hi!! i'm stumbling into your ask box again, hope you don't mind
i wonder,, what are your thoughts on Geto's upbringing? i've seen quite a few takes on what his childhood could've been like, but as long as the story itself is not particularly generous with answers in this regard, the topic stays controversial -- at least for me. i personally tend to think that there were some issues in the household, and the environment he grew up in was not exactly a safe space for a child. because we have to assume that, being that strong at the age of sixteen, chances are he was familiar with his technique for long enough already, probably having started consuming curses pretty early on. so what does that say about his parents? thinking of the prospect of forced eating makes me feel unwell. and what about the fact he was a sorcerer born to a non-sorcerers family? how frightening and unclear and lonely must that have been? were his parents aware of their child's exact whereabouts after he enrolled into Jujutsu High? how much did they know? also, taking in consideration all the problems inherent in Japan's educational system, is there a chance that Geto's gift was a sort of convenience to them? because sorcerers are usually pretty well-off due to high demand and low supply and their son's abilities could solve financial problems related to getting him educated? could they have some inner motifs while also being genuinely concerned about Geto's well-being? might it be a reason why they encouraged their son, a literal child, to absorb those foul, god-awful beings? could they fully understand what they're asking him to do, lacking the ability to even see those creatures? but then again, i find it hard to imagine somebody coming out of an abusive household and still having a strict moral codex and a concrete sense of justice like Geto's. and when he says that the sorcerers have a responsibility to protect the weak, doesn't he think about his parents first? what if he's clinging so determinedly to his ideas because he needs them to somehow rationalize his childhood experience? and what if those ideas stem from his parents guilt tripping him in the past? and what's up with his distinctly traditional clothes? might he come from a religious background?
so what's your opinion on *vaguely gestures at everything above* all of that? apologies for such a lengthy ask, i obsess over thinking about geto and just needed to share it with somebody more competent and knowing than me,, and i would genuinely love to hear your thoughts!! thank you! 🧑
I don't mind at all! Welcome back to the askbox.
I was looking around for some posts where I speculated about Geto's upbringing that had some lovely additions to it by @lulubaii where they share their thoughts as well, but I couldn't find them, sorry.
That being said, I go one of two ways on Geto's upbringing where I either think his childhood and relationship with his parents was fine, normal even. Or where he didn't have a stellar upbringing at all.
I lean more toward the latter, for reasons that I'll get into in a second, but I do appreciate how sad him having a normal boring childhood would be when you add the context of him feeling like he had to kill them to cement his own ideas. Where killing them wasn't born out of any specific negativity toward them, but rather what they were -- non-sorcerers. If there was love there, then that makes Geto's actions all the more heartbreaking and awful, and adds to the idea that there was no going back for him once he committed to the path he wanted to take. If he ever had his doubts about his actions (and I like to think he did, no matter how much he didn't want to): How do you forgive yourself for that? How do you reconcile that with anything other than overwhelming grief and regret? You can't. So you don't. So you press forward and insist, even to yourself -especially to yourself- that you're doing what's necessary.
All of that being said, I actually think that Geto had a troubled upbringing, or at least one that was neglectful if not outright abusive. There are two reasons for this; the first being the question of how he even knew that he could eat curses, and the second being the fact that his immediate next step after rescuing Mimiko and Nanako (two sorcerers -children- that were abused by non-sorcerers that didn't understand what they were and used the excuse of fear to hate/harm them for it) was to kill his own parents.
Edit: I found two of the posts I was looking for. [xx]
There's so much immediacy to him going after his parents that I never really articulated before. Assuming that the report of his actions reached the higher-ups --and his subsequent execution order was issued-- the day after, and he met with Shoko in Shinjuku in the late afternoon/early evening, that leaves him that single night/morning to find a place for the girls, travel to his home, kill his parents, and then travel to Shinjuku.
And sure, you could argue that he was operating on the 'high' of what happened in the village, but I find it hard to believe that the adrenaline carried him through the entire journey to kill them unless he had something to be angry at them specifically for. My question would be: Was he upset over something they did or something they didn't do? Is it a case of them using his technique for their own gain until he was scouted and that income could be supplemented through his missions instead? Or did they fail to protect him from the same kind of people that set him off in the village?
