20 questions for fic writers
tagged by my wife @dxppercxdxver (although I really don't consider myself a fic writer these days lmao)
1. how many works do you have on ao3?
5 (and 2 orphaned)
2. what’s your total ao3 word count?
22,856
3. what fandoms do you write for?
considering I have at maximum 2 fics per fandom. you could say none! although my most popular fics were broadchurch and good omens
4. what are your top 5 fics by kudos?
the first is an orphaned batman/joker fic (does anyone remember that era of this blog? I'm so sorry lmao)
she - broadchurch
i love to live so pleasantly (lazing on a sunny afternoon) - good omens
Blueberry - IT (2017) (an incredibly cringe fic I wrote as a teenager for the love of god please don't read this)
i just want to be held (by your cold hands) - broadchurch
5. do you respond to comments? why or why not?
occasionally! if there's something that like. needs a response I do try to give them but otherwise I am very bad at getting back to comments. I do read and appreciate them all though!
6. what is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
it's the IT one tagged above lmao due to the like. 15/16 year old me projecting. I'm not very good at writing angst!
7. what’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
probably either of the broadchurch fics due to. trans joy and also gay domesticity
8. do you get hate on fics?
not actively? during my batman/b*tjokes years (bearing in mind I was about 14) I used to get occasional hate on tumblr due to trans/gay headcanons but that wasn't necessarily fic related. I also once had a pretty big b*tjokes writer comment on an old fic (like three or four years after I'd written it, when I was no longer In The Fandom) claiming I'd stolen their ideas and needed to either remove my work or credit them despite. only having read a few of their works very briefly. the work of mine in Question being a prompt fill. and me just following a lot of the trends of the fandom at the time? like sorry you don't actually have a trademark on hurt/comfort sick fics buddy it's a Fairly Popular Concept. anyway yeah that's about it.
9. do you write smut? if so, what kind?
nope <3 I've never tried and frankly I don't think I'd be very good at getting any ideas I have Across in a way that reads as sexy or hot enough to warrant actually writing it lmao
10. do you write crossovers? what’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I don't think I've fully written or published any crossovers, however! every character I've ever liked has been thrown into a killjoys au in my brain at one point or another (including but not limited to: the scooby doo gang, the penumbra pod gang, the eos 10 gang, Cecil and Carlos wtnv, ect). myself and jon plotted a whole magnus archives/mst3k au that I Wish one of us had written, and another mst3k/the mechanisms au that started as a joke and become so insanely important to us it sincerely helped us get together as a couple. we also had an overall eos10/penumbra podcast crossover that I personally never wrote anything for but I think jon Started some unpublished fics that never got finished.
11. have you ever had a fic stolen?
not as far as I know!
12. have you ever had a fic translated?
again, i dont beliebe so, but people are more than welcome to do so as long as im credited ofc
13. have you ever co-written a fic before?
I class at least the first of my broadchurch fics as partially co-written with Jon bc he was a Huge Help in that fic getting written, and as you might be able to tell from above we've Plotted a lot of fic ideas together (another includes a very goofy villain-decay bill cipher gravity falls fic) but basically none of them ever actually get written
14. what’s your all time favourite ship?
argh I can't choose one all time favourite. jonmartin themagnusarchives are insanely dear and important to me, jongerry / jonmartingerry are closely behind that. poly scooby doo gang. vince/howard from the mighty boosh. these are all just sentimental ships if I'm honest. also I became ridiculously attached to mine and Jon's crackship of jonny d'ville themechanisms / Mike mst3k
15. what’s a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
honestly I'm kind of past the point of hoping to get back into writing due to. complete lack of willpower. but I wish I'd gotten round to writing the third trans Hardy fic I had planned at one point </3
16. what are your writing strengths?
idk!! I think I'm good at capturing like. very specific moments of domesticity and comfort. and I think when I'm imagining A Scene I'm quite good at getting the vibes of that scene across. but other than that I'm really not sure
17. what are your writing weaknesses?
oh god uhh. actually writing. linking scenes together. Plot other than just vague "here's two characters hanging out and existing". the list goes on
18. thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I don't think I've actually attempted it myself? due to most characters I've written have been. incredibly British. I will say a pet peeve of mine in Reading a fic is when it is a fic in 99% English that'll have a large chunk of dialogue in another language, without a translation available somewhere for it. like a word or two is fine but if there's some actual plot in there and you're expecting me to Google translate it, that feels kind of the same as when subtitles simply say (speaking french) or whatever instead of Telling Us What They're Saying
19. first fandom you wrote for?
embarrassingly and horrifically. h*rry p*tter (I was 11)
20. favourite fic you’ve written?
it has to be she simply due to the Amount of trans love and support I got to hear about in the comments of that fic :,)
I'm not tagging anyone bc to be completely honest I don't remember which of my mutaks actively write <3

tagged by the lovely @aloveforjaneausten, thank you so much!!!
