I don't know how a movie could be so important to me, but it is, and I'm so happy to finally be doing one of my absolute DREAM COSPLAYS!!! . Also I am hoping to wear this costume to @holidaymatsuri Orl FL in December! 😁 . I have the progress photos of the full costume view-able to all patrons! I also have resin kits for the necklace posted on my site! . Honestly I have put this costume off for years cause I was too nervous, & since I look nothing like Jareth naturally I was scared I would disappoint myself. Then with David Bowie's passing I gave it a few more years cause I felt even more pressure to be at a higher skill level to tribute him.. I also cried a bit before I started the wig cause I was so nervous! Idk why, I've never reacted to a costume like that! I guess maybe it just means so much to me I wanted to do my best! I'm happy with the wig and makeup as a first test, I will be changing a few things though but that's what test are for! 😊 I spent a few hours on the makeup, doing a nose prosthetic and aging makeup for the first time ever! I can't wait to practice this more! An afternoon of sewing that was originally supposed to be just a few hours later, Jareth's shirt is functionally done! It's as screen accurate as I could make it, but with a few minor changes that aren't really noticable. This already feels way cooler than the last shirt I used, since it's a wonderfully soft rayon challis, and amazingly I found the perfect fabric for the cutout cuffs; white curtain lining that's coted to be lightproof and still fall like a heavy woven. Just a quick #jareth wig progress post, because that wig deserves one. Arda had the Jareth in dark ash blonde on backorder, so I used a Magnum Long and a pack of wefts to get the long feathery bits. The four strips of wefts got sewn in at midnight on Friday of the con (two layers at the back, and one shorter strip at about the temple on each side), so I'm ridiculously happy with the final product! I might add tiny blue bits if I ever do his masquerade look, but idk. I can be a lazy ass sometimes, so didn't actually sew the closures onto the cuffs until a week after they were actually on, but that's a wrap on the shirt! It's soft and floofy and has enough clevage out to make up for my not stuffing the Bowie Bulge, but aaaaalso I have the option to close the lapels for more. . . family friendly occasions.
