My headcanons of the Reluctant Follower unmasked back in the day vs now :3 Valerie (2019) and Vanessa (2021) + Rare human art
Imma be real I was a bit disappointed at the Vanny is Vanessa twist because off how it got spoiled already by SteelWool and stuff but I'm fine with it now!!! But oughhh rip my old Vanny design you will be my oc now!! I think I was just bummed because they kept hinting at it and like the first human character revealed and the enemy being a furry is like huh istg if she ends up being the security guard... I think I wouldn't have mind if Ness had more screentime tbh!!
So back then I hoped Vanny was separate from Vanessa and they both had similar names so Glitchtrap wanted to frame Nessie for the murders due to it. Same with Glam Freddy and Greggy think it was Vanessa who was the bad guy at first like gasps Vanessa + Bunny = Vanny!! Also they're both fake blondes and dye their hair often!! (There's more to it but I'd end up rambling)
First time drawing textured hair digitally I hope to improve more on it in the future because oughh Vanny deserves it!!!

The sun began to set, casting a radiant glow across the landscape and saturating the horizon in the warm hues of lingering twilight as it transitioned into the blue hour. The dewy grass in the courtyard below appeared to sparkle with every movement of the wind, as if it were covered in thousands of tiny, glistening diamonds that reflected the palate of colors in the sky.
You stepped out onto your balcony to take in the subtle beauty of serene night.
As a poet, you were often inspired by the natural beauty that surrounded you.
You had a passion for words and a love for language and expression. Your pen was your key to the world and it unlocked possibilities unknown to others and, sometimes, even to yourself. Your writings were an expression of your soul, of your deepest feelings and private, inner thoughts.
You shared your heart in ink and crafted words that would encapsulate your very essence.
When it came as naturally as the setting sun, you could see the beauty and nuance of life through the lens of poetry, capturing your thoughts in ways as brilliant and as dazzling as light itself.
Your dreams were just as bright and left streaks of color across the page every time your dared to pick up a pen, even though you could be highly critical of yourself and of your writing; your prose was background noise to your everyday thoughts, but to others, it was the crescendo of consequence, the resonant tones that were so often felt, but rarely put into the right words.
This time, however, you were struggling as anyone else would be, to find the correct words for how you felt.
You were uninspired and, though you had time to collect your thoughts and clear your mind to make room for new ideas, it seemed hopeless as you were at a loss for where to begin.
The sound of someone clearing their throat behind you startled you and you turned, coming face to face with Wonka who was respectfully removing his hat as he stepped out onto the balcony to greet you.
“I see you’re still experiencing a bit of difficulty coming up with an idea of what to write about,” he said, voice as soft as rain as it blanketed and clung to you like a warm summer drizzle.
You nodded; you were a bit troubled by the fact that you had been suffering from writer’s block for weeks now.
Typically, when you wanted to write, you were able to, but right now no such case had been made. You were struggling to find the motivation to create, a debilitating scenario Wonka had found himself fallen victim to numerous times in his life, and one he did not wish to see you suffer through alone.
His large, warm hand rested on the small of your back as he stood beside you on the balcony he had installed off the back of the factory, unseen by passersby on the main road out front. It afforded the two of you the opportunity to be outside and to enjoy the fresh air without being swarmed by the public. It was risky enough to go down to the courtyard; with Wonka’s worldwide renown, he did best to stay out of the public eye as much as possible, lest anyone decide to sneak onto the property for one reason or another, putting both of you at risk of harm.
If staying inside of his beloved factory while the rest of the world waited on his doorstep kept him and yourself safe, he would have locked the door and thrown away the key (again.)
Still, it was nice to have a way of escape from the sometimes-oppressive feeling of being inside all the time and so you often came out here when you felt that you needed more space.
Privacy was deeply important to the both of you, but it was difficult to come by these days.
Wonka gazed out across the sprawling complex of his factory.
He had built an empire that stretched several blocks.
It was an impressive sight, but nothing quite like the way his pupils expanded in the waning light, robin’s egg blue irises spiraling with shimmering, springtime whimsy.
A small smile spread across your face; if you could not be swayed by the natural beauty of the world around you, then perhaps you should cast your eyes upon the man who had become your whole world and let yourself become delighted by his elegant beauty.
Wonka turned to you and the look in his eye indicated that he had not expected to see you smiling at him, yet without missing a beat, he returned your grin with his own, “you know, I’ve got just the thing that might help you.”