The answer that I've landed on after lots (and lots) of thinking is that Geto's parents were probably just extremely poor, and him figuring out his technique was the result of hunger. He most likely found out soon after eating one that Curses weren't a viable food source, but until he tried one, they would have been one that only he had access to. It would've doubled as a secret only he knew and a way to lessen the burden of providing for him, which is exactly the kind of thinking that I could see a young child falling into. Then, as he and his collection of curses grew over the years, it's possible that he (through the urging or actions of his parents) started using his technique to get money for their household from the people around them, which would have alienated him from the people in his town and might have inspired a less extreme but equally hurtful version of the fear and hate that he saw mirrored with the girls.
I could also see how this would be something that solidified Geto's stance on protecting non-sorcerers while putting them in a lesser position than himself (i.e. him seeing them as 'the weak;' a concept that you can tie to both parents that he was providing for -protecing from poverty- and townsfolk that he was exorcising curses for -protection from curses), on top of adding some interesting context to his reaction and response when Gojo asks if he should kill the members of the SPVA. Specifically, him saying "Forget it. It's pointless" makes me wonder if he's been in a similar situation where he had to talk himself out of using his abilities against non-sorcerers after their actions caused him pain and he was falling back into that mindset when talking to Gojo. That they can't act against them, regardless of if they want to, so there's no reason to dwell on it.
Additionally, Geto exorcising Curses for money would have more than likely drawn the attention of a Window, seeing as it's their job to scout for curses. (Therefore, providing Sorcerers a way to make money.)
If Geto was getting rid of Curses around his village frequently enough or for long enough --like the nine years between his Technique manifesting and his being admitted to the school-- it would have probably created an anomaly where there weren't any Curses (or any strong enough Curses to require a Sorcerer) where there should be, prompting an investigation into why that was happening.
My (loose) supporting evidence for this idea would be the issues with food that Geto develops after the Star Plasma Vessel incident (a habit that he could have broken and then fallen back into once he was under enough stress, which isn't at all unheard of, especially with people that grew up food insecure) and the role he falls into once he starts his cult, i.e. using his technique to "cure" people to collect curses and money. He seems perfectly comfortable doing so if you don't count his general dislike of dealing with non-sorcerers, so it isn't unrealistic to me that he'd be operating under prior experience. Same as the struggles with eating, it'd be like falling back into a bad habit of sorts.
Side Note: I heard a quote the other day that went something along the lines of "One year of consistency can change the trajectory of a person's life, regardless of what stage of life they're in" and while this was speaking toward stable, consistent support and positive relationships changing someone's life for the better, it stands that the opposite is true as well. One year without adequate support and negative or absent relationships can very much turn someone for the worse, whether that represents itself internally or externally. And I think it's safe to say that Geto was very much lacking in consistent support and friendship (him and Gojo going on so many missions alone, away from each other, Shoko, and their kohai) in the year between Riko's death and Geto's defection.
All of this isn't to say that Geto's parents are to be blamed for their own deaths or that his actions weren't inexcusable, but it does add important context, I think.
Trauma, especially the kind that he and Gojo went through, fundamentally changes a person, and not just emotionally.
A topic that I've always found interesting and highly recommmend further reading on if you want is how trauma physically affects our brains and the rest of our body. Specifically, when our brain is still developing throughout our childhoods and teenage years, significant trauma (Toji) and repeated triggering of fight or flight (the influx of missions) can cause the brain put itself into survival mode even when danger isn't actually present. (This is partly where we get things like extreme anxiety, ptsd, c-ptsd, and other stress disorders.) The problem with this is that when your brain goes into suvival mode it pushes blood away from itself and your vital organs and out to your extremities (arms, legs, etc) so that you can get away from whatever the danger is. This, in turn, can cause issues with memory formation, emotion regulation, our ability to reflect and respond to issues we have with moral flexibility, and our ability to feel empathy (etc, the list goes on) on top of having long term effects on our bodies itself like lack of appetite, persistent anger and irritation, disassociation and confusion, faster heart-rate, issues with over- or under-sleeping, susceptibility to chronic illness, etc.
But let's get back on topic and answer your other questions:
I imagine Geto was very lonely before he went to Tokyo; no one in his family were sorcerers and I doubt that anyone else in his village was either, since he was scouted to be a sorcerer (probably by a Window) instead of referred by one. I highly doubt he had anyone that he could relate to about the whole issue of seeing curses and the inherent disgust involved with using his technique. I also think the isolation concerning the latter probably didn't go away even after he moved to the high school, seeing as he points out he's the only one that truly knows what a curse tastes like. It's something that sets him apart from both sorceres and non-sorcerers, something that others him.
