i color my pics so rarely i completely forgot that his wings should have some kind of pattern lmao. when i gave him wings i was aiming for smth angelic tho, so i didn’t use a particular reference

but thissss. at this my brain’s making a sound of a working printer, so i’ve looked up some matching birds for jim :)

don’t want to make a messy post, so my little rant will be under the cut. excuse me for rushed english in advance pls

if we’re talking about matching birds in general:

the most obvious choice would be a bird of prey like falcon or eagle, just to match jim’s status as captain. but i don’t really like the faces of eagles, they’re kinda offputting for me lmao. and they’re the most boring birds in the world idc

however, falcons have almost the exact shape, size (relatively the rest of the body), volume and texture of wings i’ve been imagining for jim. and they’re made for speedy maneuvering, fold gracefully and all

a funny choice would be a double-yellow headed amazon parrot :)

you know. green tunic, golden head, friendly, smart and playful approach and all. the wings are shiny and very very fluffy (esp at the base) which i kinda intended as well

as for the colors of the wings alone - a barn owl, definetely. a little gold at the base and then purely white white white <з

@gglinaa i have MORE fanfanart based off your amazing comic, i cant get it out of my head. i speculate that kirk would be very clumsy with his new wings. and also that they would be very shiny and pretty and golden :]
