hi! how did you arrive at jay/gibson? it’s not a ship i’ve ever thought about since they don’t really interact, so i’d really love to hear your thoughts on it!

WELL the other day I was talking about shipping with my bf and the idea of rarepairs were brought up and I know that Jay & Bill Leyden isn't rlly a rarepair but we were talking abt that when it just kind of came to me ??? Gibson and Jay for me have always been underrated tragic characters with their breakdowns, Jay is like k companys Gibson, he's kind of just there to most ppl, has a breakdown, and is pretty much forgotten afterwards. I've always had this connection with them, but it wasn't until the other day that I had actually thought, "Wow, they could make a rarepair." The fact that they've never met or know of each other's existence doesn't really matter in shipping, especially rarepairs, so it doesn't bother me !! I feel like they'd just get each other in a way that maybe their friends don't, and they'd really bond over the affects the war had on them. A lot of fluff & angst stuff tbh !! I'd honestly love to come up with a better ship name for them then gibl'eau, but it's all I have right now 😞

Im starting to see the vision! I think they would bond over being seemingly the most affected as they both feel very deeply and everyone else hardens their emotions in the face of everything whereas the both of them only feel it that much more. They go to each other because no one else understands quite as much as the other does what they are going through. When Gibson breaks, all de l’eau can do is hope he’s safe and okay since he would have no clue where he went beyond that he’s not dead. Then, jay would have to grapple with the knowledge of what can happen to sensitive people like him while no longer having anyone who understands the way his heart works

They're both very tortured guys who would bond over the way they were affected in the war and find comfort in each other like no one else before ☹️❤️‍🩹
