Natsuko backstory finally! MAPPA didn’t hold anything back wow, I had a feeling this episode was gonna go crazy because of the key visuals they kept posting on Twitter and it def lived up to the hype!!

We’ve had Natsuko tell her story, but letting others tell how you’ve made them feel gives a different perspective. We are just the sum total of our interactions with people, after-all. Enjoyed seeing 3 distinct stages of her life and the impact she had on people. Midori and the track star were my faves.

MAPPA going all out and it’s just a lesbian awakening 😂 that Midori first love scene was so good!!

Natsuko really had all these people head over heels for her and other than Midori, she really ain’t gaf about any of them. That habit of not seeing people as people has been an issue she’s had since childhood. Not even remembering the trackstar’s name after she pushed him to break the 100m record was craaaazy. That Adam’s Apple scene also went incredibly hard.

I like how the animation studio president saw that as Natsuko’s biggest weakness and gave her that romcom assignment to help her grow, technically it did, by having Natsuko go into the A tale of perishing world, but not in the way she expected lol.

Notice how the camera focuses on Luke when Natsuko wakes up after the president says she hasn’t found her first love yet… crumbs.. we will sail 🙏🏾

Nah that ending is too ominous please tell me this won’t have a tragic ending 😭 who tf is this bird

ranking gojo's outfits in the anime/manga!!! not counting official art and i might've missed some these are just what i remember off the top of my head

7: the collarbone shirt

the girls were going bonkers bananas over this look but im sorry it doesn't do anything for me. i don't care about his collarbones. i prefer a buttoned up gojo, the flashes of skin i like to see on him are not 'delicate' like shoulders/collarbone (seeing those on geto however is a different story, it suits him, that's more his style imo) but im going to expand on that later. such a shame too bc black is his color but this shirt is just Not it. and those fuckass glasses!!! ive always hated them good lord

6: wild side

okay soooo he's very cute in the ed i remember being very charmed by him when i first saw this but the clothes do nothing sorry. i think it's the colors. but i also think it's the collared half sleeve shirt that's just not working in his favor like either commit to a full sleeved collared shirt or no collar at all. also the shirt under the shirt doesn't work either. points for the blindfold though!!!!!!

5: baseball dad

again the way the girlies were going googoo gaga over this look.....no <3 this is Not hot. come on. this is the most office dad look i've ever seen. i do like the sleeves rolled up exposing the forearms that's always tasteful, and the one button left undone giving just a hint of neck. nice! and i like how this outfit is contained and put-together. i don't like the glasses though, i hate the shape. BLINDFOLD SUPERIORITY !!!!!!! for me what makes this kinda cute is more the context of the outfit, supervising the baseball game and bonding with his students <3 and also i like how it's his attempt to look more sophisticated and like a real adult that's cuteee

4: jjk0

CUTE!!!! a nice casual look. see, again i like how he's covered up lol it just suits him so much. i guess it just fits also bc he's so closed off from everyone around him and i like when his clothes reflect that but it's very stylish all the same. this is peak casual relaxed getting over his bf gojo and i love that for him. extra points for the blindfold once more !!!! black is his color 🖤✨

3. robes

ONE OF MY FAVES and we only get it for 30 seconds but the long loose flowy look is just superior on him and he's fully covered which i love. he fills it out so well too with his physique. any character wearing traditional clothing is always a plus for me!!!! really not much else to say here it's just so lovely

