For this ship, I thought it would be funny if Nepeta was dragged from the dead to annoy Caliborn and was protected from his murdererness literally by the meta power of dodging bullets because she is too loved by the audience (in the same way that Gamzee cant die just because Hussie said so).

So now Caliborn has to deal with talking to a girl irl and getting the consequences of his shittiness front and center.

I expect a lot of fighting and a lot of meddling in each other's business. Nepeta infiltrating his chats with the humans, influencing each other's shipping and art, Nepeta actually taking an interest and encouraging him underhandedly making him seek out her praise.

Caliborn also getting to be really into both 'being put in his place' (so he'll start arguments just for the sake of getting her to yell at him, something she'll catch up on), and having some unexpectedly, deliciously, disGUSTINGLY wholesome moments of getting closer to each other (Nepeta exploits the hell out of his tsundere flusterdness from simple stuff like a small touch or friendly words making him scream and run away.)

This is cringe but funny as all hell to me, hehe. I'm thriving a bit.

every time i have brainworms about luz and hunter i go through your "luz and hunter being siblings makes me want to eat recycled cardboard" tag. it caught on a little with other luz and hunter sibling enjoyers but i just really like your art of them. the tag really captures the feeling of seeing these two. personally i want to wring them like a hand towel but i feel like your tag has a clearer vibe.

Okay to address everything else — I’m so on the ground that you like my art of these little losers that much! That you’ve come back to look multiple times makes my insides all goey I love to hear that the feeling of munching on cardboard or twisting them like a hand towel (which lemme tell you is a great visualization i love it!!) makes its way to you. When I draw them I try my best to just feel that feeling the whole way through. They’re my favorite pair from the show they’re just!!! Little bugs when you pick up a rock!! Brother and sister duo I love them endlessly and pittwins enjoyers are precious and lovely people — I’ve found so many good people through the siblings. I hope I can make so much more art to fit in that tag so you can see something new every time you get brainworms my friend!!!

Just based on art I feel like you played a lot of visual novels and/or dating sims. I’m thinking like katawa shojou or hatoful boyfriend, stuff from that era. Not sure where I’m getting that particular vibe though, maybe it’s the eyes? I could be totally projecting tbh.

i've played games that have dating sim mechanics like harvest moon and persona but other than that not really? and as far as visual novels go the only ones ive really gotten into are the more gamified ones like danganronpa/ace attorney/999. i have hatoful boyfriend in my steam library but i must admit i've never played it!

i do love the melty goey look of early 00's vn characters tho. they're like crusty little white dogs to me.

im very inspired by early 90's/00's anime in general so that may be the vibe youre picking up lol

The Girls of Galaga

The one in the middle is Queen Galaga herself, and she's acompanied by her best warriors Goei (left) and Zako.

He gave me a selection of "video-game-inspired" characters and asked me to select which ones I will make.

Vandaag, zaterdag 8 april, is het de sterfdag van Gerard. Hij wilde altijd de Dood omarmen maar had daar ook veel moeite mee. Op 8 april 2006 was het zover.

Wij beschrijven zijn sterfdag en de emotionele dagen daarna gedetailleerd in ons in 2012 verschenen boek Ons Leven Met Reve. Dit najaar zal uitgeverij de Bezige Bij ons boek opnieuw uitgeven, uitgebreid met een nabeschouwing door Tijger en nieuwe foto's uit onze collectie. Gerard vroeg ons altijd om het boek Ons Leven Met Reve te schrijven, waarin moest staan hoe verschrikkelijk slecht en verdorven hij was. Maar dat kwam er voorlopig niet van.

Zoals u weet is dit jaar trouwens het honderdste geboortejaar van Gerard, 1923-2023.

Daarom organiseren wij de volgende activiteiten:

Arti et Amicitiae Amsterdam: Vrijdagavond 26 mei EEN HOMMAGE AAN GERARD. In samenwerking met Mieke Prinse en Renée Hartog. Een uitgebreid feestelijk programma. Onder andere lezen Tijger en Woelrat geheime liefdesbrieven voor die Gerard hun schreef.

Gerard Reve Museum in de OBA: omstreeks 1 juli opening fototentoonstelling WIMIE, DE VERGETEN PARTNER. Nooit eerder getoonde foto's die Gerard en Wimie, -Wim Schuhmacher-, van elkaar maakten. In samenwerking met Ton van de Laar, conservator/beheerder van het Gerard Reve Museum in de Centrale OBA Amsterdam.

Blauwhuis en Greonterp: dinsdagmiddag 15 augustus, het feest van de TENHEMELOPNEMING VAN DE GLORIEVOLLE EN GEZEGENDE MAAGD, tevens herdenking van Gerard zijn leven en werk. In samenwerking met Hester Witteveen.

Gerard Reve Museum in de OBA: omstreeks 1 november, opening fototentoonstelling SIMON EN GERARD. Tijger en Woelrat fotografeerden Gerard, Simon Carmiggelt en zijn vrouw Tiny Carmiggelt - de Goey bij verschillende ontmoetingen. In samenwerking met Ton van de Laar.

zaterdag 11 november: het programma OBA LIFE Theodor Holman in gesprek met Teigetje en Woelrat.

Voor de genoemde activiteiten ontvangt u te zijner tijd de uitnodiging.

Hierbij ter herinnering aan Gerard een niet eerder gepubliceerde foto van Gerard met Teigetje en Woelrat, gemaakt als fotoproef voorafgaande aan onze u welbekende ' trouwfoto', in de Kleine Salon van Huize ' Het Gras' in Greonterp Friesland. Een fragment van het olieverfschilderij Fries Winterlandschap van Frans Lodewijk Pannekoek is zichtbaar op de achtergrond.

