#Jesus hangs from the #cross at #SanXavierMission just outside #Tucson #Arizona. This is a 300 year old #Catholic mission in the #SonoranDesert. . I have a renewed interest in #Christianity but not in the sense that controlled organized religions try to interpret it. As I learn more about early control mechanisms that tried to politicize Christianity & reinvent it; the more I realize how far misled I’ve become on an opposite tangent. I’m not saying that these denominations like #Cathalicism or #Mormonism are absolutely wrong; I’m just admitting I have my doubts about their veracity. . I think of the #DeadSeaScrolls & many gospels that were banned from the regular bible as we know it & how #Constantine tried to eradicate brands of Christianity that didn’t fall inline with his #Roman state sanctioned church & I have become far more curious about #GnosticChristianity & books like the #GospelofThomas and #MaryMagdalene’s roll in Jesus’ life and it makes me want to re-examine everything in search of the real truth vs. the deceptions. When I begin to pull back all these layers, real Christianity becomes far more believable to me. But these original #Christian teachings suggest you don’t need any priest or bishop or church running your belief system or dictating it to you; you have the capability within your heart, spirit and soul to connect & communicate directly with your brother, Jesus & your Father in Heaven who is above & below & everywhere. True belief in a Great Creator is direct & the relationship is direct with no strings attached. . As I come to witness all these sexual abuse scandals coming to light & all revelations of sexual child predators in these Christian Denominations being exposed; it seems like a serious divine purge is underway to expose the scams & fraudulent institutions that these “#religions” have come to define. However, for me, it’s redefining my Christianity & proving all these suspicions I had the entire time. . I believe in my #HeavenlyFather but I don’t need the fear mongering of a controlled religious institution dictating my system of right & wrong; that moral compass was gifted to me naturally by the #Creator!!!