I don't think that his parents had much of an idea of what his time at Jujutsu Tech was like. I highly doubt the school gives an accurate report to their students' families on what their kids are doing, and if Geto's parents truly viewed him/his technique in a negative light, I'd think that they were most likely just happy that he wasn't around while also getting a free education from a religious private school,* plus an allowance from the school for his missions and rank as a sorcerer. (If I remember correctly, Special Grades get a decent amount of money based on their rank alone, even before adding the payouts involved with exorcising higher-level Curses.)
I actually don't find it all that hard to see Geto coming away from an abusive or negligent household with a high moral code and a strong sense of justice. Plenty of people do all the time, and the idea that they don't is more of a myth than a fact. Yes, some people grow up and continue to perpetuate cycles of abuse, but correlation doesn't at all equal causation. In fact, the opposite is more common; where someone escapes their initial unhealthy environment only to end up in another one because they have no other frame of reference that allows them to recognize the ways in which it was unhealthy in the first place.
As for why he chose monk robes to wear after defecting, I'll reference Gege here, and say that Geto picked the Gojo-kesa simply because it had Gojo in the name and it helped him hold on to what he had given up. (Now that I think about it, it also probably served as a reminder of why he was doing what he was doing in the first place. Kinda like the "Do it for her" meme, but with clothes that have your best friend's name.)
*In chapter 3 it's stated that the Jujutsu Technical College operates under the facade of a religious private school.

In any of your future playboy!Getou parts (I know part 4 is in development), will you delve into detail of Getou’s process into gaining the reader’s trust and show her that while he didn’t want to be in a committed relationship before, he does with her now? Another thing, what would/is Shoko’s and Gojou’s reaction to their friend genuinely being in love with the reader and wanting to be with her? Will they like, change their attitudes concerning how they perceived Getou’s relationship with reader (especially shoko since she once told reader, β€œdon’t fall for his bullshit or you’ll be reduced to a number.”” Also, what happened after Getou tried to kiss reader but reader rejected it? Like, it must have been a very awkward situation and I can see like, the reader getting out of there and convincing telling Gojou and/or Shoko that she had to leave cause of an emergency or something and then avoiding Getou after in a more lowkey kinda way so it doesn’t raise concern from Gojou or Shoko
➳  minors / ageless / blank blogs dni  ➳  fic: playboy geto x inexperienced reader
➳  notes: hi, anon! 🧑 so regarding the backstory about playboy geto x reader, I've been dropping small details here and there purely for background plot purposes. I actually don't have any plans to dive further into those details to be honest. the reason is because I plan on ending this specific mini story after part five.
(note: even if the story itself complete I will keep it open for requests for specific hc's or imagines in case anyone asks for it!)
my playboy geto story was only ever meant to be a small drabble, but I was heavily requested to write more parts which is why I did hehe however, I'm more than happy to give some back story for you regarding your questions! (ps. sorry if this answer turns out longer than expected)
what happened after geto tried to kiss the reader and she rejected it:
geto approached you with cunning eyes and a devious grin; when you first met, his intentions weren't in the right place. he saw a pretty face and knew it would look even more beautiful pressed up against his sheets. what he didn't expect was to fall for you in ways which left him dizzy and confused.
at some point during his budding friendship with you, suguru forgot who he was - he failed to remember the reputation that he so masterfully earned: the mystical seducer who lured many into his bed, wrapping his arms around lovers and whispering sweet nothing into their ear, only to leave as quickly as the season turns and having them wonder if any of it was real or simply a magical dream.
he leaned in for that kiss because he was guided by his scrambling heart, tossing logic and truth out the window. he's been spoiled by his confidence because he's never faced rejection before.