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 49!
2. What's your total AO3 words count? 315,193. god help me
3. What fandoms do you write for? actively just the one (potc), but the bulk of my ao3 is final fantasy vii, fullmetal alchemist, and assassin’s creed. almost all of my unpublished personal stuff is dragon age. one day it’ll see the light of day. one day
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
a house, a hearth, a (s)holmes (the great ace attorney, 2021)
good company (fullmetal alchemist, 2016)
heart & home (fma, 2017)
the need of everything (fma, 2018–2020)
benchfellows (ff7, 2020)
i'm proud of all of these but flabbergasted by benchfellows, which is 800 words and something i wrote and posted impulsively at like 2am. but. yknow. the kudos are beyond my power.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? almost always! nothing makes you forget how to say “thank you” like a normal human being than comments on your work!
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? almost everything i write ends on a melancholy note, but o sleeper (ff7) is probably the worst of them. and that’s really just the threat of canon rearing its head
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? the storm at your door (assassin’s creed) was specifically written to give ezio and sofia a better ending than what they got in canon, and by god i stand by it
8. Do you get hate on fics? thankfully not!
9. Do you write smut? If so what kind? nah. i don’t particularly enjoy reading smut, nor do i have any talent for making it not sound stilted. sex will get hinted at but rarely do i write anything more explicit than someone’s bits being out in the wind
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? have you heard the good word of my potc/temeraire crossover that is getting quickly out of hand? and till the long days (AC) is not NECESSARILY a crossover, but entwines the world of AC with greek mythology in a major way.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? / 12. Have you ever had a fic translated? / 13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before? nope to all three!
14. What's your all-time favourite ship? i don’t ship much tbh, and while i wouldn’t say i’m the most fond of them, my longest lasting ship has been cloud/aerith. we’re going on 18 years together and i’d be lying if i said they weren’t part of why i started writing in the first place
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? lmao. most ideas i don’t finish i’m content to leave as they are. however, i have one novelization about my dragon age character going through the events of the trespasser dlc that i desperately want to finish, but i’m such a stickler to the dialogue that exists in-game that i’m hamstringing myself. i like the ideas there enough to revisit it every now and then, so it’s not totally a lost cause, but...it's not looking likely gang.
16. What are your writing strengths? lord knows i know how to set a scene. everything i write is in service of eventually getting to describe sunlight or perhaps weather. know this whenever you read something i wrote.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? i’m desperately bad at just…stepping back and letting a scene breathe. i NEED to explain everything even if it’s obvious. i also am very guilty of describing what happens in prose rather than letting it play out naturally in dialogue. it’s remarkable how much i avoid dialogue without even realizing it
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? eh. it can be used well, but i just speak the one language fluently, so i doubt it’d be a fun or worthwhile bilingual bonus for any reader.
19. First fandom you wrote for? it’s either kingdom hearts or inkheart, and it certainly does not exist anywhere anymore. pour one out
20. Favourite fic you've ever written? my answer changes every time i’m asked this. sticking with the recency bias answer of steadfast and dependable (potc), as i''ve been really into the themes in that fic recently
tagging @johnbly @thesumdancekid and anyone else who might want to snag this <3

Going to be that asshole and say that this is correct
AND
It is important to remember the impact media has, whether it’s an “original” licensed property or a derivative fanwork or an unpublished novel.
Authors do have a responsibility to at least understand/consider the impact their messaging might have. There is power in art and that is why so many seek to take that power away from people.
It would be dreadfully irresponsible to write a story romanticising abuse and not consider the impact it might have on the audience. Like, yes, it isn’t on a creator to teach someone morality/ethics, and Death of the Author is a thing. It’s not like we’re going to blame George Orwell for CCTV, for example, that would be stupid.
