mary, mary, tell me how your garden grows

mint :   does your muse view themself as virtuous   &   moral ?  what do these words mean to them ?

I was going to write an intricate meta post after having a good chat with a mutual a while ago regarding Roxy’s moral compass and how she navigates very complex moral perspectives. To start, having worked for The Organization for several years, the entity does not adhere to human standards of morals nor are these supposed morals confined to the humankind. Values such as kindness and compassion is paramount for a lot of the beings and Roxanne adheres to those values closely, thus, she can say that she is virtuous or moral. Although, the grey areas that she navigates may allow her to appear more morally ambiguous in a way that might disturb others with the rare occurrence that she exhibits cold and brutal pragmaticism. While Roxanne has a strong desire to protect the innocent, she understands that at times nature must take its course in order to upkeep the balance between the humans and the supernatural. 

Also, her sense of justice is best described as “restorative” meaning that one cannot take without giving back, or one must pay the price and make amends for their wrongdoings. Even if the quest for justice seems harsh. For instance, if a bunch of corporate tyrants are gonna exploit the land for resources and some chthonic monster woke up and decided to eat a bunch of polluting assholes, Roxy and The Org. would be quite all right with it. Or, on the less extreme side, if a bunch of woodland sprites want to reclaim a sacred belonging stolen by humans and put into a museum, Roxy would probably show up and give them a few tips on how to make a stealthier heist to avoid the ire of humans. 

lilac :   what was your muse’s childhood like ?   how has their upbringing affected them as they’ve aged ?

I think I answered a similar question for a different prompt, but in short, Roxanne’s childhood is best described as strange but wholesome. As aforementioned, her experiences with her adoptive grandmother allowed her to navigate a lot of complex issues as she grew up. More is better explained here.

lavender :   how easy is it to gain your muse’s trust ?  once their trust is broken ,   how might one go about mending it ? 

While Roxanne is not a closed-off person, she isn’t foolishly putting her trust into people unless she has a good feeling about them. She is always warm, civil and kind to others and if someone demonstrates themself to be of moral character with integrity then she would hold them to it. Also when it comes to working together in a mission, Roxanne knows that she’d have to trust somebody with watching her back and she will do the same unconditionally, knowing that whatever personal issues that are present need to be put to rest. 

But once her trust is broken, it’s going to be hard to earn it back. One would have to work for it and prove it through action rather than words, demonstrating that the breaking of that trust really hurt her and that they will be held to a very high standard the next time they meet. Again on professional matters, Roxanne is willing to set aside her feelings to focus on the importance of seeing a mission to the end but she won’t be as afable or friendly.
