thinking about how in rn after will and ethan just miss benji in the parking lot how will repeatedly yells “she set us up” in fear and anger and now i’m wondering if anyone actually does blame ilsa for benji’s kidnapping

#despite having rewatched this movie less than two weeks ago i’m still fuzzy on exactly what the set up was (or if it was one at all) lol #but like. the potential angst!???!!!!#like what if ilsa comes to work for the imf after and then there’s all this angst of people blaming her for what happened to benji #i think ethan and benji would be quick to forgive her (i mean ethan didn’t even blame her for trying to kill him at the opera #bc ‘she was just doing her job’) and i think benji is just a forgiving person and also sides with ethan about most things #but in an au where benji and will are dating?????#god i think will would absolutely hate ilsa for the longest time #he doesn’t understand why everyone is so quick to forgive her and be friends with her #idkkkk i just want the angst of benji not getting why will hates ilsa and will not getting why benji is friends with her and ahhhhhhh #also rip to me if this dialogue is completely made up on my part but i’m 90% sure i remembered the scene correctly #mission impossible #*