I mentioned that it was the point where he knew he had to change, and the reason is because of the distrust in your eyes when you stared at him. for the first time he saw the reflection of the man that he's become; it was a mirror of reality that riddled him with shame.
what happens after is silence, a blanket of tension surrounding you both. the situation isn't awkward necessarily, but the mood is heavy. the both of you are facing truths that you don't particularly want to tackle. your fingers fall to your lap, and you turn away from him.
what eases the pressure in when satoru remerges back into the room with utahime and mei mei. suguru casually leans against the sofa, his eyes still on you as you get up from your seat to approach the crowd. the two of you simply pretend like nothing even happened, but for the rest of the night you're catching the other staring longingly from a distance.
geto's process on gaining the reader's trust, and earning his commitment:
a few days after the kiss, suguru geto asks you out on a date. "you're lovely, and I would like to spend more time with you..." he says while the both of you are standing just outside your front door.
"you seem to have an affinity for lovely things, suguru" you boldly respond, but your eyes are soft looking into his own.
"if that's a no than I'll happily admire you from afar," he admits, his sweet words making your cheeks burn. "just one dinner, and we can see how it goes from there. if you'll have me, of course..."
geto earned the reader's trust through time and patience. his dates with you were always innocent; dinners at his favorite, low key restaurants. long walks in the park, and late night strolls. visits to cultural exhibits and art museums.
with physical intimacy entirely off the table, you started to see the intelligent spectrum of that beautiful mind. this allowed suguru the chance to woo you with his personality alone.
for him, it was a breath of fresh air not losing himself into the daze of passion, and he found himself enjoying the slow pace of romantic descent instead.
one of the key factors that led to this relationship working out was his honesty. suguru could have easily fibbed about his dating history, or choose to omit details. the man knew that it would only blow up in his face eventually, so he just granted the viewing of both the good and the bad.
despite his own reputation, suguru was equally curious about your own personal love life. you were always so quiet about it, barely letting out two sentences whenever he would ask a question or try to prod an answer out of you regarding your own dating history. frustrated with the barrier, he decided to breach the subject on both your pasts while the two of you were hanging out at his place.
"I want us to be able to talk about everything," he said, giving you another sign of just how serious he was about pursuing this relationship.
that night he revealed the secrets of his tainted history. of his pursuits for lovers because the man believed that desire shouldn't be suppressed. that sex and intimacy was a part of the human experience, and one that should be indulged in.
"I've always been an honest man about my intentions. I never made any promises about commitment to anyone," he pointed out, a blush tinting his cheekbones. "It's just that...sometimes people tried to force it on me, and that always led to messy situations"
when you asked him why he chose to carry on without strings, suguru replied that he simply wasn't ready. he revealed that he grew up with so many responsibilities, and he didn't want to tie himself down now that he had his independence.
that night you also disclosed your inexperience. you were so shy about the reveal, embarrassed that a woman your age has gone this long without ever being touched, without ever being kissed. an expression of guilt washes over suguru, and he immediately apologizes for attempting to kiss you at gojo's place in the way that he did.
his thoughtfulness is extremely endearing.
"we are on two completely different sides regarding this," you say with slight apprehension, "I'm just scared to tread this path with you. what if...what if you break my heart?"
"and what if you break mine?"
his question throws you off. you stare at him with puzzled look, like you're unsure if he meant what he asked or if he was just teasing you.
"you don't think that scares me too?" suguru sincerely questions, then takes your hands in his own and brings them close to his chest. "we are different, yes, but we've both never experienced this before," he gives you a reassuring smile, "and I think it's nice to know that we can figure it out together..."
that was the moment you dropped your guard; that was the gesture that secured his slot. from then on, suguru approached every conflict or challenge by simply laying all the cards out on the table.
and it worked every single time.
shoko and gojo's reaction to geto being in love with the reader and wanting to commit:
shoko and gojo definitely had two very different reactions to the situation. they've both known suguru the longest, and have both been witnesses to the cycles of his relationships. sometimes they were even caught in the crossfires of geto's mistakes, losing friends and acquaintances because of his actions.
gojo sees the change in geto first when the two of them are alone together. as a pair they naturally garner attention, but suguru no longer engages himself into any entanglements. his friend makes it clear that his time with you is a priority, and whenever he has doubts on how to approach things, he would turn to satoru for help.
"do you and your girlfriend have plans for tonight?" gojo asks one evening; a part of him using that specific title to see if he can stir even the smallest reaction out of suguru.
