So, I have this idea in my head, and I’ll never write it out into a coherent fic, but the basic outline is:

The story starts with a montage of Stiles doing his caretaker-shtick - grocery shopping, cooking healthy meals, washing dishes, cleaning up the pack’s shared spaces, planning ahead for who needs to be where at what time, making sure everyone has everything they need, doing laundry, reminding the ‘wolves to schedule themselves off when they inevitably forget what day the full moon is again, etc, etc.

But.

The thing is? Stiles hates it. He HATES it. He started doing this stuff for his dad after his mom died and his dad disappeared into the office and a bottle of Jack, but it was always an obligation of the “if I’m more useful and less trouble, maybe he’ll want to spend time with me more often” variety. Their relationship eventually got better again (mostly), but if Stiles stopped doing the household chores, they just didn’t ever seem to get done. And eventually, they’d be out of food for the second week in a row, or he’d run out of clean clothes, or bathtub would be growing the mold that aggravated Scott’s asthma again, and Stiles would give in and just take care of it. And after enough times of trying to subtly shift some of the responsibility back onto his dad, and it failing every time, he just quit trying. It was less infuriating to do just do it himself.

When he moved in with Derek, some small, unspoken part of him was hoping that things would change. And, in Derek’s defense, it’s not like he just immediately refused to do anything around the apartment. But Stiles had a long habit at that point of just doing what needed done, and not waiting for someone else to do it. So he’d pick up groceries on his way home from work or class, and it wasn’t like he was going to intentionally not get the bananas for Derek’s nasty protein shakes while he was there anyway. He’d do his own laundry, and throw Derek’s laundry in too, because there’s no need to waste water on two half-full loads.

And slowly but surely, almost without even realizing it, he was back to being responsible for ALL the household chores. It only got worse once the pack filtered back in to living in Beacon Hills full time as they finished their degrees. A pack meeting needed to happen, so who was responsible for planning it? Stiles. Who was in charge of knowing when everyone was available? Stiles. Who had to clean up when the pack showed up uninvited and left their living room and kitchen in shambles? Stiles.

It’s not like he got to just stop taking care of his dad’s house either. He didn’t do as much anymore, but he and Derek had dinner at his dad’s at least every Sunday evening. They used to bring take-out over, but after the Sheriff gained 20lbs and got chewed out by his doctor for his cholesterol levels, Stiles went back to cooking for all of them every Sunday. Which turned into bringing groceries over for the meal he intended to make, because John didn’t have what he needed in the house. Which turned into bringing over a week’s worth of groceries, because the pantry and fridge were completely bare. Which turned into meal-prepping for the next week after dinner, while his dad and Derek watched whatever ESPN was showing, because seriously, eating fast food six days a week was just beyond unhealthy. And if he wanted space to cook, he had to do the week’s worth of dishes piled up in the sink. Plus, he always wound up cleaning whatever bathroom he used if he needed the toilet while they were visiting, because... gross. At least his dad seemed to be doing his own laundry now?

It doesn’t happen all at once, of course. Things build up over time, so slowly he doesn’t notice taking on one more task, and one more, and one more. No one likes doing chores, right? But someone’s got to do them. Someone has to plan ahead for the pack. If he sees that something needs done, it’s best to just go ahead and do it and get it over with, right?

Until one day, he’s just exhausted. It doesn’t make any sense, because he slept a full 7 hours last night, work is no more stressful than normal, there’s not a murderous monster of the week trying to kill everyone, nothing is wrong - everything’s actually been going surprisingly well for a while now. But Stiles is still completely and utterly wiped. Maybe he’s coming down with a bug or something? Since it’s Saturday, he decides to just take it easy and hopefully he’ll feel better tomorrow.

Derek comes over and scratches his scalp, taking a beyond obvious sniff of him (weirdo werewolves) when he sees there’s no breakfast happening, but just kisses his head and gets himself a bowl of cereal when he doesn’t smell anything amiss. The pack comes over and someone throws together sandwiches for lunch, and then they order takeout for supper. His dad shows up after his shift is over, and really, it’s a pretty typical Saturday, other than Stiles staying on the couch most of the day, instead of being up and moving around constantly. By midnight, he still doesn’t feel sick, which is good, and his mind and body both feel a little more rested. But he’s still somehow... existentially exhausted, maybe? Or something like that anyway, he doesn’t really know. It doesn’t make any sense!

But then he gets up to go to the bathroom and refill his water bottle. He looks around, and sees the clutter around the living room - the scattered pillows and blankets, magazines and books, cups and popcorn bowls, crumbs everywhere, water rings and greasy fingerprints on every flat surface. He walks into the kitchen and sees the sink completely full of dishes, the countertops piled with empty takeout boxes and trash. His foot actually sticks to the floor when he takes another step, where apparently someone spilled something and didn’t clean it up. The half-bath off the kitchen is occupied, so he shuffles toward the bedroom, and sees the laundry basket piled high; he usually does laundry on Saturday mornings, but he didn’t get to it this morning, and clearly Derek didn’t either. He finally makes it into the master bathroom, and sees Derek’s wet towels from this morning thrown on the floor.

