1830s Boys' Skeleton Suit
Tumblr media
Here's the result of that request I received yesterday! This is an edit of one of @peebsplays's skeleton suits for boys, to... sleeve the sleeves, you know. I might make some more things along these lines (recolors of this one, maybe a more suit-like version for older boys...) but for now this is what you're getting.
Skeleton suits were clothes for very young boys (about 3-9), most popular between 1790 and 1830. They were, however, seen before and after those years, as early as the 1780s and as late as the mid-19th century. Their silhouettes often mimicked women's fashion in a way, with very high waistlines in the early 1800s and gigot sleeves in the 20s and 30s. See this painting from 1834:

Requires the Fancy Skeleton Suit
Wonderful gigot sleeves from @vintagesimstress's 1895 girls' dress
Comes in the 32 original swatches (the textures worked fine with the mesh edit and....if it ain't broke)
Intended for young boys c. 6-10 years old
Vertices: 935-2672 in LODs 0-3
Polygons: 1246-4192 in LODs 0-3
Yes, I figured out how to simplify meshes. Or rather, I googled it.
