Idk why but, I really want to talk about Dinotrux Biology and Trying explain that eating mess ;-;
Today I will only explain my crazy theory of the Dinotrux eating mess.
Since the first episode, it's explained the Dinotrux eat ore, but while the show keeps going we see, another eating habits, like rocks, and mostly like Metal.
First, we have to know what is edible and what is not.
In the episode magnet mountain, Garby have a idea how they could leave the magnet wall the trux were stuck, the idea was eat the magnet, but then he says "Magnets aren't edible"(for obvious reasons lol). What means they do not eat everything randomly.
accordingly to that. We can base on what Garby already ate in the show. That was Rock, Ore andddd METAL.
What implies the existence of "Metalvores" and basically means Metal is edible. Basically, Metal is their flesh. We never see any trux talking openly about eat metal, only sneakly beetween their script.
like:
In the episode Drillapedes
"The dominant gets first dibs"
"at what?"
"at us"
the episode Dyscrapadons
The mama is literally TRAINING her flock for chasing and preying a pterocopter.
And Let's agreed, the "predators" of the show actually collects metal, but for what? if they collect metal but eats ore, it would make like no sense, it would be a waste of energy on some collectionable. and Desert scraptors actually do embushes with volcanic ore only to collect metal? if they have such a big and the "most delicious" ore, why would they search for metal?
the episode where it gets more obvious is the Shredadon. The whole episode is about Shredadon eating metal basically. with obvious lines and especially when Shredadon trys to eat waldo but fail because of Ty.
"Whoa. You certainly have an appetite"-Ace
"oh, she let it eat her" -Waldo
"his breath smells like rust"-Ace
"that thing is looking at us kind of hungry again."-Ton-Ton
Anyway, now here is more than obvious there are Metalvores in Dinotrux world. what would mean all "carnivores" would should eat metal right? ...yes, but no. I did a list about which dinotruxes are metalvores or not.
the list:
Tyrannosaurus Trux (ates ore) Gluphosaurs(never seem eating ore, but clearly mentions to eating it) Sawmetradon(ates ore) Pterocopters(ates ore) Aquadon(ates ore) Shredadon(only eats metal, for what it seems) Dyscrapadon(never seem eating ore) Scrapadactyl(ates ore) Scraptor(never seem eating ore) Scraptool(tools are way more in omnivores cathegory but scraptools seems more focused on looking for scrap than others)
anyway. Here is the list of our supposed "Predators". has we saw, all of them(almost) eats ORE. what make us(or me) even more confuse. Buuuut we are going use Garby again. Our favorite Estegarbasaur eats Rocks, but he already ate ore, and somewhat like it(in this case it were S'mores. a combination of lots different ore togheter), and did like the Metal taste too, on the episode training, were he ate a dozen superchargers and say "these things aren't so bad, actually."
What means they can adaptate their eating habits to any of these, but of course there are consequences, like in the episode Ore run, when Garby system get jammed with the enormous amount of ore he ate.
What makes me get in a conclusion They ALL ates Ore, Rock and Metal. But each especies have their preference supposed with they biology, but it do not prevents they eating other edible stuffs.
And I already though, "why every dinotrux fear T-Truxes?" well it's not for the bad and agressive atitude for sure, or everyone would fear Dozer XD. Well tyrannosaurus rex were somewhat feared for some dinosaurs ( edmontosaurus and maybe feared by some younger Triceratops) cause' it's a predator etc, obvious. Now let's analyze Dinotrux. A similar thing T-Truxes shares with Scraptors are Digging abilitys and a keen sense of smell. has we seem, T-truxes are somewhat sneaky, like real tyrannosaurus, believe me or not, T-rex were actually a sneaky predator. Like we see Ty with his Shadow painting, when he cames to rescue Revvit, his engine is so silent, that even D-structs can't hear. INSIDE HIS OWN LAIR. Ty have a actually great hearing and great eye, being the first one to notice when somethings is wrong. in Desert scraptors Ty can precisely track click-clack UNDERGROUND. without mention the wrecking ball lol. and the "build to last" and "engine build for power", along with the quick thinking about plaining a ambush to catch pounder. ngl that moment I though
"Damn Ty plained a ambush so fast"
"..."
"OF COURSE! HE IS AN ADULT TYRANNOSAURUS"
XD anyway.