2: vs sukuna

HE LOOKS SO GOOD HERE. giggling and twirling my hair hiiiii gojo. this is a great look bc it's understated in its simplicity but highlights his physique very tastefully. like it's not even the outfit itself but more what it's conveying. he is strong!!!! there's a sense of power here, and i love how it's not overt either, we're not seeing like every single line of his abs, which would just give me the ick (sorry toji girlies), it's more like the charisma is on full display here. and i know it seems like thus far i prefer covered up gojo and yes that's true, but if he's going to show skin, it has to either be unintentional (hint of navel as his shirt hitches up, back of the neck exposed with the blindfold, etc), or purposefully on display like this. gojo’s not a skinny twink despite how mappa portrays him, and he's far from dainty in his mannerisms, so dainty displays of skin just don't work on him (the collarbone shirt). if you have a strong physique this is how you show it off!!! well done gege!!!!!!! i just really hope in the anime they don't give him ab lines like toji pleaseeeee that'll ruin it for me. he has such a nice build and this is coming from someone who really doesn't give a fuck about muscles...(pssst here's my veryyy unpopular opinion but that nanami scene that was making the rounds well i just didn't care for it bc i don't care at all for that insanely built look in fact it turns me off 😭)

1. the uniform™

the undisputed champion. number one in my heart always and forever. this is how we're introduced to gojo and im not ashamed to say it was over for me at first sight. how can you not want to know more about him??? it's such a neutral look, so simple and doesn't define or enhance anything but at the same time it's so sleek and sophisticated, all black and all straight sharp lines making up his silhouette. huge fan of how his neck is covered too like every part of him is hidden and inaccessible which is exactly who he is as a person <3 it's so unassuming that it becomes invisible in a way and elevates his charisma if that makes sense. while i really love the vs sukuna outfit, that one conveys a 'going all out' energy which is great but this one just imbues that easy breezy cocky confidence ('my students are watching so i'm going to show off a little' he says in this bedroom voice while his lips basically brush sukuna’s ear WHEW I'LL STOP) that enamored me to him instantly. not to mention the shibuya insanity <3 this really is the superior look!!! sometimes less is more and for someone with such explosive power and a larger than life personality, for this all to be contained in this totally nondescript uniform just clicks in my brain in the best way. the juxtaposition really makes this one. in conclusion he looks THE BEST when he's covered up and understated ‼️

What did you think of Sukuna's cover? The whole fandom went crazy with the cover of volume 29! 😭 I have no doubt that Sukuna is definitely Gege's favorite, he just looks so damn hot. I love that he's making the mouth on his belly smile, it's like he's saying "Look, smile for the camera" 😂

Plus the obvious correlation it has with Yuuji's cover; Sukuna looking up (at Yuuji) and Yuuji looking down (at Sukuna) just makes me love these covers more.

I was fucking over the moon for this cover. I have been thinking about it ALL DAY AND NIGHT. Gege said “let me cook one last time” and gave us HEAT.

Sukuna is so fucking beautiful here. Tongue out (like a slut), belly mouth grinning, throwing out the dismantle (I feel like that’s his favorite move). I love this cover so much and I can’t wait to add it to my shelf when I finally complete my JJK manga collection. The Yuji cover was also amazing (the Guanyin in the background yes Yuji the very embodiment of compassion) and I love that he brought it full circle. Yuji on the first volume, Yuji on the last volume. What an incredible journey JJK was. MAPPA better make us proud when they get back in the mines to animate this shit.

Gege really does love Sukuna and I think given time and rest, he may even revisit the series and give us some more content with him. I also hope he explains Yuji’s domain expansion because that was one of the strongest and best chapters in the series. The demand is high, and Sukuna is one of the most fascinating and seductive villains I’ve seen in a while.

In the meanwhile, this lit a spark in me and I’m gonna keep writing fics and enjoying these characters. It made me so happy to see my King again. 😭😭😭

I absolutely ADORE that nobara is mahito's natural enemy. that friggin rocks!!! my favorite duo working together remotely is such a badass idea really highlighting how in sync they are with each other. (interesting contrast to how megumi found it difficult to work with yuji in the fight against the mustache guy earlier.)

bby nobara flashback from fumi's pov. 😭 she was such a precocious child and fumi's perspective of nobara was so interesting.

sorry, minor tangent. but basically, what i'm getting from rereading this, is that yuji's whole, 'giving people a proper death' is all bullshit. you die, you die. looking for logic or reason in a sorcerer's death-- deaths being "proper"-- is pointless. todo's right. mahito brought it up too, that yuji's motivations were childish. a kind of... typical shonen hero motivation that sounds half-hearted at best. you'll notice, from this point on, yuji never brings up giving people a "proper death" again. at least, i haven't noticed him doing so.