As Stiles takes care of business on auto-pilot, he thinks about needing to go to his dad’s house tomorrow - planning what to make for the week, picking up groceries on the way there, cleaning the kitchen, cooking supper, cleaning up, making meals for the rest of the week to put in the fridge, cleaning up again, probably cleaning the bathroom.

He thinks about all the other things he’ll need to do tomorrow here at home - laundry he didn’t get done today, cleaning the living room and kitchen where it was left a mess, which means dishes, trash, sweeping, mopping, and picking up all the clutter, at least. Then MORE meal planning and grocery shopping because he didn’t get that done today either. The pack decided earlier that they wanted to go to the beach next weekend, so that’ll need planned - who’s driving, where they’re going, food and drinks to buy and pack, sunscreen, towels, after-sun gel (because werewolves always say they can’t burn, but then they do, and they WHINE, it’s so ridiculous), extra clothes because someone always forgets, talc powder and wet wipes to get all the sand off before they get back in the car, umbrellas, toys to make sandcastles (and enough shovels that the giant children won’t fight over them), a volleyball for the net... so many things. And if he doesn’t plan ahead for it all, and gather everything they need, then no one will, and it’ll be a miserable trip full of grouchy ‘wolves.

The more Stiles thinks about everything that needs done, the heavier the invisible weight on him feels, and he finds himself sitting on the edge of the bed, feeling more tired than he did when he woke up this morning. Derek walks into the bedroom, apparently to change out of his tight jeans and into sweatpants for the last movie of the night, but he throws his jeans down on the floor NEXT to the laundry basket, which is RIGHT THERE.....

And something snaps in Stiles. The proverbial straw has officially broken the camel’s back, and he’s just DONE. He can’t remember the last time anyone else did a chore, or cleaned up their own mess. He’s not entirely sure how everything got to this point, but he’s abruptly furious enough to make sure it doesn’t continue on this way.

Derek trails off from his last sentence, looking over at Stiles when he smells the boiling rage coming off of him, and follows after Stiles as Stiles stalks back out into the living room to glare at all the people gathered there, werewolf and human alike. One by one, the pack notices the steam coming out of Stiles’ ears, and fall silent in apprehension. Stiles is irritated and annoyed pretty frequently, but this level of anger is rare. What’s the deal?

The deal is - Stiles is on strike. They are a bunch of full grown adults, and as of right now, they’re going to have to pull on their big wolf undies and start acting like it. He is DONE acting like their parent, and he’s not going to do it anymore. If they want to eat, they’ll have to cook. If they want to eat nothing but fast food and die of a heart attack, that’s their choice to make. If they want to live in filth, so be it. If they have a miserable trip to the beach because no one planned ahead and packed the necessities, well, it sucks to be them. If they schedule themselves to work on the full moon, that’s their own problem, he’s not warning them or fixing it for them anymore. He’ll be getting a separate laundry basket for himself, and if Derek wants clean clothes, he can wash them himself.

They want to know what happened to family/pack taking care of each other? You know what, what DID happen to that? When’s the last time anyone attempted to take care of something for HIM? When’s the last time someone else saw something that needed done, and just did it? Or do they even SEE the things that need done anymore? No, because they’re too used to Stiles just taking care of it, and they don’t have to think about it. But this system has turned them all into spoiled, ungrateful brats, and he’s not enabling that anymore. He’s just not.

At first, the pack thinks Stiles is just being overly dramatic, Derek had warned them he wasn’t feeling well, after all. But over the next few weeks, they start to notice. Things just aren’t getting done. Who was responsible for this before? Oh yeah, Stiles. Why don’t they have want they need? Oh right, Stiles stopped packing for anyone but himself. It’s just little things here and there at first, but they add up quickly.

Meanwhile, Stiles has given himself permission to quit carrying the mental load for everyone, and he’s stopped trying to take care of every single little thing for a giant group of people, and he’s feeling so much more relaxed than even he expected. Yeah, it’s a little strange not cooking for Derek, but they had a long talk about it the day after Stiles exploded rage all over everyone, and Derek sees where he hasn’t held up his end. Stiles staunchly refused to do any household caretaking for the next month, and Derek agreed; they’re going to talk about it when the month is up, and decide then how they can fairly divide their responsibilities. No one else in the pack has even tried to talk to him about it, not even his dad. They did show up for Sunday dinner like usual, but when Stiles refused to cook or clean the kitchen so someone else could cook, they wound up just ordering from the local pizza place. Stiles felt a little guilty as he watched his dad eat greasy pizza, but he reminded himself over and over that his dad was a grown man who could make his own decisions.

It takes time for the pack to feel normal again, and Stiles sometimes feels a little guilty about that too, but Derek is on his side, so it’s bearable. Derek is the one that had to clean up the mess the pack left when they all stormed out the night Stiles went on strike, after all. Slowly though, one by one, the pack members come to Stiles and each one quietly apologizes for taking Stiles for granted, for not appreciating everything he did for them. Over time, they all begin to take up more responsibility for the pack, and as a result, they feel more invested in the pack too. They become less a group of people thrown together, and more a cohesive unit. Stiles does start contributing again, but he’s careful to only take on his share. And he has to take some deep breaths to not burst into tears the first time a pack member comes over with a haul of junk food for movie night, and they actually thought to bring him Reese’s cups and Twizzlers, his two favorites.

