I am slowly but surely finding myself writing Nereus appreciation/explanation/character study into three of the fics I’m currently working on, and it’s probably because this fandom is a teensy bit more critical of him than we should be and I think that needs fixed. He is not the man that needs bashing

#has he screwed up before? oh absolutely #he absolutely has made mistakes. and some pretty big ones too (*coughALPHEUScough*)#BUT. has he also been the Nekton’s AND most specifically Ant’s biggest defender and supporter? 100% yes #i feel like we need to give the man a little more credit than we have been #mans got six thousand years of survivors guilt and had to work with Proteus and raise Alpheus #i know things went south with Alpheus but you can’t convince me he wasn’t downright heinous as a teenager and child #guy has a level of confidence he does not deserve nor have #give Nereus more love people. he’s also a class-act comedian #the deep 2015 #the deep cartoon #the deep nereus