I’m talking about things like shows/films/books perpetuating harmful cultural mindsets and fandoms being unwilling to self examine and create safe spaces for civil discourse to help fans process those less than stellar messages. No, it is certainly NOT on the creator(s) to police the fandom, so no one come at me about that because that isn’t what I’m suggesting.
What I’m getting at is that the “relationship” between audiences and media is so fucked up and going forward we ALL need to consider at least three things when we consume and/or create media:
1. What message is the narrative actually trying to express? Why do I feel this is the case?
2. If this media reaches other audiences, how might it affect them (or not), positively and negatively?
3. It’s fiction, and is not real. But no media exists in a vacuum, and all media comes with the context of the time in which it’s created. What can be done to avoid perpetuating harmful cultural cycles?
Again, I fully understand—especially as a creator in multiple media formats—the burden of critical thinking is not solely on creators. I also feel it’s extremely naive to think we shouldn’t also consider the impact we have as creators on our audiences.
The flip is there is an astounding lack of media literacy, even and especially among older fandom members. We need to start setting better examples as fans and as creators when engaging in discourse because God knows society won’t provide us with the tools to work through the barrage of messages that hits us every single day.
Does that mean “don’t write your gratuitious toxic smut fic”? Fuck no. That shit is lit. Just slap the content warnings on it. And also try to impress on others the importance of curating one’s online experience and stop with the bad faith arguments.
For the rest of you, that means learning to curate your online experience. I have numerous trauma related PTSD triggers, I am visually impaired, I have dyslexia, and physically/emotionally crippling severe depression:
- Am I going to get on someone’s case for saying “X, y, and z crippled the country’s economy”? Fuck no. Because I clearly understand that term isn’t being used about a human being or in a derogatory manner.
- Am I going to spam someone’s inbox with hate and try to get them cancelled because they have refused to update their blog layout into something I can actually read? No! Doing that needlessly makes an enemy out of someone and frankly, them being an asshole fucking sucks, but spreading drama is only going to stress people out, and I don’t have the time or energy to smear someone for not updating their personal blog that I don’t even have to visit in the first place.
- Am I going to out someone’s abuses, with actual evidence, for actively being harmful (ie actual abuse of others) to the community? Yes, actually, but I’m going to gather my shit together and sleep on it and run it by people I trust first so I can protect myself. And I certainly will ask other victims whether they want to be involved or not first.
Y’all need to understand that people asking you to try to take personal responsibility is not ableist and is not a personal attack or an insult. And we could all do very well to learn how to have a little more grace with one another instead of going off half-cocked at the keyboard at every opportunity.
To tie this all back into media consumption: Writing/drawing mindless schlock is okay. Enjoying “problematic” media is okay. But you still need to learn to be critical of media, good and bad, licensed and unlicensed, original and derivative. And you also need to understand that your own creations are not isolated in a vacuum; and that other people’s work may romanticize abuse or fascism but that doesn’t automatically make them a fucking fascistic abuser.
TL;DR; It wouldn’t hurt us all to be a little more mindful of how we consume media and how we treat each other when we share that experience.
Writing about a child rapist did not make Vladimir Nabokov a child rapist.
Writing about an authoritarian theocracy did not make Margaret Atwood an authoritarian theocrat.
Writing about adultery did not make Leo Tolstoy an adulterer.
Writing about a ghost did not make Toni Morrison a ghost.
Writing about a murderer did not make Fyodor Dostoevsky a murderer.
Writing about a teenage addict did not make Isabel Allende a teenage addict.
Writing about dragons and ice zombies did not make George R.R. Martin either of those things.
Writing about rich heiresses, socially awkward bachelors, and cougar widows did not make Jane Austen any of those things.
Writing about people who can control earthquakes did not make N.K. Jemisin able to control earthquakes.
Writing about your favorite characters and/or ships in situations that you choose does not make you a bad person.
It’s a shame that in this day and age these things need to be said.

Fic Writer Review!
Thanks @mssirey for the tag! I totally didn't have a crisis with the very last question, not at all bwhahaha
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
41, soon to be 42. ASJKLDBLAHSDSD how. And also why. But mostly, how.
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
565,934 EXCUSE ME WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. I was going to check my unpublished works but ya know what. Maybe I've written enough akdjsa
3. How many fandoms have you written for?
Technically speaking, I've written and published fics for five fandoms. However, I only have one story for OUAT (and I have @shadowdianne to thank for that... or do I?) and one for Captain Marvel. Mirandy was my first love, Cissamione the second, and Supercorp has burrowed in my brain and just won't let go.