"she's not my girlfriend," geto replies with a slight pout and a tiny blush, "well, I haven't asked her yet anyway..."
satoru parts his lips in surprise. he was half expecting suguru to fight him on it, for him to get jitters over the thought of rooting down with somebody. his reaction makes satoru's blue eyes grow tender, and it's almost like he can read geto's thoughts in that moment
he can see the uncertainty, the smallest sprinkle of insecurity, that you might not accept if he did ask.
"you sure about that?" his friend teases to lighten the mood, and bumps his shoulder against geto's, "because you guys definitely act like it"
shoko, on the other hand, took a while to believe that suguru wasn't just playing a long con on your heart. she wasn't supportive about you dating him, and would flat out refuse to hear suguru's side of the situation.
"you don't know how to keep it your pants" she scolds at him over the phone, the two of them having another bickering argument. "does she even know that you hooked up with mei? that you hooked up with utahime?"
suguru groans, "I hooked up with them in high school. that doesn't even count! it's in the past and it doesn't matter..."
"I know this game of yours, suguru. I've seen you play it..." shoko scoffs, "you're dipping your toes into something new, but you'll stop swimming the second you get bored"
"thanks for giving me a chance, sho" suguru coldly responds through gritted teeth, "it's nice to know how highly you think of me."
when suguru and shoko fight they aren't dramatic about it, but they both hold an icy front that would make anyone feel frigid.
you don't know that they stop speaking after that. that they both avoid each other as much as possible, and that gojo stays out of the situation entirely. they kept it under wraps because everyone would still hang out without any issues being brought up.
but the distance is when shoko sees how geto fawns over you, recognizes the small acts of kindness that he mindlessly fulfills when he's by your side. and what completely shifts her perspective is noticing the way he gazes at you when you aren't looking, paying attention to the compassionate radiance that floods over him.
there's a level of guilt that stirs within her. her and satoru have always chastised suguru for his sins; snubbing the fact that the man grew up far too early in his life, that he was the anchor of support for his single mom and two younger sisters up until he left his home.
that he suffered the consequences of a broken commitment.
he's been running way from the duty of responsibility for as long as she can remember. and now that she sees geto in this new light, she almost can't recognize him.
later that night, she catches him alone outside on the patio. instead of walking away, she approaches her dear friend.
"cigarette?" she offers.
suguru looks at her over his shoulder, a tiny smile of relief curling at the corner of his lips. "no, I'm good..."
the two of them stand side by side, watching the waves crash against the sand as a breeze runs over them.
"so, what is it about her?" shoko pries nonchalantly and puffs out a cloud of smoke. "what makes her so different from the rest?"
suguru bites back a grin, "I have an affinity for lovely things, and she is by far the most captivating..."
"what makes you say that?"
"I've never..." he exhales, "I've never been drawn to a person the way I am to her. I've never been greedy about wanting more. There comes a point when I've had my fill, but with her it's like...I can't get enough, like my body is now dependent on more..."
there's a silence that follows his statement.
"she's...she's the one for me, shoko."
shoko nearly drops her cigarette, her brows tugging upward as she watches suguru sheepishly tuck his bottom lip between his teeth. her friend turns to face her and carries on.
"If this doesn't work out, I guarantee you it won't be by my own choice but you'll still have my gratitude because she's the best thing that's ever happened to me..."
shoko knows suguru like he's an extension of herself, and his heartfelt declaration speaks volumes.
she chuckles, her free hand moving to pat his broad shoulder. "I never thought I'd live to see you talking like a lovesick fool..."
"I know right," geto acknowledges, an easy expression highlighting his handsome features.
shoko and gojo don't weaponize geto's past against him after that. their his best friends; they love him and just want him to be happy. if anything, they both become your biggest supporters and they can see how much he's changed and grown for the better while being with you.

Hi, Neon....Are you free now? If yes, please read this BL manga : Loss Time ni Hanamuke o by Cocomi...
It's not the sweetest but it's the one of the most realistic BL that I've read until now. It's an angst with a happy ending. And somehow I got SatoSugu vibes from this couple (sorry if I'm wrong). Like they love each other but lack of communication became their problem. It's a break up come together again story...
If you have read it, can I ask your opinion on it? Thanks.....
ANON. ANON. 🧑
I hadn't read it but prioritized it at your request and so, so Satosugu. Haha I wonder if I'd have noticed that had you not framed it up but at the same time, even visually, the long hair and Suguru's own mane... it was bound to happen. Also, don't apologize for your thoughts or interpretations! I definitely don't and I'm sure I've been loud and wrong before (and will be again✨). I appreciate you sharing your thoughts with me and thank you for recommending this!
