"... have you ever heard the saying just because you can doesnt mean you should?" they offer as they reach the door "and no its not but sir you are driving me nuts!" they pap his shoulder before looking to where they were. it was time?
"Heard it plenty, but thats never stopped me before." Zhyvr grins, knocking.
"Enter." Comes a voice from within, tired but stern, undercut by a barely audible jabber.
Zhyvr gives you a glance and nods, opening the door with a heavy huff.
Inside are great arched windows with thick glass and wrought iron, draped in heavy wine dark curtains drawn shut, the room lit not by the sun or electricity but by candles, clotted blood red and flickering in their many holders. The walls hold paintings, intricate in oils, tapestries and sculptures both on the floor and in the walls themselves. Huge stone steps lead up to a dais, carpeted by a long rug of deep blues, many shades swirling together, things lurking in the darkness.
It leads to a throne, flanked by standing torches, carved from dark wood and accented with gold and jewels, carved with waves and storms, sunken ships and lost bodies and tentacles. The woman upon it is both bigger and smaller than you’d expect, large for an ancient still young yet small for most any eternal, standing, or rather sitting at just below nine feet.
The skeleton queen’s legs are crossed with soft and well-worn leather pants tucked into high boots, around her waist a belt and above a black corset tighter than possible on a human, no flesh or ecto in the way, over a ruffled shirt in a pale sky blue. By her side sits a cutlass, on her belt a knife and more than one flintlock. Upon her skull sits no crown but a scarf just a shade off her shirt and so much older, worn down and heavily torn with more than a few patches to hold it together. And on top of that is a tricorn edged with gold to match the grommets of her corset, the leather black and creased from centuries of use.
Her bones are chipped and scarred, glitches dancing across them, sections of her dancing off and back on as she stares you down with eyes an intense, if fuzzy, white. No judgment is held within, just calm acceptance and quiet, knowing expectation.
“Dragon, correct?” Her voice is smooth and deep, a stammering pitch ripping from the reverie of an enjoyable listen. “I’ve been looking forward to meeting you.”

Raven from Teen Titans // Cosplayer : Grimrper // Photo : Jvalenz20
I think in a funny way, I’ve always wanted to make a Raven cosplay, ever since I first saw her on Cartoon Network’s Teen Titans back in the early 2000’s. I used to have this navy blue blanket when I was younger and I used to pretend it was her cloak; so I guess this was a project long time in the making! While I was in college, I had to put my cosplay hobby aside since I had so little time and space to make costumes. So for my entire final year, I was itching to start a costume project when I got out. I thought she would be the perfect character to bring with me to San Diego Comic Con.
I first discovered cosplay when I was in middle school. I really liked cartoons and anime and stumbled upon cosplays of my favorite characters on sites and forums. I never really grew out of playing dress up so I was happy to see people made costumes year round to post online and bring to conventions. I started out by just using things I already had in my closet. The first cosplay I wore to a convention was stuff just pulled out from my closet and repurposed things I had around the house. Even though it wasn’t the best, people at the convention were still very nice and encouraging! And seeing all the great costumes made me want to keep going and get better and better.
I think my favorite thing about wearing Raven is the variety of interaction I get when I wear her, from both kids and adults. But the kids are the best! I kinda forgot that since “Teen Titans Go!” came out, a lot of kids know the character so I got quite a few hugs from fans. I was walking around the convention hall and trying to navigate the crowd when a family of three little girls and their father walked past. I was busy looking around when I just hear this chorus of “Raven!!” from below me and these little girls beaming up at me with wide eyes. They were so cute! We took a few pictures together and they were all hiding under my cloak and hugging my legs, striking poses. It was so sweet and honestly made my whole day.
The project was really fun to make and I ended up learning a few new skills by doing it. I wanted a fabric with a slight color shift to give the cloak a really magical look, so I used a two toned navy taffeta and sewed it into a fitted half circle cloak. I tried resin casting for the first time to make all the gems and broaches. I mixed some resin, resin dyes, and fine glitter to make the gems, then backed them with foil and placed them in gold curtain grommets with a worbla backing to hold them in place for my belt. The gems on my hands a secured to my suit and gloves with two strong magnet clasps. I also fitted my grey gloves with some cute purple press on nails so they look more hand-like. Much better than getting paint everywhere.
Cosplay has improved my life by motivating me to try new things and encouraged me to learn new skills. With every project I find myself learning something new. Sewing, sculpting, silkscreening, resin casting, photography…the list goes on. I started out knowing pretty much nothing about crafting, and suddenly I have so many new tricks on my belt! It really taught me to appreciate all the work people put into their costumes. It’s a lot of hours of hard work and problem solving, a lot of thinking outside of the box.

Curtain rods available in both modern and simple styles like fixed length, eyelet and extendable rod that can suit any style of drapery you choose. While choosing the type of curtain rod, make sure the rod type matches your curtain fabric and also the room type you are going to install them. Make sure you are installing the perfect length rod. For that, always go with the rule of thumb that your curtain rod should extend 3 to 6 inches past your window frame.

Installing a curtain rod over the window needs a pair of brackets to keep it in place. Choose the brackets based on the function and style of the rod. Long and extended brackets are needed if you have other products on your window, such as wood blinds or shades behind. Other than that, a short bracket is the perfect choice for rods with no other extra products.

my friend @monchichitanuki made a really great tutorial on witch hats! obviously, considering the nature of this blog, i’d suggest using this as a base way to go about your hat for himiko yumeno-- but obviously, it can be used for any witch hats! here’s what she had to say, right off her instagram--
buy a sunhat online or in a 1$ store, that'll be your base for your hat .
trace your hat onto whatever fabric your using ( I suggest using knit that stretches four ways, otherwise it'll be more annoying to make /may wrinkle weirdly..
cut a hole in it that's slightly smaller then the hole that's in your hat that sits on your head and pin it , then sew the outside together and pull it inside out. then put it off to the side until later.
buy a 1/2 inch thick roll of foam and make a party hat shape , like you would with paper, then just kind of finagle and fit it around your hat until it sits right, depending on how long you want your hat to be you might need to cut it down from the top!!!
pin it closed then start glue gunning it!! You'll have to squeeze the pieces together otherwise it'll just fall apart and won't stick!  But be careful not to burn yourself!!!!
once the cone is glued shut , glue it down to the hat and leave it alone for like, 5-10 minutes, go get a snack during this time period lol.
cut out a triangle , that'll either fit exactly to the foam cone you made or make it looser, it depends on what kind of effect you want your witch hat to have!!!
slip the fabric over the cone and then glue it down!!!
the circle we cut out earlier is gonna come back now, your gonna pull it right side out and iron it, then slip if over the cone and pull over the sides of the hat and clean it up so that it looks nice
flip the hat upside down and cut about half an inch into the circle then glue down the little flaps to the inside of the hat so that it's nice and secure.
depending on what witch your doing, your gonna wanna make a long tube out of spandex or knit to put around the hat to hide the seam where you'd glue the cone and base fabrics together.
for the gold ring I use curtain grommets that you can buy at joanns or Home Depot, and I glue it over the seam where you close the red or green band
finally , cut out little pointy ovals and cover them with gold spandex and your done!!! I hope this tutorial helped some of you guys out and if you liked this and want to help support my work feel free to donate to my koffee account and comment with what else you'd want to see and maybe I'll make a tutorial on it!! :)
i hope you guys find this as helpful as i did!! thank you, tayla! if you have any issues with it flopping off of your wig, remember that safety pins (or even some quick handsewing) into the wefting will help you a lot! bobby pins would also work if you added in little straps or something for them to hold onto.