I've also technically written for Xena, Legend of Korra, and Criminal Minds, but since I never published those, we're going to pretend they don't exist!
4. Top 5 fics by kudos?
Only two are WIPs! YEAH! They're the top two, but WHO CARES, here they are:
1) Perhaps, aka my baby, my child, my darling, the apple of my eye. If I ever had to choose to finish only ONE of my WIPs, this would be the one. This story has grown with me, and I think you can tell when you read. Or maybe not!
2) For the Better. If the former is my baby, this one is like... my moody teenager. I love it dearly, but... it takes a lot out of me. An ode to one of the first fandoms I actively wrote for, it sits unfinished, but nearly, oh so nearly done. I will finish it, damn ittt.
3) The Date. Honestly, this one really surprised me -- it's one of my oldest one-shots, and something I definitely dashed off between lectures back in Scotland, maybe alternating with FtB chapters. It's one of my first attempts at humour, I think.
4) Bits and Pieces. AYY, I wasn't sure Supercorp would make the cut, WOOOT! This one was the second Supercorp fic I ever wrote, and I did it because Lena Is Baby and the idea just wouldn't leave my brain.
And lastly, the fabulous number 5... Perfect. AKA Nara's First (published) Explicit Fic, featuring Praise Kink and an Enchanted Dildo (for... reasons). I'm not gonna lie, I am so HAPPY this one made it, because it has a special place in my heart. It's where Soft Butch Hermione comes to life, and if you don't love Soft Butch Hermione, I'm sorry, we can't be friends. I love her.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why/why not?
Eeermmm... some? I do want to respond, but I'm terrible with keeping up with comments, I really am. For whatever reason, even when I do my best, I don't really love responding directly on AO3. I also turned off all email notifications for AO3 because turns out my brain WILL be distracted by even a single one.
I'm much more responsive on Tumblr, I promise!
6. A fic you've written with the angstiest ending:
Any of my Narlily works, I guess? Like... All Flowers Wither or Carry On.
Unshackled would be another one, though it's Cissamione... but I caved and made a happy(ish) second part for that one.
7. Do you write crossovers?
Nope! Crossovers just don't do it for me, generally speaking (reading or writing).
8. Ever received hate on a fic?
EvEr rEcEIvEd hAtE-- yes. Oh, yes. I've been told my writing is terrible, I've been told my stories were a 'waste of time,' or 'overhyped,' I've had people tell me there was only One Way to write a certain pairing and my way was definitely Not The Way.
The list goes on.
It used to really, really bother me--still does, but in a much smaller way. Delete/Block buttons are my friends.
9. Do you write smut?
I write an absurd amount of smut. I just don't publish any of it because. Fear.
My pretty, pretty pens have created some filthy, filthy things.
10. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
A couple of times -- only once or twice like, straight up attributed to someone else who acted like they were the one writing it. The other times were reposts or translations (without my permission, so still. stolen).
11. Ever had a fic translated?
I've authorized a couple of translations of a few of my DWP works. I'm usually cool with people translating my stuff IF THEY ASK ME FIRST and GIVE ME PROPER CREDIT.
9/10 it's some Brazilian who translates it to Portuguese without my permission and then gets upset when I, another Brazilian, do not endorse it and politely ask them to take the thing down. Thankfully it's been a while. ASK ME, DAMN IT.
12. Have you ever co-written a fic?
Nothing published bwhaha!
13. All-time favourite ship?
Right now SuperCorp is definitely barking a little louder, so to speak, but I don't really have one favourite overall. It depends on the fandom, sometimes! Cissamione is very dear to my heart, because it's just so fucking out there and literally every one in this ship has some of the most fascinating headcanons for this pairing and it's just. So wonderful.
14. WIP you want to finish, but don't think you ever will?
Eeeeuuughhh.... Right now? Probably The Appraisal. I forget what I wanted to do with it, I'm not sure if I'm still feeling the premise... IDK.
I think the same could be said of For the Better, but I PROMISED to finish it, and GOD DAMN IT, I am so close I can't throw in the towel just yet.
15. Writing strengths?
You want ME to say good things about MYSELF? I'm still learning how to do that asldkjbasdn it's a work in progress. But I think I'd say... maybe world-building, at least on my longer works?
