why is there so many versions of this gif on Gifcites was this an old internet meme that I missed out on or-

the lengths i go to find artists/source of geocities era blinkies T_T

basically trying to source the blinkie below that was spread w/out credit here

after scraping the tag to find the post that i reblogged that had that in the first place doesn't tag op but rather cites the place they found the image. so i went to gifcites and played with around w/ different terms until i find this page that the wayback machine archived and luckily that page sourced to the artist page! yippie! but then clicking upon it sends you here. No images in that page loads, meaning i can't verify the source. So then going ahead before the artist changed domain, they turned the main page to a redirect. Clicked on it, and saw this

Clicking doesn't do anything as only a box loads up for a millisecond before disappearing. Only credits, Legal Stuff and Memberslogin. Neither are useful as none really show any leads to the webmaster themself. So now I'm stuck again, unable to verify the artist.

In hopes that the artist kept their presence, I searched up their name/handle that they clung onto. Except that Moonlight is generic enough name that other companies latch into their branding. (even with names such as "moonlight design" or "design by moonlight".) Looking up "moonlight blinkies" doesn't help either since google is dogshit and thinks by "blinkies" they mean by random tumblr posts talking about blinkies in general. Not helpful! Now I could look up at the people associated with this person here But I don't think i could go that far w/ the time ive spent already + i just want to use the thing for a page in my artfight profile.

anyways, don't rely on tumblr dot com webcore spaces and blogs if youre wanting to use said image but wanted to look for the source yourself later