This was unexpected.
It was not unusual for Wonka to do his best to help you through any tough or difficult situations, especially where and when creativity was involved.
However, when he offered you anything, you always kept up your guard at first.
As much as you loved him, Wonka was and always had been somewhat unpredictable.
“Willy,” you began with uncertainty, “I don’t know if it’s any one thing that might help me, rather than inspiration as a whole.”
Your intent was to discourage him from anything extravagant.
He was already turning away from the balcony railing and making his way inside. He paused in the doorway and looked at you with a mischievous glint in his sharp blue eyes, “perhaps what I have to give you will spark that very inspiration that you seek.”
He had a point, though you were still unsure, but what choice did you have?
You trusted him perhaps more than you trusted yourself and that was saying something.
Without another thought against the matter, you turned and followed him.
Wonka led you back through your private living quarters and down the hall, past the library and to a little room at the end of the hall that he had kept you out of under the guise of it being nothing but extra storage space. You had never questioned him on this. After all, this was his space and though you had recently become a permanent resident, you had yet found a reason to explore this particular room and therefore what secrets it held were unknown to you.
He paused with his hand on the knob; he was beaming from ear to ear like he was about to tell you the punchline of a joke.
“Are you ready, my dear?” he could barely contain his excitement.
His energy was infectious and you found yourself on the edge of your seat in terms of anticipation as you nodded and waited for him to open the door.
He turned the knob and pushed the door inward. As it swung open, you let out a little gasp at the sight you beheld: it was a perfect, quaint and quiet little space with hardwood floors and several rugs of various colors and styles that were perfect accent pieces someone like Wonka would have acquired at one point or another in his life. There was a bookcase against the right wall, fully stocked with reading materials, writing guides, poetry collections, anthologies and dictionaries.
Several small shelves had been installed which housed candles of various shapes, sizes, colors and scents as well as a few succulents and houseplants, one of which you noticed was a string of pearls with strands stretching near to the floor. A plush-looking armchair took up residency in the left corner near the door, along with a modest little end table and a lamp that looked like it had been brought straight from the nineteenth century.
What caught your eye much more than any of the décor, however, was the writing desk which sat against the far wall in front of a large picture window overlooking half the Wonka factory complex and half of the city it occupied.
The desk itself was unobtrusive and plain, wooden, with a small hutch above for storing papers and documents. It seemed almost like a schoolteacher’s desk and perhaps it had been at one time, yet the most noticeable aspect of its structure was that the desk appeared to have been sawed in half.
All the air left your lungs…could it be?
As if he could hear your thoughts, Wonka spoke up, “I knew I had kept the other half of my desk, but I couldn’t remember where I had put it. The Oompa Loompas were clearing out one of our storage rooms when they discovered it. So, in the greatest of secrecy, I had them help me bring it in and design the perfect writing room for you. Now, you have your own quiet space to work and perhaps a little inspiration could be born from this new environment.”
You were utterly speechless, yet your mind was a trove of questions and curiosities as your eyes scanned the room; you tried to take in everything at once, but there was far too much in your immediate line of sight everywhere you looked that it was impossible to focus.
How had he managed to do all this right under your nose, without you having ever been the wiser?
That was, perhaps, what made him who he was.
Wonka was a mystery, a whimsical force of nature who did as he pleased and laughed in the face of any nay-sayer. He could achieve any impossibility, regardless of impracticality.
He was also a diligent worker and was devoted to his ideas and whims. When he decided to do something, somehow, it always got done.
Knowing that the Oompa Loompas had helped with this project warmed your heart.
The sweet little elfin creatures who ran Wonka’s factory were more like family than mere workers and you could tell that they had lovingly created a space that would feel safe and cozy for you to work. Your mind was already buzzing with ideas of how to properly thank them for their contributions.
“So, do you like it, my dear?”
Wonka’s gentle voice garnered your attention and your loving gaze landed on him for the first time since you had entered the room. A smile as bright and as warm as the sun split across your face, “oh, I love it! It’s perfect! I can’t thank you enough, Willy. How can I ever repay you?”
“Oh, you needn’t worry about that,” Wonka amicably placed a hand on your shoulder, “your joy is payment enough. I sincerely hope that this will help spark some creativity, since you’ve had a bit of trouble lately.”
“I know it will,” your tone spoke of reassurance, for him and for yourself.
You were certain you would feel inspired here, not just within this room, but inside the entire Wonka factory.
