okay! total shot in the dark here. if this flops pretend it never happened. but two people i know offered their answers and my heart is in this now!! if you’d stop and read this you would make my heart so happy. you don’t have to be a persona fan to participate! i have widened my horizons LOL!

what i’m doing:

a (incredibly informal) psychological research experiment of sorts. that sounds heavy, i know, but all i really mean is i’m interested in hearing your answers as a human. i’m looking into some of the psychology behind humans and their favorite characters!

if i shared my hypothesis explicitly i fear it may cause bias in participants… so that will wait!!

if this gets enough answers i will absolutely share my findings and thoughts. should that post ever come to fruition, nobody’s specific answers will be shared in order to protect your privacy.

requirements:

• have played/watched/experienced any piece of media that has characters at some point in your life.

(*i know i said persona specifically up there, but im opening it up to any piece of media! go crazy!)

• have a favorite character whom you like a lot.

• be willing to answer some questions!

how to give your answers:

• through my inbox. anonymous submissions are totally fine!

• comment on this post. i don’t mind how long your answer is. if it takes a 20-comment thread, so be it!

• message me privately. if you’re trying to do that and can’t for whatever reason, comment and i will reach out to you!

the questions:

please answer in as much detail and as honestly as you can. there is no such thing as oversharing! if you are uncomfortable answering certain questions, absolutely feel free to skip it. just make sure you indicate which one you are skipping so i don’t get confused haha.

1) what is your favorite piece of media? (i.e. a game, movie, tv show, etc.)

2) who is currently your favorite fictional character (whether they’re from that media or not)?

3) do you see a lot of yourself in that character? i.e. you relate to them a lot? in what ways specifically? why or why not?

4) were they your favorite character from the get-go, or did they dethrone another character?

5) what do they have that the other characters don’t have, if applicable? if you’re not sure, is there a reason you like them more than another character(s)?

6) have you had similar experiences in life to that character?

7) what are your favorite traits about this character?

8) be completely honest: do you personally have any of the traits you named as being your favorite in that character? do you dislike those same traits in yourself?
