Speaking Sonny how do you think he and Gloria would get along🤔

This is a really good question!

If Sonny were in the Bruised Fruit-verse, I think he’d like Gloria to a degree that’s almost problematic? Mostly in that after Kay had the abortion, he’d completely turn on her, even if he did come to consider her family.

Out of all the Corleones, Sonny would be the sibling to enable Michael escalating his relationship with Gloria. For all of Gloria’s faults and the fact that Kay is just objectively a better person than Gloria, the fact that Gloria’s Sicilian-American and doesn’t have a problem with the family business cancels out everything else. She’s one of them, as far as he’s concerned.

Before the events of the fic, Sonny and Gloria would have a playful kind of friendship, he’d probably call her “kid” and they’d joke around a lot. Michael’s his kid brother, even if he is the Don (and he’d totally tell Gloria embarrassing stories about Michael growing up). During Bruised Fruit, it’d become clear that for all of the lightheartedness, she’s still a woman in this hyper-masculine culture. Sonny sure as hell isn’t going to intervene on her behalf just because Gloria doesn’t want to be a housewife.