What would mean, that ore is the only more common edible material that can actually supply all needs. In the episode tortool, Ty said some materials that composes ore, that's Iron and Magnesium, there were more things, but Dozer cut him before he could say it. Anyway:
There are Preys and Predators, Metalvores, Orevores and Rockvores(and the omnivores), every especies have been build for eating a certain stuff of each category, but they can always eat other stuff that is edible. And for Metalvores, to not waist energy, gettin' dents etc, they tend to look out for ore, cause it's easier and it can provides all nutrients they need. It may cause some problems to addaptate, but it can works perfectly, so they would not need search for other Dinotrux around like hungry beasts. But ofc, some predators may not want to adaptate this ore diet and keeps looking for metal like dyscrapadons, shredadon and scraptors.
and btw goldtrux just said "fuck it, I Want gold". anyway, it fits into a rock/ore category tho. anyway, I actually need explain this mess for myself. I know it got confuse but it helps me organizate better my thinkings about it
lil meme hehe

I don't think they made Xee's design for that purpose, neither her body shown in such an explicit or inappropriate way to call it "sexualized".
And following that logic, there are characters who have a more "sexy"(? body.
Gluphosaurs for example, they have thicker thighs and a bigger... butt? Kqkskek sorry It was funny to write that
Tumblr media
Is Xee just a case of the not-gays?

At first I thought she was, but really I never felt Revvit had any interest in her in a romanic way. He only showed apreciation in her skills and considered her idea in going back to living without the trux and adventuring by himself again, like he used to. Not necessarily with her, just in general.
At least that's how I interpreted their interactions. I must say tho that I was never into romance, neither irl nor in fiction, so maybe I simply miss the obvious clues layed out. idk.
But my god look at her design! She's the most sexualised character in this show. She's the Lola Bunny of Dinotrux imo.

I don’t have every humanoid species finished yet so ignore the ones with question marks but here’s a rough chart and stuff. I may make an updated version eventually, who knows.
The order is fairly random and this is kind of long so I’ll put it below the cut. I have no idea when I’ll do the non-humanoid species because I can’t drawn animals to save my life but anyway.
(PS If you have any ideas for species names, let me know because I’m stumped.)
1. Craneosaur
Avg Height: 6′6″ / 198cm Habitat: Forested areas Physical Traits: Somewhat slow for their size, commonly gingers and redheads. Tools: Regular hooks, grappling hooks, rope darts Other: Stubbornly independent, feud with Dozeratops (though no one’s sure how it started).
2. T-Trux
Avg Height: 5′10″ / 178cm Habitat: Pretty much any large territory, though they sleep in caves Physical Traits: Quite strong and heavy for their size, often pale though that’s due more to their anti-social nature than genetics. Tools: Flails Other: Temperamental, they’re biology makes them more prone to overheating and exhaustion, they have to eat more too.
3. Dozeratop
Avg Height: 5′1″ / 155cm Habitat: Flat lands, create mounds from rocks and mud Physical Traits: Horns on the head ranging in size and color. Tools: Shields, hammers Other: Commonly stubborn and irritable, raise their young in larger groups, then live in smaller ones upon adulthood, feud with Craneosaurs.
4. Ankylodump
Avg Height: 5′ / 152cm Habitat: Nomadic, pretty much wherever Physical Traits: Colorful face markings that extend from behind the ears to to center of the cheeks, very light weighted. Tools: Spears, tridents, javelins Other: They’re main defense is just running away, they roam in patterns for fresh food and to avoid enemies, also one of the most colorful and diverse species.
5. Reptool/Wrenchtool
Avg Height: 1′ / 30cm Habitat: Protected areas such as ravines Physical Traits:Excellent jumpers, faster than Scraptools. Tools: N/A Other: Due to their community lifestyle, they often all share knowledge of both mechanics and medicinal herbs, they also have grips on their shoes to help climb rocks, colored stripes on clothes are symbolic of earning honor through a unique rite of passage.
6. Scraptool
Avg Height: 1′1″ / 33cm Habitat: Wherever there is scrap to be scavenged Physical Traits: Small horns (gray/black), long and thin tails with a variety of tips, light weight. Tools: N/A Other: Quite resistant to bodily harm (mostly bruises and blunt force trauma), often wear stripes to either annoy Reptools or because “they look cool”.