I would also like to think I do pretty OK in... IDK, some of the punchy stuff? The 'oh wait a minute' moment? IDK if that makes sense!
16. Writing weaknesses?
Organizing. Plot (HAHA IKR). Consistency. Editing (which is rich from someone who literally edits shit for a living... but go figure). Pacing. Weirdly long sentences? Commas for DAYS.
I could go on.
17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?
I am a-OK attempting it in French/Spanish/Portuguese. It may not sound natural, but it will be correct. If I'm trying another language, I'll definitely get help! But I've got no problem with it.
18. First fandom you ever wrote for?
Harry Potter, Dramione specifically, and you'll never find a shred of it. I was like 12, and almost a decade later I figured out Hermione was much better off with Draco's mother.
19. What's your fav fic you've written so far?
DON'T MAKE ME CHOOOSE asdkljasdl I CAAANNN'TTTT
I mean, obviously Perhaps is one of them -- it is my baby, that has been established. I think Little Bumps in the Road is also up there, because it was just a random writing exercise that got out of hand, and honestly? I'm here for it. Andddd.... I GUESS I'll put A Valentine's Evening up there as well, because it was the first time I didn't second guess every word I wrote when posting smut. I just... felt it, went for it, wrote it, and it felt really, really good to release some of that into the world lol
WHEW, this was a long one! I'll be tagging @intheinkpot, @shadowdianne, @delirious-comfort, and @16-pennies because I am a curious bastard. But, as always, feel free to treat this as an open tag. Go nuts!
#tag game#this was illuminating in several ways#aka i need to finish my wips#(though that ain't exactly news)#but more importantly#i've written way more than I think I have#and ya know what#it's OK to be proud of that#i am proud of all my children#and i love them all equally#*side eyes Decisions Decisions Decisions*#even you#nara rambles

Content Tag Game
Tagged by EXO sister-wife Kat @yeoldontknow <3 1. what fandoms have you written for (but do not currently)?
2. what fandoms are you currently writing for?
3. how long have you been writing? on this blog?
uhhh I definitely wrote half of several harry potter and lotr fanfics in HS but that was ‘the dark times’ many moons ago. so as an adult this is my only fandom! just stumbled into kpop and stumbled onto fanfics in the most backwards way possible (was sent a meme of a 1D ‘imagine’ and was like hey I wonder if they have these for kpop and then I found them and they were not a meme, but were fucking incredible AND NOW 4 YEARS LATER (started August-ish 2017???) here we are hahaha)
4. on which platforms do you post your stories?
oh dear god i just remembered I have an AO3 account..... WHOOPS, shit 😅 might need to, y’know, update that at some point. jfc adhd object permanence is something else.
5. what is your favorite genre to write?
Personally it’s sci fi/fantasy, but here in the fanfic space I’d say..... uhh slice of life, romance, angst but make it a happy ending?? fanfic is a way for me to share all the sort romantic hopeful feelings I have about love and life and friendship and purpose 💕
6. are you a pantser or a planner?
Used to be a pantser when I started this (and when fics used to be like ?? 3k-5k) now that fics in general are longer for one-shots and series my good lord I need an outline. Especially for exo mall which is *insert meme of crazy guy with the bulletin board* a lot for my brain haha
7. one shot or multi-chapter?
8. what is the perfect chapter length in your opinion?
I’d say mine are usually 5k or so?? some series were shorter per chapter, depending on subject matter. I tend to write like... interconnected long as frick oneshots, so i don’t count those as chapters ☠️
9. what is your longest published story? is it complete?
uhhhhh good question haha. my book was 95k and I think exo mall is like *dammit math* 140k or something that has significantly gotten out of hand. I have two more fics so it will probably be like 180ish when it’s done?? not including the drabbles to come haha
10. which story did you enjoy working on the most?
I loved No Quarter and torturing Kat with her husband, also staying up all night to finish Chanyeol’s exo mall knowing kat had NO idea it was coming was a BLAST. Kyungsoo’s exo mall was one of the most ‘in the flow’ writing experiences i’ve ever had. I wrote this Baek oneshot at like 3am when i couldn’t sleep once and tbh it felt like I wrote it in a dream. ja;slkfjasd I love so many of these this is like a trip down memory lane, so I’m going to be a wh*re and say two more haha. This is the most honest and close to ‘real life’ thing I think I’ve written on here (and also one of the only sex scenes I didn’t lose my goddamned mind trying to write a;sldkfja;sdf). And lastly Ablaze, which was the longest thing I’d written (I think) and let me know that hey? maybe I could write a book someday <3
11. favorite request you’ve have written and why (if any?)