You had perhaps put too much pressure on yourself to get inspired out of your own desire to create when there was a whole little world here in which you could draw inspiration from, if not from the factory itself, from the man who had made it all a reality.
Wonka was truly magnificent in many ways, yet you were the most enamored by just one: he loved you so much that he would do something so simple, yet so profound, for the sake of helping and to bring you happiness, never asking for anything in return or making you feel guilty for accepting the help and gesture of kindness.
As a small child, your dreams of romance included the most basic of needs being met, but also of someone, a nameless, faceless partner to be filled in at a later date, showing deeper interest in you beyond that which was surface level, born not out of selfish motivations, but rather of a deeper desire for connection and an interest in who you were.
Someone with no familial connection or obligation, who wanted to love you because they chose to, despite everything that you felt made you unappealing and undesirable.
Wonka made you feel seen in ways you hadn’t known were possible until he enlightened you and now.
He was much more than what you yearned for in the past; he replaced your idea of romance with a real one.
You were finally chosen.
Never had you been so grateful to have such a unique existence.
“And I know exactly what I’m going to write about first.”
Wonka looked at you with a hint of surprise on his face, “is that right?”
You nodded.
“And what might your subject be?”
You looked at him lovingly, heart practically beating out of your chest as you uttered, “Us.”
How different things might have been had you known that this entire time, you were waiting for him.

hii! this is the mac/vanilla anon. may i know how did you make your build/gameplay screenies looks so pretty, vibrant and looks like they have dof? your screenies straight up look like you have reshade on and im so. WOAH<333 sorry if this ask sounds so weird but i play on mac too and my game looks so atrocious HSJFKEJFJ
oh my gOD thank u so much that is the nicest compliment i could ever receive 😭<3 i totally understand the game looking like pure garbage it's tough out there for mac players 💔 here's my
~editing process of a sad mac user~
i use Photopea to edit everything. free and online, what's not to love!
oil paint filter with a radius of 0.8 to 1, lighting off
smart sharpen with a radius of 1.4 (these first two steps don't often do too much but can smooth out the edges of the pixels without having to play with edge smoothing on)
i like a bit of chromatic aberration so i go into channels, select red, and apply a lens correction filter of 3 (go back to regular channel afterwards)
to fake DOF - i use the quick selection tool and mess around with it until the foreground or preferred focus of the image is selected (doesn't have to be totally perfect, often times people won't be looking that close). then inverse the selection and apply lens blur, typically with a radius of 12 to 15 ----- (the selection part can be a real bitch - sometimes there just isn't enough contrast between the foreground and the background for Photopea to understand which specific section ur trying to select. in cases where it rlly refuses to work i've had to go in and use the polygonal lasso select tool and manually trace what i want to be in focus akjsdhfj)
apply photoshop actions to adjust colours - lately pretty much the only one i've been using is wooldawn's warmerfalls sometimes combined with intramoon's bright and saturated
sometimes i will apply a gradient fill layer (often the purple to orange one) and set the blending mode to luminosity, opacity 12 if there's a light source that i want to emphasise a little more. it also just adds a nice softening effect
for funky rainbow effects - look up "rainbow light leak overlay" and download any u like the look of. open and place them on top of ur image, fit them to size, change the blending option to exclusion, lower the opacity to desired outcome. to make the colours of the rainbow *pop* a lil more i like to duplicate the layer and change the blending option to overlay, though u may have to lower the opacity of this layer even more as it darkens the image quite a bit
i add a film dust texture over a lot of my posts! i downloaded a set a while back but i don't remember where from, sorry :( there are a bunch out there if u look it up i'm sure!
and that's about it! it seems like a lot written out but i'm self taught and technologically inept so it's all actually pretty basic when u know where all the buttons are in Photopea heh ;D thanks again for liking my posts!! it means the world u have no idea <3
#sORRY this is so long i had no idea how else to format it otherwise it would just be a mess of a paragraph jfhkjsdfh#answered

hey y’all, so here is my lame and ugly editing tutorial / normal routine that i do to my screens for my story, or any random edit i do. so i use two programs, gimp and pixlr. i use gimp primarily to blur my background or to apply a lens flare. for pixlr, i use it to resize, add light effect layers, text, and basically other photo editing options like contrast, brightness adjustment, etc. but for this tutorial specifically i’ll be only highlighting how i blur my pictures and add light leaks/layers onto them. :) thought i’d put this out there since there are some that are like me, without photoshop (or reshade) and are wondering how else to get their pics lookin cool n pretty -- check out the details below the cut to see how i do it! ;) !!if your mobile im so sorry lol!!
