God, the epic length first episode was SO GOOD, words can’t describe how excited I am for this show. The way Ai’s and Aqua’s eyes shift from black to white to white to black is just French kiss. Frantically the animation on the eyes in this show in general is incredible. Of course it had to be but I’m so glad to see it

I understand why they couldn’t include the ‘15 Year Lie’ interludes, but I do wish they’d show up somewhere somehow, those were the parts of the early chapters that made me realize this story was something special

But also 👀 that little secret at the end of the credits? I LOVE IT

He hummed doing his best to not disrupt you from your spot on the bed “Migraine again, love?” he asked & you groaned in response. Turning the lights off is no hardship, now is closing the curtains or skirting around the flat using only the light of the fish tank & the oven lamp to navigate. He finds no qualms with it as he gently sits on the bed, a hand landing on your knee “Tea? Water? Painkillers? Anything?” he asks voice soft & touches even softer.

“Took painkiller,” you mumbled “Water would be nice though,” you concluded & he hummed pressing a soft kiss to your forehead

“Of course, my darling,” with that he stood & made his way to the kitchen. You can hear a faint muttering or reassurances–Marc & Jake hate it when you’re ill. The whole prospect of you being sick fills them with so much dread Steven has to reassure them before they burst “--Day’s alright Marc, I’ve got them,” he assured voice soft & tone gentle as he poured cool water into an Egyptian themed glass he bought recently.

“Mhm, I know what I’m doin’, yeah?” silence fell after that & Steven seemed content within it–you assume the conversation went well. Turning his heel he makes his way back to you, glass of water in hand “Hiya, lovebug,” he murmured smiling softly as you forced yourself to sit up ”C’mere.” he tells the glass to your lips helping you sip the cool liquid until you’ve had enough. He sets the remainder on the dresser & carefully climbs into the bed.

Turning to his side he lets you burrow into him & tucks your face into the crook of his neck. Gently he tugs to covers over your achy limbs & wraps his arms around you in his signature warm embrace “This alright?” he asks & you nod happily. He smiles at that whispering something about getting you proper medication when you feel up to a doctor’s visit.

Fingers dance along your spin & thigh until he’s certain you’ve fallen soundly asleep. He isn’t too tired but he’d rather be awake with you in his arms than asleep while you feel miserable “Sleep well, my moon, we’ll sort this all out soon enough.”