He thought life was good before, and it was. But this? This is better.

Fred Weasley, George Weasley and Y/n L/n, also known as 'The Pranksters Trio' of modern day Hogwarts.

It is the winter of senior year, and your stress levels are increasing by the day. NEWTS are to be held in a couple of months and you have managed to procrastinate completing your mock papers. At this rate, you would get a passing grade but in all honesty you know that wouldn’t cut it, you know your abilities. If you actually put effort in your subjects you can bump a level up.

You've made a deal with your parents that if you had completed your practice papers, you could spend the last week of the Christmas holiday with the Weasleys.

Which you are; 3 days in, 4 days left till school.

'What your parents don't know won't hurt them...' You mumble to yourself as you stir the bubbling green mixture clockwise.

See you haven't finished the potions assignment yet. Your parents thought you did last week, but in reality what you were working on was a little fantastic smelling concoction that could contribute to the twins' upcoming new joke shop merchandise lineup!

During the journey to King’s Cross, Fred had come up to you and asked if you could help brainstorm a new product that would blow people's minds away. Of course you agreed, a multitude of ideas already brewing, you would do anything to help out your friends.

That night, it was all you could think about. Naturally you are itching to get started, before the thought flies away. Pushing your potions textbook aside, you got to work. It took 18 hours of no sleep but it paid off. The product was now in your hands.

A shiny burgundy shimmering marble-like sphere. The final product was smaller than the blueprint- the amount of ingredients you had on hand in your muggle household were limited- you do a mental note on raiding the potions supply closet once back in school for dragon hide.

But when you do finally have all the resources, the sphere should be the size of a baseball.

For now, at 30% of the ideal size, this mini test sphere could stink up a small bedroom. Which is enough to do damage but also has a small enough impact that you fix if anything were to go wrong.

BAM! You knew the quiet was too good to last.

“y/n/n, my dear!” Greeted Fred, waltzing into Ginny’s room.

“Are you--” George placed his hand on the door, stopping it from slamming back to his face. “Oi! Why’d you have to kick the door so hard? You could have ruined my handsome face!” He shouted to his twin.

Dropping your quill back into the ink bottle you sighed. “Nooo, how many times do I have to tell you? I’ll be finished when I’m finished. Most likely tomorrow, the earliest.”

“Why can’t you just let US test it though?” voiced George.

“Because I came up with it and it’s the only one we’ve got!” You reasoned. “I wanna see it when it explodes!”

Right then, the boys’ eyes lit up.

“IT EXPLODES?!?!?” They exclaimed in union.

“SHIT!” It was too late to cover it up. The secret is out.

The twins shared a look, you don’t really believe in twin telepathy but in the case of your 2 best friends and mischief, they almost always are on the same page.

You are sent flying sideways off your chair and hit the air mattress. “Offph! George! Let….me….go!” With all your might, you try to push George off you but to no avail. The muscles built up during quidditch training are to his advantage.

In the other side of the room, Fred is rummaging through your trunk, eagerly looking for the mysterious and highly sought after invention.

Although he may not know what it looks like, Fred is still one of your accomplices in sneaking prank items to school, meaning he and Geroge know all the secret compartments in your trunk. As do you with their trunks.

This setup made sense, it was a precautionary method devised so that in a matter of incoming danger or when suspected of something, the others could easily get rid of any incriminating evidence.

The system is perfect! Well expect now when it backfired on you.

“AHA GOT IT!”

Your face snaps to the direction of the voice. Cursing internally, right there, raised high above Fred’s head is the prized Exploding Stink Bomb.

“WICKED!” cried George. While the twins are reveling in their success, you took the chance to push George off you and launch towards Fred.

While George was caught off guard, Fred had the few seconds in which you got up to process what was happening and sprinted towards the door.

“IMMA GET YOU FRED!”

“LET’S SEE THAT SMALL LEGS!”

“GOT YA! AHHHHH--” One moment you had your hand on Fred’s shoulder, next you felt a tug on your waist. “GEORGE LET. ME. GO”

“No can do y/n/n.”

His hold wasn’t enough to hurt you, but it was certainly tighter. “Learned from your earlier mistake eh” You teased.

“Just caught me off guard” George reasoned.

Fred walking backwards, bids his farewell. “See you Suckers!” He shouted, taking a bow. With that he disappears round the corner.

A THUD.

“Ginny!”

You and George shared a look of confusion, what was going on?

Arriving at the scene, you are not surprised to see a sneering Ginny.

“That’s what you get for going in my room!”

What you’re more surprised to see is a frantic Fred. You knew that Ginny is fully capable of being terrifying but this was all in good fun right?

Slowly George walked up to his brother. “Freddie what’s wrong?”

“The ball… it slipped”

Eyes wide, your heart starts to beat faster. “Where…?”

You barely had gotten the question out, the answer is given.

As if on cue, you hear shouts coming from your right, Ron’s room.

Ginny being the closest, beats all of you to the door. When it opened, you catch the faint bit of purple smoke before it completely clears away, no other evidence of the stink ball in sight-you smile at the result, hard work does pay off.

