#Septemberfest - Featured artist - Modern Comforts & Presenting to you more family fun with Spare Room Arts!

Welcome to the third installment of the Septemberfest blog. We are only 30 days away, and the excitement is building with every second. In todays blog we have a feature on local lads Modern Comforts as well as more detail about all the great family activities we have on offer.

First of all on to our featured act Modern Comforts. Reigning from Burton-Upon-Trent, the local lads are a four-piece indie band hailing musical influences including the Arctic Monkeys, Oasis, and The Strokes. Their debut single “Easy Tiger” which was released digitally at the end of 2016 is guaranteed to get the main stage rocking and primed for Razorlight on the Saturday!

Modern Comforts are another great example of the kind of young local talent that we are delighted to bring to you from Septemberfest. These are lads to catch now, and we’ll sure they will not disappoint!

Following on from our blog post yesterday, we’re delighted to announce that Spare Room arts will be joining us at Septemberfest 2017! Having gained gold awards in previous years, this year will not disappoint! Offering a diverse range of craft activities for all ages (adults and children alike), everyone is welcome to take part. A comfortable chill-out zone is provided for those who just want to take the weight off their feet and watch the world happen around them. 

Their&;creche facility will be available for those who need a few hours on their own – maybe go and watch a band, or just enjoy what the festival has to offer for a few hours kid free, safe in the knowledge they are having lots of fun! Children left in the creche will be given a wristband to identify them from other children, and will be with a Spare Room Arts member of staff for their duration of time with us. All children in the creche will be given refreshments to keep thirst and hunger at bay. For the parents accompanying their children in the tent, there will be a selection of teas, coffee and cakes.

Craft activities include:

·       Embroidery canvas bags. This workshop is aimed at adults and older children (teenagers) to make yourself a really cool embroidered beach bag with funky beads and brightly coloured thread. Full instructions will be given.

·       Temporary tattoo workshop

·       Samba drumming with Glamba

·       The most amazing circus workshop and shows on the planet!

·       Skipping continents for this workshop, but we have didgeridoo workshops with an amazing musician who has worked with the likes of The Levellers.

·       Walk about performers (to be announced)

·       Storytelling

·       Adults yoga

·       Kids yoga

·       Drawing table

·       Amazing mermaids

·       Willow workshops: The chance to learn a real skill in this are while soaking up the beautiful natural environment. A must for some mindfulness or simply to relax and unwind after a busy festival-filled day.

·       Pottery workshop

There are not many more experiences where you can see the calibre of music on offer as well as entertaining the whole family such as the one we have on offer for you!