step one: open up your gimp program and pull up the desired photo you’d like to edit. i normally keep my resolution at 66.7%. make sure the program also opens up a toolbox (sometimes it doesn’t, if it doesn’t go onto the top headers under Tools and then click Toolbox and then it should appear).
step two: so to BLUR my bg, look at your toolbox, and click the Lasso Tool i circled on the picture above. now, unlike photoshop where it’ll be able to outline automatically, on gimp you unfortunately have to freehand it (the struggle, i know, but you can do it lmao) so i basically outline along the edges of my sim and then make my way around so it can capture the background to be blurred. once you’ve connected your first point to your second, it’ll show up outlined like above.
step three: on the top of the screen there’s header options (lol idk how else to term this) to implement the blur action click Filters and as the picture shows, the drop down menu will have a Blur option, hover over it and click Focus blur. this is what i personally use, there are other options for blurring as seen.
step four: once you click Focus blur, this will pop up. it will show you a preview of how it will look and has options to change its type of depth, just play around with it til you’re content with it (ex on the tab Model --> Softness option which can increase the depth of blur also). however i just go with its automatic settings and click ok.
step five: now because you have to freehand with the Lasso tool, you will come across imperfections when outlining your sim. so after you’ve done the Focus blur, there will be patches of very obvious un-blurred parts around the sim. so to fix this what i do is click the Convolve tool. this is just a freehand tool to blur things out (which you can also do if you’re lazy or impatient at trying to outline the sim with the Lasso tool)
step six: so once you’ve clicked the Convolve tool, this box should pop up. on the picture to the left, click the black dot and it’ll open up different types of brushes seen above. choose the biggest dark dot. this will then change the option that’s seen next to it ‘Hardness 100′, however it says 200 because i manually put that to make it a stronger depth. (going any higher though doesn’t do anything). then, on the right, you can mess with the size bar to change the size of the tool. you’d make it like 100-500 if you want to blur out a big portion of the picture, or around 10-50 if you’re getting into small cracks and creases of a picture or detailed areas. and that’s it for blurring! now save your photo by going File --> Export As --> Export.
OKAY that is all for GIMP, now onto PIXLR:
step one: so you have your pixlr program open, open up the picture you just saved from Gimp by pulling up File --> Open Image. i first like to resize my pictures first, i resize it to 800x430. after resizing them i’ll add my light leaks/effects. i basically grab these photos from google, all i enter in is “light leak overlays” and pick whichever i like and save it to my desktop. i also make sure the size of the pictures i find are at least 1,000x wide. i normally only use two layers for my pictures, one will be seen below.
step two: to open up that layer onto the picture, go under the header options Layer --> Open Image As Layer, so find the picture on your desktop and upload it. this will be called Layer 1. the more layers you add, it’ll then just be called Layer 2, 3, so forth...
step three (optional): it should then pop up like this over your image. hover onto the Move Layer cursor that i circled above to move the image around so that you can get the light leaks in a place you desire for the photo. but of course if you’re already content with where its at, just move on to the next step.
step four: once you’ve got your layer in your desired spot, go on to the right hand side, and there’ll be boxes and one of them will say Layers. make sure Layer 1 is highlighted as that will show the changes you’re about to make to the photo, if its not highlighted you will not see results. to make your original photo visible with the layer effect still on, click on Mode: Normal and a dropdown menu will appear. Choose Screen (can also do Layer). then mess with the Opacity so that you can both see the original photo as well as the light leak. i normally set my opacity to 50-60%, it’s not too harsh on the light and not too dim. just right. ;) lmao
step five: so the picture above is basically the after-look. (i also added another layer which is that light leak on the side, same process). and just to do my touch ups, i use the Sharpen tool for my sims’ faces or any details i want to stand out. then this is where i mess with other adjustments like brightness, saturation, etc, add grain. all of those options can be found under the Adjustments and Filter tabs. and like i wrote above, make sure on the Layers box, the Background is highlighted in blue as that’s the layer you are working on now.
and VOILA, this should be your result. (ft my ever so lovely Luna<3)
!!please please if you have any questions don’t be afraid to drop me an ask. this was probably horribly explained! i tried! but this is also my little give back to my followers! thanks for 800 and almost nearing 900! you guys r da best. kisses n hugs to you all <333!!