‘Now is not a time to be happy y/n’ you told yourself. Your gaze reached the unconscious bodies on the two beds. “Well that’s…..uhh... new...”

Here are 4 guilty looking teenagers looking at the scene of the crime.

Ginny gingerly poked Ron’s side, keeping a fair distance away just in case he jolts back. “…Are they dead?” she asked, breaking the silence.

“I don’t know! Why don’t you ask them!” George paused his pacing to point his finger at both you and Fred.

“Hey! I am not the one you had thrown the stink bomb into the room!” You said defensively. “Besides I told you to test it when I’m ready! BUT NOOOO… you two wanted it now WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING IT’S FULL CAPACITY AND RESTRICTIONS!”

“I…..I…” When George couldn’t come up with a come back, he changed tactics. Turning to Fred he challenges. “You’re being remarkably calm about this.”

Fred, who was still standing rooted at the entryway, replied. “Thanks, it’s the shock. Give me fifteen minutes, the screaming will happen.”

“What the heck happened anyway?” asked Ginny.

“Yea, I thought it was just a stink bomb that could explode!” added George.

“It is just an exploding stink bomb!”

“Then why are they unconscious?” George’s panic becomes more evident as in addition to his pacing, his voice is now an octave higher.

“I think that the stink bomb was too powerful for such a small room.” Sighing, you gestured to the closed windows. “There’s no adequate ventilation too. Must have cause them to inhale a larger concentration”

“How long will they be out?”

“I don’t know Ginny…really.” You shrug. “It could be hours, one to two at best.”

“TWO HOURS?!?” The twins say in union despite one clearly in utter distress while the other scarily unmoving.

Fred gripped his hair, placed his head in between his thighs and let out a scream that could rival a lion.

George now having lost hope of his brother functioning, took charge. “Mum is gonna be back any second now. What are we gonna do?”

“Well, first…we’re gonna check the boy’s condition again for progress” You suggest, dragging Ginny to check on hair while you check on Ron.

“Then..we’re gonna say..”

“GOT YA!” You 4 shout, finger guns at the ready.

“Wait.. WHAT?!!?? WHAT’S HAPPENING?” George looks at Harry and Ron- who are surprisingly alright and laughing their heads off, to you and GInny looking very smug.

Fred tilts his red face up to the commotion.

“YOU JUST GOT PRANKED! SAY CHESSE!” You announced, indicating to Ginny with the camera.

“Cheeseee” murmured the twins in defeat.

“How’d you do it?”

You knew that they would be back with questions. You keep them on the edge as you finish up your potions essay.

"You lot are predictable."

"Predictable?" George scoffed.

Tidying up the study table you continue "Mhhhmmm hmmm. Predicted that you would test it out on Ron, knew that you would try to steal it from me cause you both are very impatient- especially you Fred."

"Heyy!"

"But how did you wake up Harry and Ron?" Piped George. "We shook them but they were still unconscious!"

"Ah George ever the curious. It's simple really." You lay on the bed with hands behind your head, enjoying this moment of outsmarted the boys. "Your siblings were all very tired of been pranked so when we saw an opportunity to have you taste of your own medicine we grab them chance."

You glance at them.

"The time of you setting off the stink bomb is unknown but we were ready. I've made a nose blocker chewing gum while I was tinkering with the foul smell of the stink bomb."

"No sense of smell, no effect." stated Fred.

"Exactly, the rest I'd just improv and acting! The boys weren't actually unconscious, just a temporary numbing spell which Ginny and I reversed when we checked on them."

Sitting back up, you continued.

"What I didn't predict was how crazy you with react. I've never seen you two gone off the rails scared shirtless like that before." You admitted. "Priceless."

"And now you have a photo of it" grumbled George.

"And video too!"

"WHAT?"

A/N: A little late summer one-shot. Fills the Kiss Meme Prompt #20 “A kiss on the neck”. Title from “Backseat Serenade” by All Time Low. Some language and mild sexy times because duh.

salty like a summer day (kiss the sweat away)

It’s dark when he pulls up to her street, the summer sun long since set. The lights are off in her house save for the back porch bulb that he knows clicks off automatically at midnight. It’s times like these that he hates his car, because no matter how beautiful the vintage Camaro is it also boasts an engine that could wake the dead. He cuts the engine immediately, hoping like hell it didn’t wake her parents.

The night is still as he waits with baited breath but no lights turn on upstairs and no neighbors come out to investigate.

It’s hard sometimes, being the boy from the wrong side of the tracks, when you’re dating the girl from the right side.  But it’s a secret, this thing they have between them, and even though he knows that right now it’s for the best it still kind of pisses him off that this is the only way he gets her.

Better than not having her at all, he supposes.

It doesn’t take long before her front door is opening and closing, the only light guiding her towards his car coming off her cell phone screen. He can see her wild blonde curls piled on top of her head in a messy bun that he can’t wait to mess up later. She’s in nothing but pink cotton sleep shorts and a black tank top because despite the fact that summer is almost over it’s still hotter than hell outside.

But so is this girl. Damn.

