this wasn't as difficult as I was expecting. except for the wings. they are EXHAUSTING to draw/render etc ( i knew that already, but jfc it does not get easier)

i don't really have any notes, so i thought i'd just talk for a bit this time. i plan on doing a redraw page for most of the main cast because i do enjoy them, even if they take a long time. i like breaking down the designs and figuring out all the little details. it makes me appreciate them more :). I also like having a homemade reference that i can use when i'm unsure of something (i've been using Uzi's redraw page fairly regularly for this purpose, especially for that fucking railgun). that's also why i add notes and stuff, in case someone else finds it useful.

finally made a proper ref for my other md oc! this is mallory! my little blorbo who i can NOT decide on a proper design for. don't be surprised if i end up changing her again lmao

she comes off as a quiet, unassuming weirdo to most people. When she's around friends/people she likes she becomes a lot more energetic and mischievous

she knows a bit about coding and the inner workings of computers, although she's nowhere near advanced enough to properly utilize a lot of the tech on Copper 9. she's getting there though, and is constantly seeking out new devices she can take apart and learn from.

she's semi interested in the internal mechanics of worker drones, however it's a LOT more complicated than what she's used to and kind of intimidating. plus, that's a person…

Her backpack is actually a computer! it's made of salvaged parts and has a touchscreen wired to it that she can use. It can also be connected to other devices with varying results.

she seems to know a lot about the situation at the WDF outpost, even though she didn't arrive until later. she doesn't like talking about it, or how she got the red bow she wears around her neck.

I'm still experimenting with his backstory, all you need to know rn is that Lucas lives by himself with his companion bug Seven (as well as lots of other normal bugs) and is just kind of doing his own thing

Spends his time scavenging for anything interesting or entertaining he can find. The bugs help him scout out good locations/keep watch for any potential threats

Lucas can't communicate with the other bugs, but Seven can! Seven receives messages from them that they can then pass on to Lucas.

Tends to speak slowly in short sentences. He's used to adjusting his speech so that Seven can understand what he's saying, and he just talks like that all the time now. Also tends emote with his face/body more than his voice for that same reason

Has no real interest in finding out the truth about his solver abilities. As long as he has everything under control and isn't being harmed by them he doesn't really care

more oc stuff! this one's been sitting on my sketch sheet for a while and i REALLY wanted to do something with it but i'm glad i waited because now that i have more plot beats figured out i can add more references/plot stuff! yipee! i know none of it makes any sense right now because most of the characters here haven't been introduced, but it will eventually! (assuming i get around to actually making something out of these characters.)

I left the bottom bit blank because it thought this would look REALLY COOL as a title card or something. The problem is… i don't really have a title for the overall story yet. So it's just an empty space. Which kind of sucks but oh well.
