The '99 girls in authentic ‘90s outfits. The more my collection evolves, the more I find myself drawn to the original ‘90s dolls and the Girl of Today clothing. They feel so distinct from the modern American Girl aesthetic—pinks, purples, and an almost overly childlike appeal that the brand seems determined to push.

I get that these dolls are designed for ages 8 and up, but the Pleasant Company dolls from the early ‘90s were just on another level. The quality alone was unmatched. Sometimes, I feel like selling every Girl of the Year doll I own and starting fresh—focusing only on Girl of Today dolls and their outfits.

Tonight, I went down a rabbit hole researching the Halloween costumes from the ‘90s and, well… let’s just say I spent way too much on eBay.

Am I the only one who feels this way? Like I just want to sell everything and start over?