She’s got a grin so wide he can see it through the dark and then she’s racing around his car, opening the squeaky metal door as quietly as she can before pulling it closed behind her.

“Hi,” she says breathlessly and he smirks, reaches over and slides his hand around the back of her neck. He barely has to tug and she’s leaning into his kiss, the strawberry lip gloss she’s been wearing all summer the sweetest thing he’s ever tasted.

“I wasn’t expecting you to text tonight,” he says, pulling away from her reluctantly so he can start up his car. They both wince at the loud noise, damn his need for a souped-up ride, and he waits until he’s sure the coast is clear before heading towards their favorite late night destination.

It’s been the same all summer. Clarke does shit with her friends during the day, the ones from her own side of town, and then at night she texts him to hang out. He doesn’t think of it like a booty call because they don’t always hook up. Sometimes they spend the night at the diner his mom used to work out, binging on greasy burgers and deep fried zucchini. Other times they end up at the abandoned drive in theater, lying on the hood of his car while he shows her the constellations and tells her the stories of their origins.

She told him once that a bad boy history nerd was something she never knew she always wanted.

Not that he’s a bad boy, by any stretch of the imagination. But in this town, when you’re from Arkadia Heights, and not Arkadia Proper, it doesn’t matter if you’re a straight A college student with a full time job that also takes care his younger sibling in the wake of your single mother's death. In the eyes of the elite, you’re less than.

Clarke Griffin has never looked at him like he’s less than, though. Not when she brought her cute little hybrid into the auto shop he works at to have a taillight fixed. Not when he made a move, asking for her phone number even though he was positive she was way out of his league. And not even when they went to that cheesy diner for their first date. Clarke looks at him like he can give her the world without needing a single cent to his name.

“I just wanted to see you before school tomorrow,” she says as she runs her fingers up and down the back of his hand where it sits on the gearshift. It should weird him out a little, dating a girl that’s still in high school but she’s a few months from eighteen and he’s barely twenty. That's part of the reason that she hasn’t told her parents about them yet, because she swears that while they aren’t rich snobs like people she knows they might have a problem with his age.

“I’m glad you did,” he says, lifting her knuckles up and brushing a kiss across them. “I missed you.”

He finds himself saying shit like that around her that he’s never said with anyone else before. Not even Echo, the girl he dated almost all through high school. He honestly thought he’d marry her but she went to college in another state and they just couldn’t keep it together through the long distance. That’s how he knows she wasn’t the one for him. For the one you’d be able to work through anything to keep them in your life.

Things like dating in secret for three months.

“So, where to tonight?”  He gives her a smirk and she blushes as she scrolls through his playlist, settling on a slow cover of a song by Joshua Hyslop that he knows she loves. Her soft voice floats over to him as she sings along and he swears that he doesn’t think he could live without this girl even if he wanted to.

The giant screens of the old drive in flash bright white when his headlights hit them and he knows what Clarke is going to say even before the words leave her lips.

“I wish we could have come here when it was open.”

It’s something she’s said more than a dozen times over the summer. One night he brought this little cell phone projector that he bought to see if they could watch it on one of the screens. It only ended up taking up a corner of it but she still kissed him like it was the sweetest thing anyone had ever done for her.

He parks in front of one of the screens and rolls down his windows before he shuts off the engine. The air outside is still stifling hot but a light breeze hits them every so often and cools their already sweating skin.

“Bellamy…”

Her voice is barely audible over the music that’s still playing softly in the background.

“That doesn’t sound good,” he says with a dry laugh and if she’s about to break up with him he thinks it’s a pretty shitty way to do it considering they have a thirty minute drive back to her house. “Just say it, Clarke. Is this,” he motions between them with his index finger, “over?”

“What? No!” Her voice is too loud in the quiet car and she shakes her head at not just him but also herself. “No, of course not.”

She reaches for him, pulling him so he’s practically in her seat, and kisses him. Her fingers scratch at the back of his neck like he loves and he nips at her bottom lip like he knows she does.

“So, what’s wrong?”

Clarke pulls away so she can look at him and it’s crazy how just being this close to her can make his heart pound out of his chest.

“I think I’m falling in love with you.”

She says the words so bluntly that it takes him a second to catch up. Her bottom lip is caught between her teeth and he grins slowly, lifting his thumb up and pulling it down.

“Really?”

Clarke scoffs a little, her flushed cheeks visible even in the dark. “Don’t sound so surprised.”

“Well, I am,” he admits. “It’s not every day the princess falls in love with the pauper.”

“Stop that,” she says seriously. “You’re not a pauper and I’m not a princess. And I just told you I love you. You could at least say something back.”

Bellamy grins and tugs her closer to him. “You didn’t actually say the words.”

Her breath hitches when he runs his finger along the strap of her tank top. “I love you, Bellamy Blake.”

There’s no way to hide the grin on his face so he doesn’t try to. “I love you, too.” He whispers the words against her lips and she lets out a little moan that goes straight through his body. “Now, will you please come over here so I can kiss you properly?”

She laughs as she climbs over the center console and straddles his waist, her hands diving into his hair at the same time her lips connect with his. Kissing someone has never felt this electric, like the simple act of kissing her could start a fucking forest fire. The breeze is gone, causing the entire car to heat up like a furnace but he doesn’t even care. A light sheen of sweat builds everywhere the tank top doesn’t cover and he groans, licking a stripe over her shoulder and kissing up her neck.