This request for Exo Mall Baek was such a joy to write! And for some reason this Taeyong drabble makes me wish I had the time/energy to write it into a full story, it gripped me so much when I wrote it, like a movie had fully downloaded into my brain out of nowhere.
12. are there reoccurring themes in your stories?
For sure! I’d say found family is a big one. Trusting that you’ll find your place even if things don’t make sense or you feel unsure. Believing that love is worth the risk and fear of trusting someone ;laksjdfal;sd. That love can be big gestures and super intense, but that after that fades away it’s the small daily moments that matter most - the people who stay and listen when you’re sad, holding hands and forehead kisses, taking care of people when they’re sick or scared or just need company, showing up to try again or to communicate even when things are hard.
Someone commented on a fic of mine ages ago that I helped them see that real love (of that small, daily, consistent kind) is possible and MAYHAPS I cried because underneath it all, that’s what I’d want people to take away - that love of all kinds is scary, but it’s always worth it in the end <3
13. current number of wips?
Surprisingly just ... 3? wow how time has changed hahaha. I have Jun + Baek for exo mall (plus some drabbles but that will be something people write in about, so I wouldn’t consider them wips) and then I maaaaay continute on here with the Jun + Min regency baes series. We shall see :)
14. three things you have noticed about your own writing?
1. I can’t NOT write Baekhyun as the biggest cheesy dork in the entire world 2. That I’ll always have endless fantasy world to live in. I have to try actively to not start new WIPs because it’s so damn easy to be inspired. If I’m ever bored I know that I can jump into some story and let myself be carried away for a while 3. that who and how i am in real life is not usually the same person that i am when it comes to the vibe of my writing, and that that’s totally okay <3
15. a quote you like from a published story.
“I wish it had been with someone like you, though,” you say, squeezing his hand.
“Someone like me?” he says, raising his eyebrows, waiting for an explanation.
You look down at the floor, trying to figure out how to put how he makes you feel into words. “Yeah, someone strong, and steady. And safe.”
He lets out a laugh. “Safe? That sounds awfully similar to boring.”
“No, no. You don’t understand,” you say emphatically, coming to stand fully in front of him, grabbing his other hand as well. “You never ask me to be anything but who I am. You’re patient, kind, caring. For the longest time I thought that falling in love would be stifling. That it would… I don’t know, take my independence. Take my spirit. Make me into someone I don’t recognize.”
You step closer, holding his face in your hands. “But I can’t think of anything I want more than to be with you. You make me the best version of who I am. I don’t know how it is for you, being with me. But when I’m with you, it just feels like… home,” you finish gently.
- from Kyungsoo’s exo mall because THIS is how I feel about falling in love now, and this story was me working out what I believed about the process (like a goddamned emo bish haha)
16. a quote from an unpublished story.
For a moment you allow yourself this weakness. It won't destroy you to admire the strong lines of his body, the intensity and focus in the set of his brows, the deep, warm color brown of his eyes as they - oh lord, he's looking directly at you. As he notices you watching him his lips press into a small smile, inclining his head towards you.
'Oh no,' you say, mortified. In a breath you've blinked and drawn your arm through Maggie's, weaving your way through the crowd and dragging her with you.
'What's wrong?' she hisses in your ear, slightly off-kilter from the drink and revelry. 'You're going to tear my arm off.’.
'Sorry, he -' With a hand you push through the front doors, gulping in the cool night air and breathing deeply to steady the erratic pace of your heartbeat. 'Maggie, what's happening to me? He looked at me and I felt so... naked. I can't explain it.'
She realizes you aren't in actual distress and laughs. 'Good. About time you fell in love. I'm delighted.'
- From perhaps a future chapter of Jun and Min regency baes series....
17. space for you to say something to your readers.
Thank you so much. Truly, from the bottom of my heart. This fandom brought writing back into my life after such a long time away and I had no idea I would love it so much. The friends it’s brought me and the kind words that made me cry or cheered me up on a shitty day or made me laugh out loud and the watching other writers grow on their journeys. Getting to hear how something I made could help you feel less alone or less sad on a shitty day is all I’ve ever wanted from sharing all this. Thank you for being here and thank you for sharing parts of yourself with me <3

20 Questions, Writer’s Edition
Thanks for the tag @totchipanda !!
