          he should not be here.  he should not be anywhere,  really,  but who's keeping score     ?     exile after exile and he's finally found his way back home     (     or at least a home,  one he's paying for instead of his cousins     )     against all odds.  he's making a name for himself,  unattached to the kauls,  only tangentially involved with no peak.  he studies and studies and studies and just when he thinks he's exhausted himself,  he offers his mediocre medical knowledge and care and that's the extent of it.  he cannot afford to spend himself further,  cannot lend a hand to another if he is intent on surviving himself.  still,  he approaches with his palms facing out,  steps slow and voice quiet.  glasses slip down his nose and he doesn't move to push them back up.     "     is that blood yours or someone else's     ?     let me help.  if you're injured,  i know more than basic first aid.     "

acanthus : is your muse deceptive , or willing to lie or deceive to achieve certain means ? why or why not ?

yes, brad can be deceptive and is more than willing to lie and deceive to achieve certain means. most of brad's life is a lie that he is living. he fully believes that you need to lie sometimes to get ahead and to get what you want. he's not an inherently dishonest person and he recognizes when it is important to tell the truth. the 'worst' lie he has probably told is that he is guilty of insider trading, and he lies about why he took the fault for that crime too. says it's because he wanted the street cred, but he really took the blame to save a friend who was double crossed by his brother.

basil : does your muse have a love - hate relationship with anyone or anything ?

any of his 'friends'. even though he will deny it, his mythic quest co workers are like his friends and family. he loves them and cares a lot about them, but he will deny that firmly. he doesn't like getting close to people and quite frankly it scares him. he's always worried about being betrayed.

begonia : how cautious is your muse ? are they prone to noticing red flags , or paranoid to the point of untrusting most everyone ? why or why not ?

brad's got a boatload of trust issues and he has had them for years. he never fully trusts someone and is always on edge about peoples true intentions. it only got worse after zack had showed up to mythic quest. he's always worried that someone is plotting his downfall. it's part of the reason why he is always plotting and scheming. he wants to remain on top. he had been hurt terribly by his brother as well as the rest of his family. so he's always kind of walking on eggshells when it comes to forming connections and relationships with others.

Embracing Our Calling Reflecting on Isaiah 61:1 Bringing Hope and Healing

Good morning, everyone! Let's reflect on Isaiah 61:1: “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners.” This verse declares God's mission for us, empowering us to bring hope and healing. We are called to share good news, comfort the brokenhearted, and offer freedom to those in despair. In our daily lives, we can be vessels of God's love and compassion, making a difference through kindness, help, and presence for those in need. Remember, you are anointed for this purpose, carrying God's love within you. Embrace this calling with joy and courage, knowing God's transformative power can reach many hearts through us. The Peace of Submitting to God’s Story | Galatians 6:16

It's all for God. It's his mission, his people, and his glory, not yours.

We are days away from beginning the book of 1 Samuel. So remember to visit our website and secure your copy of the 1 Samuel Scripture Journal. Pick it up so you're fully prepared to dive into this study.

And as for all who walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.— Galatians 6:16

As Paul closes this letter, he wants the Galatians to know that they don't get to have their way with God's story. It's God's story about Israel. They only get to tell the story as it is. While there are Judaizers who want to modify and adjust it to their liking, God does not like this.

I have often repeated a maxim that echoes this idea. It goes like this: The church is God's people, on God's mission, for God's glory. I repeat this maxim to myself to remind myself, as a leader and other leaders, that God is the only leader. We are merely followers of God even though he might give us the task of shepherding a few sheep in our lifetime.

But as Paul clarifies, this is the best way to walk. It's to walk by this rule because it is the only way to find the peace and mercy we want and need.

Friend, this is the most peaceful way to live life. Let God be God. Live by his rules, and don't make up your own. Are you ready to submit to his rules again?

God, we submit our lives to you today. We remember again that you are telling your story for your glory, not our own. Father, may we follow you all our days and walk in all your ways. Amen.
