“Rory gave me her old hockey socks to turn into a stocking for Sawyer. I fixed the hole in this one,” Eddie points to the gold one that’s taking up the backside of the stocking. “And sewed them together. The top part is the special ones we got her for holiday camp last year.”

“I see,” Steve takes it into his hands and flips it back over to the front. Eddie’s embroidered Sawyer Munson in gold to match the back. “He already has a stocking, though.”

“But that’s from a store. This is handmade. Way more special.”

Eddie is so excited, and Steve thinks it’s amazing the time he’s put into it, but one thing is at the front of his mind. Something that he knows Eddie didn’t purposefully ignore.

“Is Rory getting one?” Steve asks.

Eddie’s face falls.

“Shit.”

Steve smiles sadly. “Yeah.”

“I didn’t forget. I swear.”

“It’s okay. Rory has a special stocking so it wasn’t your first thought. I just wanna make sure it is a thought,” Steve says before kissing Eddie’s forehead and walking over to the fridge to get a drink.

Eddie is quiet. The sewing machine doesn’t start back up.

Steve looks over and sees him biting his lip, trying to hold back tears.

“Baby, it’s okay.” Steve walks back to him and pulls him close, holds his head against his stomach and runs his fingers through his hair. “You didn’t do anything wrong.”

“I don’t want her to feel forgotten,” Eddie admits, voice broken.

It was one of the biggest holdups they had with having a baby. They never wanted Rory to feel like they loved a child they had together more than they loved her. She would always be their first.

“She doesn’t.”

“I asked her for her old socks to make this! What if she thinks I love him more than I love her?”

Steve huffs out a small laugh. “She knows you love her so much. You don’t need to worry, baby. We could grab my old socks and make her one?”

“Could we?” Eddie tilts his head back, looking up at Steve with wide, hopeful eyes.

“Sure. I’ll get them now, but she’ll be dropped off soon so you may wanna wait to make it.”

Eddie nods and hands Steve the stocking he made for Sawyer.

“I’ll clean all this up and then make pancakes for dinner,” Eddie says excitedly.

Steve shakes his head fondly. “Just try to keep it down. Sawyer’s sleep-“ A cry is heard from Sawyer’s nursery and Steve sighs. “Never mind.”

Eddie gives him an apologetic smile, but continues his tasks.

Steve stops at the fireplace before going to Sawyer’s room, hanging up the new stocking and wondering how he got so lucky to have all this love in his home.

A couple of thrift stores have opened in my area in the past year. I didn't expect to find any merchandise, but after @i-believe-in-unicorns-and-you showed me the Rick and Morty sweatpants she found at Marshall's and I thought about the crazy finds on @shiftythrifting, I figured I'd give it a shot.

And who knew: it was time for a thrift store roundup! 👚🧦

The first store had a section for gifts and accessories. My expectations were low, but when I rounded the corner, the shelves were loaded with Rick and Morty stocking stuffers. The first thing I saw was this bathrobe:

Hmm, that's a cute figure...maybe someone should draw Rick wearing that. 🤔

This sock packaging is adorable. It looks like a pint of ice cream!

On a similar note, I actually thought these were cans of pickle juice. Adult Swim has no problem selling Toxic Rick and Shrimp Rick energy drinks, so it wouldn't be off-brand, but nope: they're boxer shorts that advertise your SWAG.

I realize that Swag is the brand name, but selling Pickle Rick boxers with SWAG on the waistband isn't exactly helping the show's bro-y reputation. The can is cute, though.

Anyway, back to the proletariat: I love the design on these boxers. OK, maybe Rick didn't think it through, but he's proud of his gift!

Finally, I went to Five Below. They had one of the strangest pieces of merchandise I've ever seen: a projector that casts a picture of Rick and Morty underneath your car.

I could see somebody doing that once for Halloween or another event, but all the time? Wearing merchandise isn't enough--you have to represent the show while you're driving? Are guys hoping that Dan Harmon will see this and be so impressed that he makes out with them a little?

Then again, I guess there's a reason it has a clearance sticker.

🧥Do you own a robe? Describe it. I have 2! One is fuzzy, it once was white (it's old) with a green belt and it has a frog on it 🐸 the other one is black, very thin with pink (blah) paw prints on it 🐾

☕️Do you have a favorite mug? Describe it. I do! Currently it's the one I use at work. It's purple and it says "no, I'm not angry, this is just my face" 😶‍🌫️

🧣Do you have a favorite blanket? Describe it. I have multiple. I don't know why. One is a large, dark blue one, with teddy bears on it, the other is white with leopard spots. Plus, of course, my trusted weighted blanket!

🍵Coffee or Tea? Hmm. Depends. I like coffee, but only the taste (can't drink caffeine), but every once in a while I crave tea. I only drink both occasionally. So... both 😁☕️ ↳🔥🧊Hot or Cold? Cold for the coffee, in any weather, hot for the tea 🍵

🧥Do you own a robe? Describe it. i sure do! i love it! it's really long, it's dark blue, it's ridiculously soft, and it has fleece in the sleeves and the hood.

☕️Do you have a favorite mug? Describe it. i have a lot of mugs, and a few are tied for favorite! one has a bunch of famous artists' depictions of cats, one is red and blue and handmade by someone locally and it's just really beautiful, and one was my husband's grandmother's and it has this pretty traditional polish design on it.

🧣Do you have a favorite blanket? Describe it. yes! it's big and reeeeally soft and gray and has elephants on it.
