I just love the school mysteries living the most boring ah human lives while Nene and Aoi off on magical adventures. Like Nene and Aoi teleported to the moon meanwhile the human mysteries just doing math homework. It’s peak. Also like joy becoming a wizard? I love that for him… and Nene bashing Akane on the head.

And of course the best part

Ooooh I love this question! It’s such a tough decision but I think I’d have to say the Ghost Hotel. Is it mainly because of Mitsukou cannibalism? Yes but also because it gives me Hotel Transylvania vibes. Aoinene angst + fairy maid Aoi…werewolf Kou…vampire Hanako…Teru somehow still being an exorcist…love it. However HKOM is a very close second, I love the high school sitcom vibes. The premise reminds me a lot of Sabrina the Teenage Witch (which I’m currently rewatching at a very slow pace). Aoi and Nene being secret teenage witches who cast spells and get into shenanigans, it’s so tropey. Again it’s a hard choice bcuz they’re all so good

It’s just that I think abt them so often, Ghost Hotel Mitsukou you will always be famous. My unhinged son and son-in-law (real ones know which is which)

This thing has always fascinated me... especially the part "Likes the blood of cute girls, but it would be a pity if they dried up completely. So just a tiny bit is enough."

This gives me the impression that… let's say… for your blood to be wanted by vampire Hanako, you should be… A) A girl. B) A "cute" girl (to him). And since Hanako is a… nice vampire... should I call it? He will feel bad if he ended up harming his targets or killing them… so, just a tiny bit of their blood is enough to satisfy him… or so he says.

Now… to the part I want to get into… There are 2 persons Hanako… let's say tried doing that to them, as far as I know.

Let's start with…

Nene.

-I wonder what happened with her after that... did she become a vampire Like Hanako or something...?-

Everything is going great until this point.

Now, the description from before started falling apart a bit...

A) A girl. X  B) A "cute" girl. The "cute" part is ✓, the girl part is X. Now, I will also add this here as well: C) He is Tsukasa. ✓✓✓

He is a special case, a special exception.

Now, let's say what makes vampire Hanako want your blood a lot depends on your cuteness. The cuter you are to him, the more Hanako will feel the need for your blood.

Nene is of course so cute to him.

Let me get back to the that little sentence for a moment… here it is…

Vampire Hanako "misjudged the amount of blood he drank". It seems the amount of Tsukasa's cuteness in his eyes is way too high, although he sees it as "it would be a pity if they dried up completely. So just a tiny bit is enough". It seems with Tsukasa… he couldn't control himself, Tsukasa is super cute to him, his blood is so sweet to him it seems, that he couldn't help it, kept going because he couldn't have enough, a "tiny bit" is not enough, and…  couldn't stop, until Tsukasa… ended up dying. And Hanako accidentally killed Tsukasa.

I think that is how it went?

Well… maybe…

I wonder if that was the only time Hanako tried doing it to Tsukasa… or if there were other times before… and he managed to hold back, but in this one time he lost control and couldn't stop.

Anyway, if it happened for multiple times or only one time, it seems Tsukasa is not bothered by that at all. Ghost him is all happy and I believe when he was alive, he was still feeling the same way, he is happy to try helping Hanako get the blood he needs, and maybe… dying in Hanako's arms is not bad at all to him. Dying for "his good big brother" Hanako is worth it to him.

Let's pretend Tsukasa from this AU said that. They had the same sort of experience after all.

And here… such a sweet big brother, doing all that for your beloved, "cute" little brother. How caring and sweet.

Also, the fact that Tsukasa's grave isn't with the other graves in the graveyard, and is "alone" and there in the forest some distance away from the other graves, shows how special Tsukasa is to Hanako, right? A way to give Tsukasa's grave more sanctity. His grave is treated with all the care and attention by Hanako. And also, maybe Hanako wanted for it to be private, and wanted to have more privacy in general with his "cute, dear little brother".

Now, I will add this short part...

What was said about Tsukasa...

Hmm... "cannot sleep without his favourite pillow", this is so cute, but why? I always like to go and say it's a present from Hanako, and therefore Tsukasa feels comfortable when it's with him. It's even still with him as a ghost, it must be so dear to him.

"Even among the employees, it seems there are those who can see him, and those who can't." ........... "why is that so?" That's what I want to know.

At least we know Nene can see him, since they interacted with each other, but... what about Hanako? Maybe he does too? But still likes to decorate and take care of his "cute" and dear little brother's grave. A way to show his love and care even more.

Anyway, I had these thoughts in mind for so long. It's time to let them out. Hopefully, I will do the same with the rest remaining thoughts someday.

In the official Halloween art hanako had returned into a cook and tsukasa had returned into a human but hanako didn't care about himself and his only priority was to fix tsukasa's seal . What does that mean 🤔🤔

Well I'll be honest, I don't think it means anything too profound.

The event switched the characters' roles, and in this switch Hanako (who switched with Kou) became the hotel cook, and Tsukasa (who switched with Yashiro) became the human guest.

The fandom has been thinking about the seal being on the wrong side, and apparently, Aida would have gotten the side of the seal wrong on the first art, and then made the art of Hanako correcting the side of Tsukasa's seal.

I don't think it means anything too deep, it just shows that Hanako's main priority is his brother as always (and if you notice, in the second art he's already in his manager clothes again).

Uhh kinda stupid question from someone who's technically new to the fandom despite following the manga for a while, where do ya'll find the official au's and their art? Like the Monster nursery one, I've seen them a lot but where does one find the originals?

There are many places to find the AUs!! Fair warning, some of them like Monster Nursery and Ghost Hotel have multiple parts but they’re still easy to find

The easiest place to find them is through the wiki page. Just google the name of the au + “wiki” like I did in the image above, and the first link should take you to a page with the full au.

There’s dialogue and images that will take you through a Choose Your Own Adventure type story, only the options have already been chosen for you. This is probably my favorite place to read them just because it’s all very easy to follow

The next place to check is the @dbs-scans account here on Tumblr! They post all the official art and aus, and I think they might even post the chapters. To find the au you want you could simply Google the name of it and their account should pop up, or you could search their account directly through Tumblr by clicking on their archive or using the search bar feature on their blog

They include all the images from the au with the text that correlates with them translated below. I believe they usually do the aus in full, which is very helpful if you’re trying to find an au like Ghost Hotel with multiple parts. If they don’t have all the parts tho, you can always refer back to the wiki or go to the next source I’m about to show you

Our next resource is the hanakokun.officialarts account on TikTok. Beware, I don’t think they have all the aus, but I know they’ve posted some of them. They get their translations from the aforementioned dbs-scans account which kind of brings this response full circle lol, it’s a small fandom. They’ll post the images with the dialogue in the captions, and you should be able to find them in order all grouped together. You might have to scroll a bit to find some of the older aus. This is one of my favorite resources for keeping up with official TBHK content tho bcuz they post the new chapters in full and it’s an easy way to find official art

You might also be able to read the aus on Twitter if they’re still up but I don’t have Twitter so I couldn’t tell you for sure. At one point I was trying to find the last part of Ghost Hotel and I deadass had to refer to Google Images, sometimes you gotta scrounge around for yourself. But that shouldn’t happen too often because the resources I gave are very reliable!!

Thank you for this ask, and it’s not stupid at all!! I had to ask my TikTok followers where to find the HKOTO au a few months ago when I got a fic request for it. It took me a minute to figure out where to find all the content, which is standard for joining any fandom that has as wide a range for content as TBHK does. I’ve seen BSD fans have similar issues. And by asking that you probably saved a lot of people’s asses who were too embarrassed to ask the same question