OPINION
There was something so nostalgic about it. Not just because, unlike most stories, it begins at the tail end of a relationship. But to see what's clearly established affection cooled by the disconnect of miscommunication and a lack of appreciation... I think everyone can relate. It wasn't a sad, traumatic story. But it was a bitter and rueful story that could still evoke tears if you've been in a similar situation. That situation, of course, being one that proves that sometimes love is simply not enough.
Two perfect pieces don't fit together one day and call it happily ever after. Four years in and the couple still struggles with selfishness, with the idea that sex is the same as intimacy or honesty. That someone who can be unilaterally focused on their words, to the point where personal care falls to the wayside, can come up so short when they really matter.
This felt like a really honest (and short!) insight into what broke Tsukushi and Toui apart but also what made them work. In fact, this ask reminded me of another ask wherein I kinda lamented that BKDK or STSG-esque dynamics would be hard to find in something short. But here we are, you with the ultimate sauce and me eating my words. πŸ†
We don't know if Tsukushi and Toui end up staying together. Returning to one another with the promise of change could very well be short lived regardless of how earnestly they want to be with one another. But the idea of love spoiling into resentment, especially in the presence of what are clear acts of love being taken for granted do feel SatoSugu-esque in nature. We know there's More (TM) to their story, of course, but this almost shows us that, even if they weren't child soldiers, there would still be a point in their relationship where Geto's overly caring and accommodating nature may want more than catering to Gojo who is so closed off in his own little world. In JJK universe, he's driven by his own identity as The Strongest regardless of how he drags Geto into that entitled status that it blinds him to Geto's own withering mental condition. Moreover, this fundamental idea of Understanding being a necessary part of love is a huge point of contention between SatoSugu that was so disheartening, as well. Thus far, it feels like we only get Gojo's interpretation of events but this story gives voice to Geto's as well which makes him snapping and breaking away from Gojo slightly less uncharacteristic but rather justified when he lacks critical support.
TL;DNR: This story wasn't an emotional rollercoaster fraught with traumatizing drama. Instead, it was a quiet reminder of the love that lingers when things don't end in a bang but rather a whisper. Two lovers desperately huddling their hands around the flickering flame of what once was, uncertain why things simply don't work between them any longer. Relatable pining, would recommend. Especially if you're looking to get a whiff of SatoSugu in another flavor.

hi!!
i feel like i'm repeating myself over and over again at this point, but i lack vocabulary to express all the emotions i got hit with while reading your reply, so -- THANK YOU SO SO MUCH FOR YOUR THOUGHTS! i swallowed your meta in one go, incredibly thoughtful and fascinating!! i think your take on this aspect of Geto's character is now easily my favorite one. once again, thank you!
what i referred to when mentioning Geto's β€˜distinctly traditional clothes’ was actually his highschool uniform and how it visibly stands out, at least for me, among what his peers chose to wear (if i remember correctly, the uniform in Jujutsu Tech is custom-tailored?), sorry for not making it clear enough! but, taking your ideas into account, i guess his choice actually makes perfect sense since he has a certain image to uphold in front of his parents for them to buy into the facade of a religious private school. but perhaps it can always be chalked up to simply personal taste. anyways, what you bring up while answering this particular question of mine... oh my god. it's both immensely interesting and excruciatingly painful.
also, thank you for your recommendation!! i'll definitely read up on this topic!
bye!! 🧑🧑
Ah, my bad, I thought you meant the robes! πŸ˜…
For Geto's school uniform, I always figured it was his own personal preference. He seems to like loose clothing. (Or at least Gege likes putting him in loose clothing. Probably something to do with keeping his silhouette unique/making it stand out against/beside Gojo's, since Gojo has more straight lines when it comes to his.)
Geto's pants specifically are Tobi trousers, which were becomig popular in Japan (fashion-wise) in the mid-to-late 2000s. (So right around the time Geto was in highschool.) Originally, though, they were common among construction workers and tradesmen because they allowed for easier/larger movement throughout the day. I could actually see Geto prefering clothing like this, given that he's very martial-arts/cqc focused in his fighting style despite his technique being what it is and would need something easy to move/fight in.
