The Art of the Night

Lately I have been thinking a lot about love, and 'The Art of the Night'.

In Act 2, Gale tells you:

"This one here is called 'The Art of the Night'. It details the first thousand nights of a newlywed king and queen. They turned everything they did into an art. The art of taste, time honoured and newly acquired. The art of the body. The exploration and acceptance of the self and the other. The art of the night itself."

Recently I listened to some exceptional Gale RPs by Phasmid ASMR, in which Gale adds:

"They did more than enjoy one another's bodies. There are whole chapters about the conversations they had, the meals they ate, how they decorated the myriad rooms of their palace. By the end of the book, the two knew one another so well that it's said they almost seemed to exist as one person in two bodies. Their sense of selves were that thoroughly entertwined."

And I realise, more strongly than ever, that this is the kind of love I want and dream of. Gale, and 'The Art of the Night'.

so that's what i've been working on for the past 2 weeks! i wanted to draw something for this intro ever since i first listened to it (as a companion piece to my other gur drawing, though it of course ended up being way bigger in scale), but it only really gripped me about halfway through PALISADE ep 18. the next morning after that i listened to this narration on repeat for about 45 minutes and then made a big sketch on 4 sheets of paper at my desk at work.

anyways, i haven't listened to the new episode yet but i think i'm probably ready for whatever they're gonna throw at us with the next sortie. i'm gonna believe, against it all, in millennium break. for gur

also I guess this is just an observation

but what is it with some pixel art games being so low contrast... I was finally going to give in and try out a farming sim lots of ppl enjoy despite the portrait art being not entirely to my tastes and then the pixels and environment are sooooo low contrast it made me change my mind again....like you do not have to be scared of dark colors and borders. Outlines. Smile.
