her great amazing self!

So, it’s artistically nice to look at pictures of aesthetically-pleasing strangers, and artistically neutral to look at “ugly” strangers, and maybe a bit uncomfortable to look at really unusual strangers, but when I actually get to know someone it doesn’t matter at all, they’re just themselves. That doesn’t even usually take long to happen, maybe a few hours of total conversation.

And beyond that, I figure if I love someone, they’re gonna be hella beautiful to me no matter what first-glance-aesthetics may say, b/c. they’re hella great and beautiful and I love them! You can’t objectively judge people you love or even people you see very often... but at the same time, first-glance judgement isn’t exactly objective either? There’s just no such thing, beauty is subjective and affected by a lot of things and it changes and it doesn’t really matter.

To be fair, who really thought Syl was dead? Szeth and Jasnah though? Could have saved one for the big reveal St the start of book 3...

we all knew syl was gonna come back, but it still counts as coming back. or at least as a half of a comeback. and anything more than two per book, even if it is a 1000 page book, is too many.

Damn right; plus the implication that someone's looks make them being ace better/worse - asexuals get treated like a 'waste' a lot, as if we're a resource going unused instead of people.
