Honestly, a part of why I'm giving the earth talk the benefit of the doubt is that Matt was improvising the shit out of that conversation

he was pulling stuff out of his ass that hes never really considered before and it kinda showed?

bc matt is not giving ANYONE in the party a bone. theyre gonna get a mess of conflicting ulterior motives and opinions. and its up to them to figure out what to do. there is NO higher power here, at the end of it all, when a decision must be made, it's gonna be up to them

and thats why i think matt... didnt want to give ashton a direct order, a direct bid - he wanted to give ashton room to interpret their desires as they see fit

i cant read ka'mort et al as yet another party with a conflict of interest - which is why Im like yeah, that sure is a thing fucking rock and stone would say. if mountains could talk etc.

it was circle talking, it was the bagua of conversations, it was a nothing burger of a statement - matt through ka'mort saying "you are my memory" feels like a very big implicit push for ashton to make up their own damn mind
