sorry this is unprompted I just felt the need to send Yuri julia gillard again. i like to think someone might see this out of context and think I'm like a gaylor but for Australia's first female prime minister.
Tumblr media
"gaylor but for australia's first prime minister" is incredibly funny. are you a gaylia? a gayllard? regardless sorry i cant join you im using up all my these-politicians-are-gay conspiracy thinking elsewhere
Tumblr media
pippa are you able to provide evidence in a court of law that we've already had a "yuri prime minister" as you say

Despite Obi-Wan cutting Anakin down to size, that’s not how Obi-Wan wanted things to end. Gillard reveals that he designed the fight so that Obi-Wan was trying to wear out Anakin in order to calm him down and set things right.
“I did write [the fight choreography] like a husband and a wife having a fight. Anakin thinks Obi is maybe having an affair with Padme at that point, so he's already gone to the Dark Side. For Obi, it's about just trying to absorb it long enough that he can get him back,” Gillard said.

23 May 1967
BBC's director of sound broadcasting, Frank Gillard, informs EMI head Sir Joseph Lockwood that, with regard to "A Day in the Life,"
we cannot avoid coming to the conclusion that the words “I’d love to turn you on”, followed by that mounting montage of sound, could have a rather sinister meaning.
Tumblr media
The BBC's ban was reportedly lifted in 1972, though whether they'd decided it was not sinister or that that was the point is unclear.

So in a recent interview with Nick Gillard (stunt coordinator for the Prequels), he revealed that he’d come up with an alternate version of the climax of the final battle between Obi-Wan and Anakin (and also outs that Hayden’s perpetual clumsiness was the inspiration for the High Ground in the first place):
“The thing we fought for most of all was the High Ground thing - we hated the High Ground thing... Hayden and I used to walk to this restaurant at night in Bondi, and there was this big grass slope - that was the quickest way - but he fell over it... the first time we went he fell - upended himself and slid all down the bank and said ‘I’m never going that way again.’ And in my head I thought ‘Vader is bad on a slope.’ It gives you something to work with. But we had a different version of that where that didn’t happen, and where Obi cut his arm and his legs off a different way.
“There was a version where... that whole volcano thing where they land on a droid wasn’t there. Originally they... swang off that great big rope and they just landed on the side of the volcano... right next to each other, and straight away Anakin... disarmed [Obi-Wan], grabbed him by the throat - and Obi’s saber is down on the ground - and Anakin says: “I’m sorry it has to be this way, my Master,” and actually lets it go. Obi hunches to get away from it, sucks his saber up.. and as he pulls his saber up he cuts through Anakin’s arm almost by mistake, and then chops through his legs almost by mistake... It was more of a defence gone wrong sort of moment.
“It was strong. Even the boys - Ewan and Hayden - went to George and said “George! This!” But he was having none of it.” (x)