“You taste so fucking good,” he whispers in her ear and she lets out the sexiest moan when he bites the skin behind her ear.

He practically dies when she rasps out, “What do I taste like?”

“Summer,” he says as he kisses his way back down her neck. “I can’t wait to find out what you taste like in the winter.”

She giggles, this soft little sound that he adores. “Probably hot chocolate,” she says into his mouth. “I love hot chocolate.”

“Good to know.”

They end up in his backseat, her legs wrapped around his waist as he buries his face into her neck. By the time they both come down it’s practically a sauna in his car.

“It’s so fucking hot,” she says, the curse word rolling off her tongue so easily it makes him laugh.

“I’m corrupting you,” he says as he pulls himself away from her. “You hardly swore at the beginning of the summer.”

“Maybe,” she shrugs as she pulls her tank top back on over her head. “But I love it.”

“Good.”

The lights of her house are still off when they pull up a few hours later and he reaches for her before she can open the door that’ll take her away from him for who knows how long. School is starting for both of them and with his job and taking care of his sister, he won’t be able to sneak out in the middle of the night to spend time with her.

“I’m sorry summer has to end,” he says, his voice a little sadder than he meant it to be. “I don’t want to lose you, Clarke.”

“You won’t,” she tells him seriously, and when she kisses him he knows that she means it. “I’m telling my parents about us. This is real and I want everyone to know it, even if they don’t understand.”

He nods and smiles, kisses the tip of her nose before gesturing to her house with a tilt of his head. “G’night , Princess.”

She’s almost to the door when she turns around and shouts, “I love you, Bellamy Blake!” then tilts her head back, laughing before she skips the rest of the way to her front door.

His chest rumbles with laughter as he drives away, reaching for his cell phone when he hits the stop sign at the end of her street.  He thumbs out a text to her before driving back towards his own side of town.

And I love you. Even if you are a little crazy.

They met at the park. It could have been a meet-cute, except Derek doesn't do cute so it ended up just being weird.

Derek was taking Nora for a walk like he always does when she decided it would be a good idea to chase a squirrel and practically dragged him around, only stopping when another dog got in her way – probably chasing the squirrel too – and they started growling at each other.

“Hey, man. Control your dog, I'm not ready to be a grandpa!”

“My dog is a female.” Derek said, tried not to stare at the other guy's hands as he struggled to hold his dog back.

“Well,” the other guy said, “how can you know under all – that.” He gestured towards Nora.

“She's an Alaskan malamute.” Derek took a step back, dragging Nora away from asshole-guy and his dalmatian. “Much better than a dog that you don't know if it's white or black.”

The other guy stopped, looked between Derek and his dog. “How dare you.” He narrowed his eyes. “Leia is beautiful.”

“Leia?” Derek asked, smirking. “What happened to creativity these days?”

“I'll show you creativity.” The guy growled, much like Nora was doing, then took Derek's hand, dragged him towards a bench and started to list all the reasons he named his dog after Princess Leia.

Nora and Leia ended up getting along fabulously, and as fate would have it, so did their owners.

“Unfair.” Stiles mumbles, watching as Derek heads to the bathroom. “I'm supposed to be going to work. Stop teasing me.”

Derek smirks over his shoulder. “Are you sure? I was going to ask you to join me in the shower.”

“Gah.” Stiles says as his dick responds to Derek's smile. “I hate you.”

Derek laughs. “I know.” He walks into the shower, moans purposefully loud when the hot water hits his body. Stiles yells at him to shut up and seconds later he's joining Derek under the spray.

“You're gonna kill me.” He leans in for a kiss, nips at Derek's bottom lip as he runs his hands over Derek's wet chest. “Fuck,” he moans when Derek presses him against the wall, rubs their dicks together, “you're awful.”

Derek bites softly at Stiles' pulse point, enjoys the moan it elicits from him. He's always talking, moaning, yelling, seriously, Derek is the one who's going to die here.

It's been two months and they aren't even close to getting tired from each other. It's still hot, fun and - even more - exciting. Sometimes, in between fixing a car or two, Derek checks his phone, sends messages to Stiles, some of them explicit others just telling him about his day, the awful clients that destroy their cars and ask Derek to perform miracles. Other times, it's Stiles that calls him, rambles about his dad and Leia, about his friends and what he ate that morning.

They haven't talked about what they are – if they are something – but Stiles doesn't seem in a hurry, so Derek isn't going to force him, as much as he wants to.

Really, Derek’s got it so bad even his boss noticed and he’s seventy.

“See you tomorrow?” Stiles asks, kisses him again as Derek walks him to the door. They never meet at Stiles' house, and Derek is scared to ask why.

“Sure.” Derek says, berates himself for agreeing so easily. He should ask him out on a real date, he – he should do it now, but like the past two months, he doesn't even open his mouth.

Stiles waves as he walks to his Jeep and Derek watches him drive away, feeling stupid and in love.

“I have a date!” Laura announces, walking into the shop. Harry tries to glare at her but when Laura leans in to kiss his cheek, he blushes and walks back to his office, mumbling something to himself.

