Here are a few detail views of my piece “The Girl in the White Room” from my previous studio. She is a mixed media sculpture made of stoneware, underglaze, glaze and reclaimed materials including cardboard, paper, wire, caulking, hot glue, static grass, acrylic mediums, ink, graphite, and charcoal. There might be a kitchen sink in there too. 😂 She was created as the personification of a childhood memory (a scary one at that), but also represents how our earliest memories of home, no matter how dark or bright, become a part of our inner architecture. We carry these spectral structures with us, and they haunt our present experiences.