You're correct; students can choose to either stick with the default uniform design or to customize it to fit their own preferences upon request. (Like Yuuji's red hood, although Gojo requested that customization for him.)

So agree with your posts about Gojo. Yes, he's not perfect but that what made him what he is. And clearly from that anon ask, the blogger is anti-gojo, and even if it's painful for me, I also agree with that blogger about Gojo's characters.
But it's thanks to you Neon that I understand more about Gojo and Geto's characters and you made me into SatoSugu shipper....All the best wishes for you πŸŒ»πŸŒ·πŸ’
P.s
I'm surprised that BNHA not entered your fav media. (Because at first I know you from your BNHA posts)...
Hello again, friend. πŸŒ»πŸ’›
Buried wayyyy, way at the end of the post, the blogger from before admitted that Gojo has good characterization, that they enjoy it. I think the anti-sentiments at the beginning made it hard to concede when they make good points. So tone likely made the difference there, especially with a character that has inspired real life shrines and heart ache for fans πŸ˜…
In the interest of adding some additional perspective ✨ consider the fact that Gojo, who's been in like... MAYBE a fourth of the overall story (I'm likely being generous here), is marked by such complexity that he can be so polarizing. I find it a little entertaining that he is received in fandom largely as he's received in universe (and sometimes with the same level of misunderstanding). He can be a fan favorite and still shoulder the burden of everyone's criticism or disdain. Meanwhile, in the shadows, Mei Mei is an active child predator and opportunist but I don't see nearly enough slander out there on her. Gojo's flaws aren't unique within the parameter of the story but he'll still be the one to suffer the diatribes.
I talk a lot about how characters should be as messy as real people. Just as jagged, mercurial and evolving. The texture of a rich characterization is what gives fan artists and fanfic writers something to grab onto and gives a character life beyond the source material. So, honestly? All this makes me like him even more. πŸ˜‰ I hope it does the same for you. As always, I'm glad you're here and apologize for the persisting angst of being a SatoSugu shipper hahaha And remember, my words nor anyone else's need to sway how you feel about your faves. Totally fine to consider other viewpoints, especially when trying to find nuance in the story, but what you like is what you like and that's perfectly fine.
Regarding the last ask about favorites, I tend to be a bit capricious when it comes to nailing down faves but I tried to diversify my picks! JJK and BNHA are not the same story by a long shot. Lately, I've been considering some themes or elements that cross over, sure, but aside from occupying similar real estate in my head, the comparison ends there. I only wanted to include one since anyone who's seen my blog can just... tell. ✨ I settled on JJK because I feel like we can somewhat see what the reasonable end might look like for BNHA but I am still regularly thrilled and stumped by what'll happen next in JJK.
Don't worry, anon, the love and brain rot are still there. πŸ§‘πŸ’š

Neon, Neon...Hi, it's me again... So I just remembered this BL titled, "Dark Heaven". It's one of the best BL that I've read until now, and the couple's dynamics remind me of SatoSugu (but kinda in a darker version). Please saw the trigger warning before reading. Most of the story is angst but with a happy ending, don't worry.
Also, do you know what made this story different from any BL, Neon? They're switching, yes there is no exclusive top or bottom. And this is also one of the most realistic BL that I've read until now.....
Hope you'll like them, Neon....
You will not regret reading Simon and Conor's story.....
P.s
Conor really have Geto's vibes and Simon will remind you a bit of Gojo.
Anon, anon! Hello, friend. 🧑
This is literally me whenever someone reads something and thinks to recommend it to me. πŸ‘‡πŸΎ
Tumblr media
Intermittent cackling, optional.
The immediate visual similarity is already just πŸ˜˜πŸ‘ŒπŸΎ but Simon's Gojo-like effervescence on camera? I'm locked in. Not giving anything away in the first chapter but I saw fanart that someone drew of Gojo going out on a date with a woman and asking them to do their hair like Geto's and I'm wondering if they drew some innocent inspiration from reading this.
I'm about to start chapter six and feel like this happy ending will be similar to that of "Red Theatre" by Shigeyoshi Takagi. Peace but at what cost? I don't want to hold your ask hostage in my inbox so I'm posting now but will continue to read as I'm able and reblog when I finish with any additional thoughts. Do anons get notifications when they are reblogged?
Thank you, again, for thinking of me!