How many works do you have on AO3?
Um, I have two accounts. 1 is SFW, one is NSFW. 2 on the NSFW, 3 on the SFW, and I think 3 on FF.Net but I can’t get back into the account :( Not sure if I’m willing to link the NSFW account to this username yet...
What’s your total AO3 word count?
Adding the two accounts together, just under 20k.
How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?
Some are posted, some are not yet, most may never see the light of day.
Published: Star Trek: TNG, Spirited Away, Jupiter Ascending, Grishaverse (specifically Six of Crows)
Unpublished and might never be, as I’m not currently active in the fandoms and/or they were terrible tweenager OC fics: Lord of the Rings, Magi: Labyrinth of Magic, Moribito: Guardian of the Sacred Spirit, Asklepios (whee, obscure manga!), Attack on Titan, Kotoura-San, One Piece (for like a hot second), Hunter x Hunter, Escaflowne, Trigun
I have like, so MANY other fandoms I’ll also read for. Which might mean I’ll also write for them at some point. <_<
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
I actually only have 5 fics total between two accounts so I’m just going with the top on each. (I promise I’ll finish the 7ish WIPs once my life settles back down a bit more (I hope) by next month.)
Um, currently one of the E-rated ones. >_> (Over 125!! Squee!)
On the SFW account: Collar (Jupiter Ascending)
Do you respond to comments, why or why not?
Almost always, unless I have some reason I don’t want to engage--e.g. spoilers or the commenter totally missed the point and I’m trying to be cordial.
What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?
Um, probably Collar? My fics tend to not be angsty. More FEELS than anything, but the angst usually has a tidy wrap-up before the real ending.
Do you write crossovers? If so what is the craziest one you’ve written?
Yes, though it was just outlines. I think it was Escaflowne/Hunter x Hunter?
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
Thank heavens no! But I fully expect to with a future one as one primary OC is an abortionist.
Do you write smut? If so what kind?
eheheheh. um. yes. F/M, might consider specific M/M ships in the future but not totally sure. I seem to enjoy putting my characters in funny-but-also-emotionally-resonant sexy situations.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
AFAIK, no, and I better not find any.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No but I’ve had a beta save my sorry ass.
What’s your all time favourite ship?
Honestly, I think Kanej might be it. Like, possibly forever. Even if I move on at some point they will hold a special place in my shipper heart. I’ve had SO many OTPs though. Royai, EdWin, Janeway/Chakotay, and Vash/Meryl are up there as well.
What’s a WIP that you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?
Seven Monsters, Seven Gods. It was supposed to be a sprawling continuation fic for Jupiter Ascending that involved Stargate-like universe-bending shenanigans, and also professors who are not what they seem. I would have had to write it in college but the moment’s past.
What are your writing strengths?
Eerie little personal details about characters that make them relatable and all too human. (I hope.)
What are your writing weaknesses?
Finishing shit. Also, complex plots are something I need to develop. Not abusing commas and em-dashes. Run-on sentences (fuck you, Cicero, you ruined me).
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
If you can get a native speaker to help you, then hell yes. Otherwise, you damn well better be pulling it from a well-vetted source to be respectful. Specific words and phrases are find for extra color in a story, as long as you’re being mindful. (e.g. I usually use names of specific dishes for a culture)
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
TNG, but I never published it. I had SUCH a crush on Wesley Crusher at 12 and it was a terribly indulgent Mary-Sue fic.
What’s your favourite fic you’ve written?
Of the published ones? The erotica that currently has the most kudos. Even if one of my writer buddies still roasts me over specific historical details (we are writing equivalent periods 20 YEARS APART, my dear).
Of the unpublished, I’m loving writing one with a plot device OC who started off as mirror-universe me and got worse from there.

Longest posted fic:
series: The Fires Within , 31k+ and counting
oneshot: Race of Truth , 12k, lmFAO
Longest wip:
6.1k+ The Normalcy of Thieves chapter 1 lol
Fandoms written:
BTS, EXO, KNK, MONSTA-X, MAMAMOO (unpub), original fiction
General questions:
1. Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or what you predicted?
to be honest like sure, 300 or so pages was like wow okay that’s great i would love to write that in one year!
but then instead i go ahead and write 760+ pages waht the fuCK--
so, um, yeah, i was predicting less, a lot less.
