I'm taking no criticism on Se-Jin regarding her personality or usefulness to the plot, BUUUUT

My girl really left 12 years past without speaking to Young-Min. 12 years. Not a letter or an email or a message. She unwillingly left him to protect him from her family and preferred to torment herself with his pain instead of trying to contact him.

I get the fact he'd have done something stupid if he knew the truth, okay? But 12 years??? She was gone for so long and appeared on that rooftop of the hospital as if nothing ever happened????

That is the number two fact that keeps me from thinking Se-Jin and Young-Min's could last in a relationship. My number one reason is that I think we've only watched part of who Se-Jin is and that part was mostly focused on Young-Min, so it'd be better for her to explore her life free of her brother before she engages in something more serious in the romantic front. She had a life in America and maybe friends? She did most of what she did to help Young-Min out of guilt. Maybe the best part for me is that she's selfish, she wanted the safest surgery for Young-Min and was willing to use Go Seung-Tak's body as a medium for her to spend more time with Young-Min.

I love that she's selfish. I love that she's ambitious and vindicative when crossed and that she has the will power to ignore a man for 12 years even if her guilt is eating her from the inside.

I guess what I'm saying is that there's more to Se-Jin than a martyr girl who will go back to and stay in a relationship out of nostalgia.

Even when she promised to never leave again, I don't trust it. If she was needed somewhere else, if her career was demanding something more out of her, would she metaphorically kill herself and prioritize her lover over saving lives as a surgeon? Or would she be true to her ideals and break her promise to the boy she loved and left before?
