The exact location is in Bhubaneswar, khurda district. These two are the earliest rock cut Jain caves which were curved by Jain monks and artisans from the times of king Kharavela. These two monumental caves are not only manifests the genius architectural sense of ancient India but also shows the early inscriptions of love, tolerance and religious description.

All the caves are carved in sandstone and each one is different in character also their rooftops are very low in height. You can experience the silence and sacred feeling of the place. This gives you an unique feeling like the whole evidence of history or a spectacular architecture of first century BC is standing still between a full fledged on growing metro city. the site was giving me a feeling of changing time, progress, urbanization and a lost past. These monumental heritages bridged the history and time together. These helps us to remember the glorious past of India and an endeavour to cherish the diversity which signifies our beloved India.

You may experience a spectacular view from the top of Udayagiri cave. The thin white line of urban architecture from a stone carved cave builds a connection between centuries of history and religion.

Khandagiri : Its very close to the Udayagiri cave. From the main road one can see the easy trails. They are marked very clearly from the entrance to the summit. The caves of Khnadagiri are located at the height of 118 ft. There are several caves resides in a single premises. 'Khandagiri' means broken hills. There are 15 caves in Khandagiri.

A heritage of 2000 years old was the shelter of many Jain scholars. The caves are beautifully carved with inscriptions, motifs and relief sculptures. These caves presents the first occupation of Jain and Buddhists.

Considering all these problems of elderly in our society, Nirmala Kruti Bikash Trust (NKBT) is going to provide a homely atmosphere to the senior citizens with all facilities.

Old Age Homes are becoming a necessity in urban areas as most senior have no one to take care of them. Many of the homes are run free where senior citizens can get accommodation, medical assistance and food. But some are pay homes.

Normally, old age homes cram everything in one room that includes a wall-mounted personal shrine, pictures of deities hanging on walls, a rack containing utensils, some beds and a few boxes with biscuits and other eatables. BHUBANESWAR, India — Cyclone Fani dumped enormous amounts of rain on eastern India, washing out countless homes and farms and leaving some coastal areas in ruins, the authorities said on Saturday.

But as of late morning, the human toll from the powerful cyclone, which hit the coastal state of Odisha on Friday, was mercifully low. The authorities said they were investigating reports that seven people had died — a terrible blow for those families, but a near-miraculous result compared to the thousands killed 20 years ago, when a similar cyclone swept over the same area.

“It seems the worst is over,” said Bishnupada Sethi, the state’s special relief commissioner. “We believe the number of deaths will not go into double digits.”

Over the past few days, as the cyclone barreled up the Bay of Bengal toward India, the Odisha authorities evacuated a million people to higher ground and cyclone shelters. “Around 160 people were injured in Puri alone. Our relief work is ongoing,” he told AFP.

Authorities in Bangladesh, next in Fani’s trajectory, said a woman was killed by a tree, and that 14 villages were inundated as a tidal surge breached flood dams. Some 400,000 people have been taken to shelters, officials told AFP.

Hundreds of thousands more people in India’s West Bengal state have also been given orders to flee. Local airports have been shut, with train lines and roads closed.

– ‘The wind is deafening’ –

“It just went dark and then suddenly we could barely see five metres in front of us,” said one resident in the holy city of Puri, where Fani made landfall.

“There were roadside food carts, store signs all flying by in the air,” the man told AFP. “The wind is deafening.”

Another witness said he saw a small car being blown along a street by the winds and then turned over.

PTI reported that a big crane collapsed and that a police booth was dragged 60 metres (yards) by the wind.

As Fani headed northeastwards, losing strength but still packing a punch, Odisha authorities battled to remove fallen trees and other debris strewn over roads and to restore phone and internet services.

Electricity pylons were down, tin roofs were ripped off, piles of bricks could be seen and windows of hotels and homes were smashed.
