man hyv really is trying to tell us they’re ending the tears of themis japanese dub because of covid like the game didn’t come out mid-covid and the va’s aren’t still recording other projects like….. we all know it’s probably money lmao
I finally watched the latest (uh) YGO movie, DSOD and...
While the plot followed the manga rather than the anime (even if it still had too much Kaiba for my taste) -
Why the frick was that last scene?
(I won’t comment about the plot, because anime/manga movies’s plots make no sense, Bleach’s Hell Verse was completely bonkers even if it had nice tidbits and lore building)
In the 2000s anime, even in that, uh, trainwreck of a last season (seriously the manga version was way better), Atem was depicted as, uh, not white - unlike Yugi’n’pals, to show that Atem was, like the Ishtar siblings, egyptian.
But in DSOS, in Kaiba’s last scene, Atem was whitewashed?
The only explanation that makes sense is if that scene wasn’t real, but Kaiba was having a wetdream while being comatose after tinkering with his “tech”, otherwise, I can’t really understand how something released around 19 years later than the original material and its anime adaptation managed to critically miss “that” plot point...

Emerald Beyond's launch sales were rather abysmal, and disheartening as that is... I kind of feel like it's deserved. I am (finally) enjoying the game. It's not as if it's a terrible game. It just doesn't feel like it should sell well at its price point. I hope it has some sort of legs and sales will pick up over time. Japanese side of the fandom is absolutely loving the game, so that might help. But it's kind of worrisome after seeing an article of Square Enix cancelling games. I'm sure they'll keep going through with their remaster plans, because those do well no matter what. But I wonder how these sales might hurt the series future otherwise. I also wonder if Kawazu and the team are really looking closely at the sales, feedback and circumstances.

Potato-size metallic nodules strewn across the Pacific Ocean seafloor produce oxygen in complete darkness and without any help from living organisms, new research reveals.
The discovery of this deep-sea oxygen, dubbed "dark oxygen," is the first time scientists have ever observed oxygen being generated without the involvement of organisms and challenges what we know about the emergence of life on Earth, researchers say.