There's some good stuff in there, although I dont know if I would call you Cassandra as most of these are insights and opinions rather than truths. Anyhow, here are the 2 places that got a bit sticky with me:

(1) RE Timmy not supporting Armie publicly: I gather you wanted to say this was a failure on Timmy's part. Timmy's statement in the TIMES interview about wanting to either have a proper conversation about it or say nothing at all makes it clear where he stands. It was a roundabout way of supporting Armie. If he wanted to stay completely out of it he wouldnt have allowed that question, as so many others have already pointed out. Moreover it wouldnt bring anything to the table as it would be a friend vouching for Armie. We saw Dakota Johnson say something in support and then, months later, make a cannibal joke at Armie's cost. And the papers didnt cover her flip-flopping! Because people dont care about supporting statements from actors and actresses with only a handful of famous roles . I dont think Dakota could have switched sides if her statement of support got a decent bit of coverage and if a female colleague's support didnt make a ripple then why would a male colleague's support make a difference? But in the end there isnt a clear right or wrong here, there is only pov – some fans will think he was right to say the bare minimum while others will think he was wrong.

(2) RE Timmy's intelligence: yes he rambles a bit, and has a mouth that doesnt keep up with his brain but nothing he's said would make me doubt that he is above-average in education and intelligence. Moreover he got into Columbia University. And not into film studies or some acting degree – it was cultural anthropology!

For some reason I've being seeing a lot of people questioning Tim's intelligence in the last few days. And I get it – people judge you by the company you keep etc – but if someone thinks Tim's shamming then by definition the Kardashian he's dating is a work colleague and not a girlfriend. And if people think he's dumb for shamming with a Kardashian then I woud say he's working smarter and not harder. With a Kardashian, first of all, one date gets ten times more press mileage than any other minor celeb; second – when it's over there's gonna be another bf in her life real soon, so the story of their hookup will get buried quite quickly. Third – its such an odd pairing that, when it ends, people will also get over it soon. (There are some people who are still invested in Lilothee and maybe Tim's team dont want a repeat of that, as in dont want him mentioned in articles about the co-shammer and want fans to move on so that he can be shown in another sham after a reasonable gap of time.) Fans who are upset by this hook up aren't seeing the positive side of it - he has to do less icky goey stuff and gets the same media coverage. If one does decide to sham then this is clearly the way to go. This way its less of a burden on him, since he seems to carry out these charades under quite a bit of stress.

Obviously disclaimer etc; I dont know If the T x K thing is real or not. I am presuming its a PR sham. Also, full disclosure, I am not invested in Timothee Chalamet's personal life. He can stick his dick wherever he wants to as long as he's producing worthy art.

Having a history of offending members of the Charmie fanhood, many of whom will not even see this post since they blocked me, I will nonetheless state my bona fifes openly. I love Armie Hammer and I love Timothée Chalamet. Being older, more educated, and a practicing professional provides me with apparently annoyingly inconvenient insights when discussing the two men I love and the years since CMBYN changed so many lives. The upset in the fandom occasioned by Timmy’s liaison with the Jenner person compels me to express the following. Believe me, my goal is to soothe rather than irritate.

First and foremost, I have said before and repeat here that one of the worst failings we have made in viewing the Charmie myth is that we tend to conflate Armie and Timmy IRL with their characters in CMBYN, Oliver and Elio. Neither man is much like their movie role at all. Briefly, Elio is sensitive, highly educated and intelligent, as well as emotionally vulnerable. Timmy is, based upon his interviews, observed public behaviors, etc., probably none of these. He is, as he says, an engaging goofball. Often he misuses and/or mispronounces words and creates word salad answers to interviewer questions. He’s a player more than a mensch, and his ambition knows no bounds. Armie is more like Oliver than Timmy like Elio, but without the redeeming affection the movie version of Oliver brought to the mutual seduction. The Oliver of the book was far less open and affectionate than movie Oliver, but both men were emotionally insincere, dishonest, and manipulative. Oliver was having a summer fling before finishing his degree, marrying, and getting on with life in both book and movie. Even more publicly than Timmy, Armie is a player who admits to manipulating and using people as personal convenience items. It’s questionable whether he remembers anything 😉, let alone everything.

Similarly, we are willfully blind to the realities of the profession that introduced us to Armie and Timmy in the first place. Show biz is a relentlessly demanding and often cruel bit of work. Timmy was born into a theatrical family and groomed through auditions and training from an early age. Small wonder that virtually all of the directors he has worked with mention his drive and ambition to succeed. That desire rules Timmy’s life and he is not likely to squander his opportunities as Armie tragically and so unnecessarily did. There is a new article out that captures this essential characteristic, titled the making of a global superstar. Timmy is surrounded by a team that calculates every move the young man makes, scrupulously. For instance, while Armie has loudly proclaimed his heterosexuality, Timmy’s team has assiduously cultivated an aura of androgyny, assuring that both the gay and straight communities can identify with and thereby claim Timmy as one of their own. The revision of Lee in Bones and All from jock to bisexual predatory adventurer is a classic example. So, in short, almost anything in the public eye should be viewed through the lens of this effort to promote Timmy to the highest artistic and popular levels of his profession. Most of you will hate this, but Timmy’s utter and complete failure to utter one supportive word about Armie, once his role model and mentor, throughout the shitstorm that Armie’s professional and personal life became. Many no doubt wish and fervently hope that there is still a viable bond between these men, but if there is, it requires a very steep price from one of them.

Before I go, one little observation that I hope will bring some solace regarding the PDAs seen at the Beyoncé concert. Kissing is an expression of intimacy that is usually accompanied by intense mutual gaze. Both participants in these lip locks looked directly toward the camera the second the kiss ended, not at each other. Telling…,