“Good.” Derek says, not bothering to look away from what he’s doing. “Now stop flirting with my boss.”

“Never.” She answers, laughing. “Come on,” she kicks his leg, “be excited for me.”

“I am,” Derek says, flatly, “so excited.”

“Whatever.” She says, and Derek doesn't need to see her to know she's rolling her eyes at him. “Tina set us up. She showed me a picture and everything, I think we might have a chance.”

Derek sighs, knows it's his duty as her brother to support her. He stands up and looks at her. “I'm happy for you.” He says, wiping his hands on his pants and smirks. “Maybe he will show up this time.”

Laura rolls her eyes, but smiles back. “Asshole.” She slaps his arm, then makes a disgusted face. “Ugh, stop sweating so much.” She accepts the cloth he passes her. “Anyway, we're going to that new restaurant downtown. If I call, you know where to go.”

Derek sighs and nods. “You really need to stop going at blind dates.”

“And you really need to start going on dates.” She retorts, looks intently at his face when Derek doesn't answer. “What?”

“Nothing.” He says, turning around. Laura really doesn't need to know about Stiles, not right now, not until Derek knows what the hell is going on.

With a defeated sigh, Laura says “I just want you to be happy, little brother.”

“I know.” Derek closes his eyes, thinks about the way Stiles smiled this morning in his kitchen. “I will be.”

“Sir? Do you have a reservation?” The girl asks shyly, Derek can only imagine how he looks like but Laura is not picking up and Cora was hysterical on the phone.

“No, I just need to find my sister we –” He says in a rush, walking further into the restaurant, the girl still following him closely. He finds her sitting near the window, talking animatedly. Shit, Derek thinks, she was so excited about this date. “Laura!” He calls and she turns around immediately, her expression angry at first but quickly turning to worried when she spots him.

“What's going on?” She asks, standing up.

“Sorry – ” He says, turning to apologize to her date, “look I'm –” He freezes, when he notices who's the guy in front of him. “Oh.”

Stiles blinks up at him, his expression a mix of worried with confused and guilty. Yeah, Derek wants to laugh, sure. That's his life, right?

“Derek.” Laura calls, touching his shoulder. “What the hell?”

Taking a deep breath, Derek turns to his sister, trying to control his anger. It's not her fault, he tells himself, trying to remember how to breathe again.

“Cora called, apparently something happened to Josh.” Laura's eyes widen and in a second she's taking her purse. “They are going to the hospital right now.”

“Okay,” Laura mutters to herself, “it's gonna be fine. Stiles –” she turns to the other man, “I'm sorry, our brother, he's –”

“Go.” Stiles tells her, voice weak. She smiles, leans in to kiss his cheek. Derek looks to the floor, wills himself not to cry.

Laura turns around, rushes to the exit. When Derek is about to follow, Stiles takes his arm “Derek, I'm –”

Derek growls, shakes Stiles' hand off. “Save it.”

When they get to the hospital, Josh is telling everyone the story of how he fell off a tree and broke his arm while trying to save his beloved cat. Derek laughs with the rest of his family, relieved that his little brother is fine and well, then excuses himself to the bathroom and breaks down.

Stiles shouldn't be this important, he tells himself, punching a mirror. It hurts, of course, but he always found physical pain relieving.

Maybe he should tell Laura, hurt them just like Stiles hurt him, make Stiles feel the same pain, see his happiness break, his hope shatters.

And then he remembers Laura's expression, remembers hearing her laughter.

It's not worth it, he decides, washes the blood from his hand and closes his eyes for a minute.

He's done.

He's done with all of this.

He leaves the hospital without saying goodbye.

Derek spends the rest of the night in his bed with Nora right next to him. She whines and licks his hand, brings him her favorite toy and makes Derek cry a little more.

“I love you.” He tells her, scratching her behind the ear. She whines softly and then lies down, watching him intently.

The next morning his family calls. First his mom, then his dad, and at some point they come looking for him, mom with her soft voice and Cora with her angry screams.

Laura comes in the afternoon, opens the door with the spare key Derek gave her – and now regrets doing so – and sits next to him on the bed. “What is it?” She asks, running a hand through his hair. When Derek buries himself further under the covers, Nora growls. “Hey,” Laura tries again, “is it because of Josh?”

“Leave me alone.” Derek mutters. She's the last person he wants to talk to. It makes him remember of the world he built inside his head and is now completely gone.

“We're worried, Derek.” She insists. “You disappeared, then you refused to answer us. Josh thinks you're mad at him.”

God, Derek groans. He can't stop messing things up.

“I needed some time for myself, okay?” He throws the covers away, gets up finally. Nora following him to the bathroom, as if she needs to protect him from the world. “It's fine, girl.” He tells her, patting her head. “I'm taking you out in a minute.” She whines again, licks his hand.

“Der,” Laura says when he gets back, “please, talk to me. I can see you're not fine.”

“It doesn't matter.” He answers, changes his shirt for a clean one and reaches out for Nora's leash. He's not feeling hungry, despite not having eaten for almost eighteen hours, but he figures he'll get something from the coffee shop in the corner.