7. Stegarbasaur
Avg Height: 5′3″ / 160 cm Habitat: Anywhere with lots of rocks Physical Traits: Strange biology to support eating rocks (large stomachs), heavy (again the rocks), bumps on the arms are small, compact rocks capable of being shot out as a defense mechanism, though rapid and excessive use can result in injury. Tools: N/A Other: Can open mouths surprisingly wide to eat larger rocks, very hard teeth, excretes the rocks from their backs, wear bare-back shirts to support this, often have long hair, gas expulsion from pores is an adaptation to repel predators.
8. Gluphosaur/Hydrodon
Avg Height: 5′ / 152cm Habitat: Secluded locations, either in groups or solitude Physical Traits: Tail for balance. Tools: Water hose or glue dispenser Other: Some secrete a clear liquid (like sweat) that when combined with water, creates their glue, they store the water in tanks on their back.
9. Pteracopter
Avg Height: 6′10″ / 208cm Habitat: The skies Physical Traits: Wings for arms and bird-like legs. Tools: N/A Other: They typically travel in small groups and sleep on secluded cliffsides.
10. Cementasaur
Avg Height: 5′5″ / 165cm Habitat: Secluded areas with plenty of rocks Physical Traits: Thick tails, similar internal biology to Stegarbasaurs. Tools: N/A Other: Their stomachs digest the rocks and turns it into a cement-like mixture to be spit out.
11. Slamtool
Avg Height: 1′ / 30cm Habitat: Nomadic Physical Traits: ??? Tools: Hammers, picks, etc. Other: They communicate with each other through a combination of rhythmic tapping and a unique sign language.
12. Junktool
Avg Height: 1′4″ / 40cm Habitat: Deserts, nomadic Physical Traits: Tail for balance and speed, quite fast. Tools: N/A Other: Light-footed, crafty, speak an unknown language, kleptos.
13. Drillasaur
Avg Height: 4′10″ / 147cm Habitat: Underground Physical Traits: ???, can’t see in daylight very well, short sighted also. Tools: Drills Other: Aggressive, excellent sense of smell.
14. Crabcavator
Avg Height: ??? Habitat: Underwater caves Physical Traits: ??? Tools: ??? Other: Amphibious, ???

I Finally Watched That! Dinotrux Season 4
Tumblr media
Full disclosure up front: season four is way too short. Ten to thirteen episodes is perfect if you ask me. Regardless of my preferences on official run time, season four is a great way to cap off my binge watching session of Dinotrux. I’m not going to go through a plot this time, because you can find that in the last three Dinotrux posts. It changes every episode with the underlying reason behind the show being teamwork and the like.
Good: This latest season, though short, brought back almost all of the previous minor characters. George the hippie Dozeratops brings his mellowed out mood to a few episodes, the Cementasaurs, Crunk and Chunk, show up in the last couple of episodes looking annoyed and skeptical, and the Gluphosaurs and Auger the Drillasaur all appear in this fourth season helping out friends out. Those call-backs are just the start. We also saw references to past seasons with Skya’s battering ram device, Ton-Ton’s wings, and Ty’s stealth paint job courtesy of the Tortools also appear here. It’s been great to see these characters called back and remembered considering many kids will remember them, but won’t recognize the significance of the references. It shows that the show is aware of itself and its players.
We also have new enemies and characters from the start of this latest season. Pteracopters grace the very first scene in the very first episode. We’re then immediately introduced to Stealth Scrapadactyls. We also meet early on different variations of Scraptors and a new (albeit crazy) Dozeratops. Well, a distant relative anyway. My favorite new “enemy”, though, is the Gearwigs. They are extremely well thought out and specialized for this show. All of these upgrades just prove that the creators are invested in the show. I am looking forward for the next season.
Bad: I have but one complaint this season: it’s too short. We only get seven episodes in season four so they crammed everything they could in to it. Don’t get me wrong, it is all exciting and fun all the time, but it could have been stretched a bit more to allow us to really soak in the changes and the new characters. Even if we aren’t going to see them but once or twice we should be able to really get to know them. And that’s all I have to complain about.
Verdict: This really was an action-packed season. The team up of all the villains (again) was not unexpected but welcomed nonetheless. The builds, though fewer and farther between this time, were bigger and more technical than anything before. And the guest characters were top-notch to be sure. I’ll see you back for season five (whenever that is). So, it goes without saying, but watch this show
