Jour 8 du challenge #juinoccult de @lunecornue : Pierre. J’ai longuement hésité sur le choix du cristal qui pourrait constituer mon chouchou (je suis horriblement infidèle, mon cœur balance entre l’obsidienne noire, la seraphinite, la malachite, la calcédoine, la labradorite ...) puis j’ai réalisé que c’était bien plus simple que ça. Ma pierre la plus précieuse est une de ces quatre pierres trouées, et chacune d’entre elle a son histoire. Deux sont des cadeaux chers à mon cœur, l’une d’une belle âme disparue, l’autre d’une sœurcière qui lui a fait traverser la Manche pour me trouver. Chacune vibre d’un pouvoir unique, féerique et magique. Chacune est un outil incomparable dans ma pratique, une compagne irremplaçable dans mon quotidien de sorcière. Ce n’est pas pour rien qu’en anglais on les appelle Hagstones, "pierres de vieille sorcière". This discovery was an absolute dream come true!! Some people search their whole life for a shell like this! This Junonia is a rare shell found on Sanibel-Captiva and this week I was blessed and guided by my mother’s spirit and our shared love for shelling to this beautiful prize! Truly a Gift From the Sea! I have never been so happy or felt so close to my mom than this experience ❤️ I will treasure this shell forever! Shelling has been and will always be so close to my heart and I hope others can find as much joy as I have through it :)

Gifts From The Sea My first memory of watching television was a Popeye cartoon over 55 years ago. I can remember being fascinated by the little “Orfun” Swee Pea ...who not being a child of Popeye or Olive Oyl had a mysterious past and a strange tail and would crawl along the floor like a mysterious gift from the sea. I identified with this strange creature in some fascinating way that even today is lost in lost in a nostalgia almost forgotten. I remember my parents and family in some continuous violent physical battle of endless arguments of blows and punches which the cartoon had made a parody ...strangely it made me smile and think all was well and this was the world as it is and as it should be. The violence of the cartoon was lost on me as it was simply a reflection of the world I lived in and looked up to from my place on the floor. Swee Pea moved through this chaotic world with a endless charm and innocence that I connected to on a very base level and seeing him about the floor with his mysterious tail like appendage formed a improbable explanation in my infants mind....Swee Pea was like my family ..different under their clothing than others...different under their mind than others.

Her hair dancing wild in the evening breeze, she yells, Maddie: You just left!! You left and you didn’t even say goodbye..after everything you didn’t. even. say. goodbye!! Drew: I thought it was better that way! That, that if I just went away I couldn’t hurt you- Maddie: So why are you back?! Drew: Fuck Maddie... because I’m selfish?? Because I don’t want to be anywhere you’re not. Because I… He swallows hard, weight sitting upon his chest. Drew low: Because I care about you. Maddie: Because you care about me? He nods searching her eyes it was clear she understood what he thought was too early to say aloud, too weak to say aloud even in his own head. Looking around he realizes how much of a spectacle they’d become. A soft panic glazing over his face as his eyes begin to wander. His stomach shifts uncomfortably and his palms become clammy. Falling was so easy. But admitting to himself that it had happened? That was the hard part. Pulling her away from the crowd, they tucked behind a cool shaded wall, their fingers quickly becoming entangled in one another's hair. Their breath ragged and low. Sitting her down he laughs at how quickly the scene had escalated. Burying her face into his chest she whispers, Maddie: I thought you left me here.

 Cradling her head he smiles,

Drew: Nah.. you're stuck with me.