“Derek –”

“Leave it.” He interrupts her, slamming the door shut behind him.

He walks to the park on auto-pilot, Nora trotting happily next to him. The pain in his chest still real and obvious, it makes Derek wonder if coming to the park makes him some sort of masochist.

He's so caught up in his own thoughts that when he notices Stiles it's too late to run away.

“I can explain.” It's the first thing he says. Derek walks past him without paying attention. Whatever he has to say, Derek doesn't want to listen. “Derek, please –”

“Shut up.” Derek snarls, turning around and stopping Nora from running towards Stiles. “I don't care.”

“I didn't know! It wasn't –”

“What part of 'I don't care' you didn't understand?” Derek asks, staring at Stiles angrily.

“The part where you look like you haven't slept at all!” Stiles insists. Derek only rolls his eyes and starts to walk again. “Fine, asshole. But I'm gonna follow you anyway.” Stiles says. “I was looking for a job!”

“I don't care –”

“Tina was supposed to be helping me find a job!” Stiles continues, louder this time. “And then you called me! You were telling me about the guy that yelled at your boss for listening to country music while working!”

Derek remembers that. The guy was an asshole and Derek had to bodily remove him from the shop. When he told Stiles about that, Stiles said it was hot and then they proceeded to talk about all the things they would do to each other later that night. “I –” Derek coughs, finally stopping to look at Stiles, “yeah.”

“Tina started talking to me and I agreed with everything she said because I just wanted to get rid of her as soon as possible!” Stiles throws his hands up, sounding angry and defeated. “When I met your sister that night, I told her straight away that I was tricked into it! We had dinner as friends, and I told her everything about the guy I'm in love with!” He continues. “And –”

“In love?” Derek cuts him out, heart pounding inside his chest. “You –”

“Duh!” Stiles says, slapping his chest. “You are the most amazing and irritating guy I've ever met, I love you a lot and I want to be with you! There!” He yells, collapses to the ground with an angry groan and when Nora starts to lick his face, he closes his eyes and hugs her tight against his chest.

“I –” Derek drops to his knees, slowly. This still feels like too much, like a dream, like – everything he's been waiting for, “I love you too.”

Stiles opens his eyes, and with Nora still snuggled up against his chest, he grins up at him “Well, good.” Stiles says softly. “Can we stop pretending we're just fuck buddies and call each other boyfriends, then?”

“Sure.” Derek breathes out, reaches out for Stiles' hand. “Anything you want.”

I was in an accident last month in my brand new Volvo (not even a month old!). I was rear-ended, while I was at a stop sign. Damage is to the rear bumper, pretty bad, looks horrible...especially for a new car! No one was hurt, just shaken! We did not immediately file a police report. We exchanged information, and the the person who hit me told me that they would pay for my repairs out of pocket, and that they didn't want to get the police or insurance involved. We conversed on the phone for a few days, and they seemed like everything was going great, and I was supposed to meet them at their friends auto body shop for the repairs...long story short...they never showed. Bad part now is, I never got their insurance information, just license plate, DL, addresses(basically everything BUT insurance). That same day, I went to the police station and filed a delayed police report. Later that week, I went and got 3 different estimates, and the damage averages out to about $900. I contacted a friend of mine, who is a police officer, and they stated that I can issue a summons to the person who hit me for careless driving, and I will have to go to court. This is basically to show them that I'm not messing around. All I want is my BRAND NEW car fixed!!! I'm NOT going through my insurance because my deductible is $1,000, and the damage is less...not only that...it wasn't my fault! My insurance company advised me to have person who hit me's insurance take care of everything, at no cost to me. I have done lots of research and majority of the research tells me to get term life insurance, but I am still confused to why. Here is a little about me: 30 years old, married, and have a baby. Non-smoker, and overall healthy, minus some arthritis. My first thought is to get whole life insurance because it definitely covers my family if I pass away when I am a lot older. However, I then hear that whole life is not a great investment - too expensive and lot of cost/fees involved, you don't really know how much of your premiums are going into your insurance and how much is going into the savings where the company invest the money. After hearing that, I think well term isn't so bad then. I get a lower premium for the same amount of life insurance. But then, I know term insurance only last a limited time. I see 30 years usually being the longest term life insurance. Well 30 years from now (considering nothing happens to me in the next 30 years), I will only be 60. That is still pretty young and then I wil have to renew my term insurance, but at 60, my premium will be a lot more than it would be right now. My family and I are just trying to get a ballpark idea of how much my sister's car insurance would go up if we made a claim on an accident she had. She was in a mall parking lot and pulled out to make a left turn. I think she didn't really see a car coming, but I also think the car was zipping around the lot at a too-fast speed. My sister got hit in her driver's door and needs a new door and the frame of the car needs pulled out. There are no witnesses to really show who's fault it is, and I think it's a little of both judging by how much damage there is on her car (the other driver had to be going fast). There is no damage on the other person's car. It costs about $1500 to get it fixed (just the bare minimum - a new door from a junkyard and fixing the frame, just to make it safe and sealed, there will still be some dents). We're debating on claiming it or not because there is a $500 deductible. She is 25 years old and hasn't had an accident before.
