I just started watching channa mereya post ginni adi marriage! I am so confused by the family dynamic? I know he hates his step mum and the grandad is guilty about some old friend / recipe? The dad is always taunting adi as well. Could you Plez give me a mini summary?

The Grandad is Ginny's dad's (Kushwant Garewal) old business partner who screwed him over by stealing the *~super special exclusive*~~*~~~ recipe book when Kushwant got Alzheimer's. So basically, he's trying to repent for his sins by trying to do good by Ginny and her family.

The stepmom is kiiiiiiiiinda shady (pretty sure the dad and her started up their relationship when he was still married to Adi's mom, and maybe the affair led to Adi's mom dying? Idk if it's by suicide or an accident or just grief or what, they haven't really made it clear.... But anyway, mom's death and subsequent quick replacement in the fam by stepmom is why Adi is so angry and hateful at her) but she generally seems to be neutral more than anything. Not a saint by any means, but not a terrible human being either. Just one that's made mistakes and kinda trying to live with them, without hurting any more people. I think she wants to be validated by Adi, I kinda sense that longing from her, but idk how true it is, or how long it'll last before they'll conveniently turn her evil for plot drama. Either way, she's the most interesting character here so far in her current state of neutrality.

It's Adi's dad who sucks the mosttttttttttttt. He's just an emotionally/verbally abusive asshole who is the root cause of all of Adi's psychological issues and the general unpleasantness in the house. He's just a prick beyond any rhyme or reason. Fuck him, I hope he dies soon, coz damn, that character is annoying as hell.