(almost) every anon ask since fall 2016
if u havent noticed i am BAD at answering asks so here’s a Big Dump of most of the asks i’ve gotten in the past few months
ps; i’ve excluded pokemon suggestions bc i plan on getting to them at some point
Hihihi!!! What brushes do you use in fire alpaca?? i dont do much in firealpaca (esp not lately lol) but when i did use it a lot i just used the fill bucket and the standard/default brush to fill in gaps n such lol! i dont really draw in it, i used flash/adobe animate for the lineart and just fill in color in firealpaca :3
when did you start animating? uhh when i was around 11 or 12 when i started digital art i guess? i just used photoshop for the longest time then got flash when i was like 15 or so
How did you get flash? i got the creative cloud dealie, its technically required for my school :—-0
hello!! what are you majoring in in vcu?? im thinking about going there for college im in communication arts! omg cool lmk if u come here ill tell u where to get the best bubble tea
how many fps do you use for your wiggly animations? i work at 24 fps in flash on twos but just end up using photoshop’s 0 second frame delay/ “no delay”?
Hey love your animations! What do you animate with? adobe animate 2017! (previously flash)
You mentioned a YouTube channel but I can’t seem to find a link to it? Do you post processes on there? https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCovvoZxlQjFaIA7A3w_94Zw theres not much atm but i plan on posting a lot more, including process/speedpaints!
i really like your art style gosh darn!!! everythings so fluid and stylized and nice aaa (also ur animations are goals) do u have any tips for someone still developing their artstyle???? WAH TYSM!!!!! compile art you already like and incorporate aspects from their styles into yours, BUT dont limit urself to one style! if u like something then try it out! do straight up copies (as PRACTICE, DONT CLAIM IT as your own ofc) of stuff you like to see how they work and what you’re clicking with. spending time on fundamentals is MEGA helpful so keep going back to that too! USE REFERENCES!!! draw …from ur soul…what makes u ..FEEL good
how do you make that burn effect on your lineart? it makes it your pieces look sharper and even more interesting, it’s super cool!! when i used to use flash for lineart and firealpaca for coloring a lot, setting the lineart layer on BURN with the coloring layer seeping a lil past the lineart would get this effect automatically
(like on the whiskers. u can see it gets a brighter brown(?) and the warmer yellow on the ears)
but since then i’ve been using sai+photoshop more so i just do it manually! i’ll use this funny pic of me and my cat as an example lol
^i select the lineart/everything i want the funky color around
^slam that INCREMENT button a couple times
^make a new layer under the lineart
^fill that puppo with ur preferred color! something brighter works best, or even straight up white
that’ll give you something like this
then i open it in photoshop
and i mess with the pink line layer’s blending mode..color burn usually does the trick but depending on the Look you’re going for, saturation, multiply and overlay have some similar effects that look cool.
i also usually get rid of the outermost edge of pink line that’s visible around the lineart, just so it looks a little cleaner? to do that you just select around your lineart, increment/expand selection, and delete/erase in the selection of the pink line layer
uhh yeah! lmk if anyone needs clarification on this, i have some other #TIPS on makin ur art look crusty and funky so…lemme know if you’re interested :—3
What do you use to animate? And, a more specific question, how do you make transparent animated gifs? adobe animate 2017! (previously flash) i export my animation from flash as a png sequence then open it in photoshop, where the background will be transparent and save it as a gif from there nyaaa
if anyone needs more clarification lmk and i’ll make a proper walkthrough :-0
Hello!! Ur art is rlly pretty and so inspirational and nice to look at!! 💗💗 I was wonderin’ if ya had any tips on choosing shapes for characters? Like, when you draw shapes for a certain character, it looks rlly like it fits with the character’s personality n stuff!! ( e.g: Your Love Live! drawings!! The characters look so good in your style.) I’ve always admired how u did that n was hoping for some tips maybe?? Anyways, have a good day!!💛💖💟💜💝💞💖 HOOGA!! TYSM!!! and YEA you basically guessed it, i mainly just think about the character’s personality and translate that into a shape or Pheeling…
especially for anime characters i look at the Very Subtle differences in the character’s original design..or possibly canon implications…for example kotori has slightly different eyes (it also says on her wiki page she has soft droopy eyes!) so i make sure to incorporate that Detãile
anime wiki pages that have details like that is nice, for love live they have cute lil “charm points” which is really cool n helpful! listening to how a character is described in their world can give clues to what differentiates them which you can make more clear in your design
taking into account each characters context is good too, what they do/hobby/personality and how that could affect their appearance/posture/attitude
YEAH its really fun to figure out certain characteristics and make it evident in their appearance! or. idk thats just what i do lol. hopefully this helps!