2. What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?
smut. smut. smut. holy shit, listen, smut literally makes me scream and cry whenever i attempt to write it, and i’m pretty sure the me from like a year ago would attempt but fail, horribly.
((that’s the me rn tbh lmfao))
3. What’s your own favourite story of the year?
well tbh i answered this kind of in this ask, but if it really came down to it... god, this is hard...
I really did like the concepts behind the talks, is all i can say.
4. Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
smut, writing about various other touchy subjects (/coughs/ drug use, death, all that stuff). um, oh gosh. what did i learn?
that i absolutely love describing the morbidity of the dark subjects
((albeit pretentiously at times))
5. Do you have any fanfic goals for the new year?
...................loooooooool finish my requests, of course!
or at least get my current to be done list cleared out :’)
From my past year of writing…
My best story of this year:
Stories
best?? Like the one that turned out to be the best? God, that’s hard. Let’s just say that for now.
My most popular story of this year:
Accelerate (M)
for reasons that.. well, I can understand ;)
(if ur looking for a non-smut fic, i have no idea which is the most popular. i’ve written way too much, fuck me in the ass)
Most fun story to write:
Race of Truth
for obvious reasons ;)))))))) crackfics are great in that you don’t have to really worry about things making sense, you just kinda get to go along with the flow
Story with the single sexiest moment:
this drabble
.....I would answer with a scenario except I don’t even read my own smuts and I don’t know if I want to so I’ll just say this instead. It’s PG-13, yall.
Most “holy crap, that’s wrong, even for you” story:
this.
me @ me lmfao gurl y
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
execute ?
hahhhhhhhh hm. idk, i typically write hoseok as some sunshiney figure and in execute he’s like a badass spy guy and i didn’t really bring out his sunshine personality as much.
Hardest story to write:
Seal
oh my god. Fake dating fics are so hard to write, wow. i think it also has to do in part that I don’t really read that trope.
Biggest surprise:
Fascination, because LOL WH At
Most unintentionally telling story:
Stories
Unintentionally? Well, um. Unintentionally telling story.... that’s also a hard question. The ones I can think of I intentionally incorp’d real life events inside because they were funny.
I have no idea, but i’ll just say this because I find it the most relatable as an author (and that was kind of my intention, lol. rip.)
Favourite opening lines:
“It begins with a train: clunky and steaming, weaving through the mountains, headed straight for the heartlands. Then–
A boulder.
Jagged, colossal, tumbling from the mountain peak. Fast. Ripping trees from roots, crushing the central car of the train. The train tips over, its weight lurching dangerously near the cliff, engine still running and wheels turning uselessly. Suspended in air.”
--The Talks
“You realize a few things when you wake up, head pounding.
1. This isn’t your room. Or any room that you recognize, for that matter. Where the fuck are you?
2. You’re really really hungry. An all-you-can-eat-buffet sounds fantastic. So does a giant cookie with a pint of ice cream dumped over it—what was it called again? A pizookie, right.”
--Realize
“‘I need help,’ you say with a groan, flopping onto the end of Yoongi’s sofa.
‘You need all kinds of help,’ he responds, not even bothering to look up from his phone. You make a whining noise, reaching over to weakly slap his thigh.”
--Attempt
Favourite closing lines: yeah not choosing one of my one-liner endings LOL
“Such a dull, ugly story you both have lived, but it does shares a commonality with even the greatest epics and legends of time–
You inhale, deep.
‘All stories end.’”
--Hunt
Favourite lines from anywhere:
“’So what’s death to you, then?’
His lips curl into a dark grin. ‘Death? Death is the ultimate party: everyone is invited, and everyone attends.’”
--The Talks
“He wonders where those dreams went, what happened to the bright eyed kid, jumpy with eagerness, itching to explore the world.
Who threw those dreams down the drain?
A twisting knot in Jimin’s stomach tightens; he feels as if he already knows the answer to that question. He shies away, hiding behind blind arrogance.
(He realizes that he may have forgotten something much more important than his textbooks and homework in the classroom.)”
--Lost
Scenes from anywhere you would have choose to have illustrated:
The beginning of Burn
The duel scene in Back
The entire Timebreaker!Hoseok drabble
New year’s resolutions...
start posting on ao3, finish my wip (hopefully), get shit done
fix my theme
be more active
make new friends
read n be happy ;)
