In the land of night and dolls

glass eyes rolling, pitch black sky

a lone sliver of the moon illuminating the land.

You never feel alone, there are dolls everywhere

frozen faces, their eyes seem to follow you

paranoia growing, silence..

then a crash as a porcelain doll falls and shatters

your heart beats rapidly, slowing once more

this land chills you to the very core..

The heavy night air surrounds you in your land. Barely illuminated you make out figures by the hundreds.. no.. by the thousands just sitting there.. waiting.. staring. You feel the pressure of the eyes burrowing into your flesh, then you accidentally knock something over. "Mama" it says as it's pull cord returns into it's back. You breathe a sigh of relief, these are all dolls, silly little girls toys. Plaything, harmless toys of the imagination. The night air must have been playing a part in the paranoia. Nearby you see a lake ever so faintly glowing, reflecting the light of the dim moon. You make out a pasture and bring along the three least creepiest dolls you can find. You lie on the pasture and stare at the sky.. you begin to doze off.. you snap awake, how long has it been? The skies still pitch black but you feel you've been out for hours. The dolls remain exactly where they were, this comforts you. Perhaps this land isn't frightening after all. It isn't without danger, those ruffian imps surely will arrive sooner or later, but the dolls pose no threat. Perhaps maybe even a mass tea party is in order. With you as the queen you proclaim "Let them eat cake!" by the light of the moon. You could get used to having a thousand loyal subjects who object to none of your laws.