Have you ever seen the anime jojos bizarre adventure? alas i have not..i have some friends whom are into it so i’ll prob end up watching it sometime lol
sorry if this is obvious but!! are you the creator of Fork and Knife: Food Fighters?? your gif of fork is super cute btw!! yes i am!! wah tysm!!
Hey my little sister found your animation on an online art gallery and she really loved it! omg cool, thanks so much!!

(⑅ ‘﹃’ ) = What the character daydreams or thinks about AND/OR (/□\*)・゜ = What makes the character blush. TURNABOUT IS FAIR PLAY, MISAKI ITO. (
(( ALRIGHT ALRIGHT ALRIGHT LET’S GO ))
Misaki lay on the soft, woven mat she had stretched out on the warm sand of the Mist. Above her, the night sky was stippled with silver lights that glinted and reflected off of the quiet sea. A full moon hung by invisible thread illuminated the world around her, and as beautiful as the setting was, her mind was in a far different place– a few different places.
It was her twenty second namesday, and she was fondly recalling the night of her nineteenth, spent in the frigid early spring ocean with Lucius as he struggled to look cross with her for dragging him in. He had cradled her face so tenderly in his hands and met her eyes, searching them intently, softly. Misaki lifted a hand in the present day to touch her cheek where his calloused but gentle fingertips had so gently cradled. He was not a man who liked to be touched, but more often than not he had reached for her to keep her close. His touches were earnest and honest and careful, with words sweeter than he gave himself credit for slipping off of his tongue.
Misaki recalled the times she had seen the Garlean in little more than his smallclothes, whether it be for a trip to the beach or simply to relax. The most vivid memory was accidentally walking in on him as he changed, and he was revealed in full. Her face burned with embarrassment, but the image was too pleasant for her to possibly regret. A tall man, toned and lean and sinewy with muscle, with broad shoulders and scars along his torso. His dark hair fell against his forehead, his bright blue eyes widening when they spotted the Doman in the doorway. She had scurried away before seeing his reaction in full, but her mind strayed back to the mental image of the man in similar settings more often than she’d care to admit.
The thought of his arms around her made her cheeks warm, and she tried to shrug it off, to no avail. She wished he was there with her, in that moment, to murmur in her ear and brush the hair from her face, to press his lips against hers as he held her. The way he spoke to her was forever honest; flattery was not something he offered to her, but compliments he meant from the heart were. It was foreign to her, really, to receive sweet words that were not saturated and honeyed. Lucius’ affections were made known by his willingness - his desire - to be close to her. The thought of his smile, however rare it was, made her cheeks flare even more with color that she was unaccustomed to. Her mind was filled with drifting daydreams of a man she so adored, and Misaki found that she was smiling to herself with her eyes half-lidded, heart pounding gently in her chest.
Her mind strayed elsewhere, too, as she felt the warmth in her cheeks, to something far more fraternal. It went to the fire in both Iriel’s eyes and fingertips as he rescued her from the grips of a man intent upon harming her. His voice rumbled in her ears, warm and familiar, as he soothed her with tears streaming hot and thick from her eyes. She had run to this tutor-turned-brother more times than she could count, and forever had he welcomed his ‘little fey’ eagerly and warmly. Gentle touches to her face when she seemed distant, embraces when she needed them, a listening ear when her heart ached; Iriel was a friend who had proved invaluable and loyal.
Lucius and Iriel were two men vastly different as regards to their place in Misaki’s heart, but both of them affected her profoundly in ways she thought she’d become numb to. Pretty compliments had been bestowed upon her since childhood, though there was always some sort of motive behind them– almost always, anyway. However, the warmth showed to her by a lover and by a brother was entirely and completely genuine. They wanted nothing from her but her happiness and company. She dwelt on them and smiled, ignoring the heat in her cheeks.
She was a difficult creature to make blush, or to fluster. Real kindness, though - real affection - was a surefire way to flush her cheeks with color, and a way to keep her mind drifting into the sweetest, softest daydreams. The touches to her face and the petting of her hair meant two different things to the two men, but it moved her regardless; their gestures, their words, their actions proved to her she was truly loved. It felt as though it had been a lifetime since she felt it in full.
