i love your riddle design so much, he's so pointy and british. so gracious. do you think he would enjoy a brazilian goiabada
thank you! ❤️🖤❤️ it's just. important to me on a level I can't explain that Riddle have an extremely pointy nose that he can stick into everyone else's business.
also goiabada is sweet and fruity and red, I think he would like it very much indeed!
not me stealth-editing because I forgot his antenna whoops
The fact that Main-verse Ooo is as good and as kind as it is (relative to the other universes shown so far, at least, it's obviously not perfect) all because of the same character that starts off as the OG series' antagonist, the person we were made to see as the bad guy (albeit an often ineffectual one) for several seasons, is making me lose my mind.
Imagine finding out the guy you spent your childhood beating up and saving princesses from is in fact a driving catalyst behind you being able to exist, and not only exist but also live in a world that knows what kindness is. All because that man, the same man who you've witnessed do terrible things, once met a little girl and taught her how to be good.
Simon's story really shows us that even if you lose your way and forget how it is to be good yourself, the world keeps the memory for you. That act of love Simon showed Marcy by protecting her and seeing her as more than the monster she thought herself to be created ripples upon ripples, small at first but eventually enough to help give their wreckage of a world—a world that easily could have been forsaken, its goodness overlooked because of its inhospitable remains—a chance to grow into something beautiful. Because of those very same ripples Simon created, the people of Ooo grew up in a world where they know enough about kindness that they were able and willing to spare the 'bad guy' some, to see beyond the wreckage and allow him to grow too.
In saving Marceline, Simon helped to not only to save the world, but also himself.
I'll probably post more detailed and coherent thoughts about my TotJ rewatch later today (now with 30% less yelling), but I have to comment on this little maneuver above.
Mace and Dooku are suddenly attacked from the rear in their confrontation with the Raxus soldiers.
Dooku: Busts out his patented behind-the-back, elegant Makashi defense move.
god i know i said i was tired of making eveerything sad but just imagine timber those first few months of reconnecting and they're both drunk on tim's boat, laying on the deck staring up at the stars and bear turns over to look at tim, his eyes are sad and wet, and he reaches out to touch tim's face as if to make sure tim is really there and not an illusion and tim whispers, "bear?" and bernard smiles a little brokenly and goes, "so how long do i have you for this time?"
there is something sooo fucking good about early seasons ian and mickey, about watching this summer fling turn into something more, the fear that elicited from mickey but him being unable to stop, finding those little moments hidden away and taking all this meaning from small gestures and persevering in dugouts and under bleachers and barely pressed confessions in the back of a church that is soo good for my brain
like i am very glad mickey gets to shout his love for ian from the mountain tops and also beat his love for ian into his dad's face but when he was clenching his teeth shut and his love for ian was coming out regardless ohhhhh baby i was eating
Everyone's getting so heated over evolution right now that I kinda want to say I believe in some secret, third thing for kicks and giggles. Get real gnostic on 'em.
Oh? You believe in evolution? And you believe in creationism? Well *I*, the most learned of individuals, believe that we are actually yet still in our larval stage as a species and will only be able to enter the kingdom of heaven when we grow the exoskeletons which will make it so our flesh can handle the gaze of God, like a REAL Christian
Here's a cursed thought for you (3 swapping Dorothy and Plank. You now have to have the unfortunate knowledge of the world's worst swap AU Plank isn't allowed to have confidence
This turned out so bad and cursed......I think I could've made better and more interesting designs if I had taken the time to think about it but I was in a bit of a hurry-
More dnd writing because it's all I have but I here's a snippet from a vignette I did of Rook's past (from Zara's POV), because Rook and his mentors never fails to make me sick (/pos).
[transcript under the cut]
Taking a coin out of her pocket, she rolled it across her knuckles, back and forth. It gave her hands something to do, and prevented the urge to bite her nails, something she hadn’t done in years.
Ten minutes passed, then twenty. Zara began to pace as Rook’s breathing grew shakier and the color drained from his skin. Where the hells is Jay? she wondered. The room was so quiet that she could hear every tick of the small clock on her bedside table, and each one echoed in her head. How many ticks does he have left? She didn’t want to think about it.
She’d had crew members die before, of course. You don’t go as many years as a captain as she had and never lose a soul. But all the others who had died had died quickly, in combat. She’d mourned for all of them, even shed tears in private, but there was something different about watching the life drain out of a person right in front of your eyes.
Kirito: (Okay cool um you just saved this girl’s life and now she just. Won’t even respond. Uh)
Kirito: (Okay offer her the map data. There you go. And some potions. Okay neat now to just)
Kirito: (Put your sword back in the scabbard...swing it around the back and slide it in there. It’ll look SUPER sick if you could just uh)
Kirito: (Um. Uh. Come on we practiced this. Oh my god PLEASE just get into the scabbard? Maybe?)
Kirito:
Kirito: (Nope I missed it again. Oh my god this is so fucking embarrassing)
Kirito: (Haha you know what? You know what. Imma just. Dip. Yeah)
Kirito: ALRIGHT I’M TAKING OFF NOW BYE
Kirito: (I want to die I want to DIE that was awful I feel like I’m going to throw up. I am NEVER trying that trick in front of a cute girl EVER again)
looking back at the novel i wrote when i was 14. i accidentally wrote a really interesting pairing with two of these ocs, and i didn't even notice. like i always kinda felt like Something was missing or out of place but could never put my finger on it, but i'm pretty sure it's the fact there's so much built up for a payoff between these two and then it never really amounts to anything special