anyway, back to cool shit i wanna see in the anime.

aaaand there it is. yuuji's realization which leads directly to... i know i've said this over and over again, but this sequence is one of my all-time favorites in jjk. or... any manga actually. it's just so fucking cinematic. i can SEE it in motion and now it will be! please please pull this off, mappa. 🤞 i need this to be poetry in motion.

need to close this post off with something. so, here's psuedo-geto, an honestly compelling villain, bouncing with the prison realm. the heroes failed and didn't release or even retrieve gojo. scarred, mutilated, or dead. and we're left on the precipice of a world changing event while the big bad strolls away.

what a fucking way for the season to end? unless they go post-shibuya arc, but i honestly think the season ending on this fucked up cliffhanger would be fantastic. lol

As for Mappa and Nanami, the absolute WHIPLASH of him baring his forearms/hair pulling/quiet and yet explosive rage/Daddy Daddy DADDY to THAT scene of him before Mahito takes him out...I was on my knees I tell ya. I honestly don't know how the animators didn't go feral as they drew those panels.

I'm cracking up at your description, but it's accurate for sure. If it helps, Nanami continues to make me fucking insane. His death scene is still my favorite, and while I prefer the manga's handling of it over the anime, they did a beautiful job with his final smile as well as Yuuji's later remembrance.

I shouldn't get started on the Yuuji scene because I will not be coherent (if you hear howling in the wind, it's me), but that scene drove me insane in the manga, and the anime went above and fucking beyond. I keep saying it's orgasmic, and know what, I mean it. Yuuji's expression, the insanely good voice acting, the hunting sequence—fuck me, that's art.

I think I'm into anime again...

I thought I would give up on modern anime forever, none really stood out and the underrated ones are hard to dig up..

But this anime...this anime...

IS AMAZING!! (so far)

A modern anime that has a good OP AND ED?! And it actually stands out from the crowd, even if it is a delinquent anime. If anything, the fan service is more towards the female audience then it is the male side, which is refreshing to see since it isn't a shoujo. If I had to compare it to another anime, it'd be Urusei Yatsura (the original, idk about the remake). The humor is similar and the genie following the MC around is similar to Ataru and Lum's relationship.

When I first heard about this anime, the green haired guy stood out the most. I mean, I was introduced to this anime by the ED, and then I got curious because I thought it was a romance shoujo reverse harem, but then I realized it was entirely different then that (well, minus the harem), and then I clicked on images and saw this green haired man, Marito. Instantly reminded me of the pink haired guy from Yarichin...so I knew I was in for a gay time.

Matakara... Poor baby. It's no surprise the trailer refers to him as an "innocent baby". I fell in love with him immediately, he's very sweet and gentle and unfortunately really naive, like Makoto from Free! It looks like they have a lot in store for him, so I'm excited on where the writers plan to take him next (instead of him just obsessing over his childhood friend that hates his guts 😭 cmon he deserves better)

also his brother looked hot af but unfortunately he hasn't made an appearance yet only hinted at.

Going back to the "genie" and Mac's relationship...

It's very adorable, that's all I have to say. Again, similar to Ataru and Lum, but less violent and (so far anyway) no romance involved.

I have high hopes for this anime. It's made by MAPPA, which are the same guys that made Yuri!!! on Ice, which was an anime I hyperfixated on for a year or two, so I'm hoping this anime makes me feel the same way towards the end of it. It's just a shame since it seems people are sleeping on this, which isn't much of a shock. It doesn't have big booba women waifus or lolibait, so it doesn't appeal to men. And even though I said it more appeals to women, it's still not by much. The artstyle isn't typical shoujo and the romance isn't that great either. The only female character has a brother complex and has a terrible personality in general. So, it's basically like Yuri!!! on Ice, but without the homosexuality... so ofc it's probably not going to be the most popular out there right now but...idk, again, I just have hope it'll do well.
