I now just have the mental image of Trapper setting up like a tiny clinical building in Hollow Earth or Earth. When Kong takes the Apes to get checked up on by Trapper, it’s like a long line of Apes nervously waiting outside this teeny tiny building to get their first check up in their LIVES. 😂😂😂 By the end of it they get giant lollipops🤣🤣🤣

And the Apes start noticing how everyone looks happier after their check-up and they skip away with a big damn lollipop, and soon word spreads: Human doctor... nice? Human doctor... give treat? Human doctor... FRIEND!

Godzilla Against MechaGodzilla (2002) is by far one of my favorite Godzilla films; absolutely blown away by the suit designs and the musical score. Human characters were pretty good too !!

Hard to overstate how much American Godzilla fans was clamoring for Anguirus to return when I first got into fandom at the tail end of the Millennium series. His last film appearance at the time was Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1974), having been shut out of the Heisei era as the 1990s codified Toho's Big Five kaiju. Nobody had heard about the Anguirus Hound from various early versions of Godzilla vs. Destoroyah yet, but they sure knew how close he came to starring in GMK. Godzilla Final Wars, for all its controversies, finally brought him back to an outpouring of joy. But though he's made plenty of appearances in the current abundant era of Godzilla media, he's yet to have a substantial role in a Reiwa or Monsterverse film. Maybe it's time to resurrect the Movement.

Oh wow. Hiya Toys has announced a figure of possibly my Third Favorite Godzilla suit, the 2002 or KiryuGoji suit from Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla.

This is scheduled for late 2025 and apparently priced around $51.

I gotta say it's not as good as their Godzilla 2000 figure, but I do think this is a hard suit to get right somehow. A lot of the figures I see of it seem to be vaguely off-model, including the various X-Plus statues.

Regardless, I need it in my life.

I like to think Kong would hold any of the Apes’ hand when they have to get a rotted or broken tooth pulled out by Trapper. Like

Ape: I feel dizzy and funny… what did the human doctor put in me?!?

Kong: That’s just medicine to numb the pain.

*Ape watches Trapped getting closer to his mouth *

Ape: I’m not sure I like this…

*Kong holds Ape’s hand*

Kong: It will hurt a little but you’ll be able to eat without mouth pain.

*Ape nods and lets Trapper into their mouth. Squeezing Kong’s hand the entire time*

Trapper: Good news, I got the tooth out! But bad news, I do have two more to yank out. Sorry big fella.

Ape: *scared face*

Trapper: BETTER NEWS! You get to have a treat after we're done! There you are, mate, you're handling it like a champ!

Kong: *translating all this for the Ape*

Ape: Oh... a treat sounds nice... nobody's called me a champ before!
