Ghost Story Genius Annotations!

Today I sat down and added a lot of our research for Ghost Story to the Genius annotations! Feel free to give 'em some love and add your own.

(I also want to note that a lot of our research, being about queer people and Chinese people in the 1880s-1910s, deals with some pretty heavy topics, including primary sources that feature racism and homophobia from that time. Proceed with caution if that will be disturbing to you.)

it is once again silly little design o’clock, this time my first Ghost Story doodle because i have not been able to get this gag out of my head :D

Did you have the fact Józef and Hao got arrested planned out from the beginning, or was that something that came along later?

It came very early on! We knew we wanted to talk about queer tragedies from history, and found similar newspaper clippings in our sources like Stranger Intimacy by Nayan Shah and Strangers by Graham Robb.

I think the reading was maybe a little more confusing than the full script because we had to summarize the scene where Joey finds out they are specifically arrested for attempted sodomy but I hope it still makes sense; they were arrested for being queer!
