do you mind explaining what you mean wrt the none pizza left beef line in htn?

its the only meme reference in the series that is diegetic. every other meme in the books is tamsyn muir essentially having a little bit of fun sneaking in these 'low-culture' 'frivolous' intertexts using the exact same method she uses to invoke her 'high-culture', 'important' intertexts. when aiglamene says 'you are like a little baby', she doesn't know about memes, she is not refrencing anything, tamsyn muir realized it's a phrase that would fit into her speech patterns and smuggles it in as something she might plausibly just say. john gaius on the other hand is, in that moment, actually directly referencing a tumblr meme that he is the only living person to have seen.

he has been the only person who remembers this joke for millenia-- and the only person who remembers edgar allen poe, and the only person who remembers eminem or aoteaora, because he stole all of human history and culture away from everybody because he wanted control and having access to culture and history that he did not carefully curate and remix and prepare would give people too much autonomy. when he makes it to harrow, he knows she won't get it, it's a joke he's making for himself, a reference to a tiny meaningless part of an entire culture that he singlehandedly destroyed and buried and hoarded away from everybody else in the whole universe.

i think that a lonely genocidal god expressing this one bit of mirth from the world he came from and destroyed, something he's kept to himself to laugh at for thousands of years, is a really great moment of insight into john's character. there is such a huge amount of pathos in it--both in the specific situation of john gaius and more broadly in the idea that one day 'none pizza with left beef' will be a tiny curiosity of a moment of a culture totally lost to time, and that if by some freak chance it is still recorded in a thousand years' time itll be akin to that sumerian joke about a dog walking into a bar, contextless and incomprehensible to us but something that made people from long long ago laugh

As the Olympic Games are officially starting in a week, I decided to finally sketch some of the designs for my Twisted Wonderland Olympics AU! Next up are Riddle, Trey and Cater.

AU summary

This is a magicless AU where all of the TWST characters are Olympic athletes in the real world. Some win medals, some barely qualify — but all of them live in the Olympic village. The students are aged up here (usually early to late twenties) while the faculty members have no set age and work as sports reporters.

♤ Character introductions ♤

ACE TRAPPOLA — A 21-year-old Italian prodigy basketball player. He's considered to be his team's ace (pun intended) and is great at tricking his opponents, making tons of baskets for the Italian team, and efficiently assisting his teammates.

DEUCE SPADE — A 21-year-old Japanese track and field athlete competing in various smaller disciplines falling under the "track and field" term. He's extremely average at most things other than sprints, often ends up in the bottom 3, and is secretly incredibly insecure about not being the best at anything.

ALLEN ALAGONA (YUU) — A 21-year-old Japanese-Italian gold-winning figure skater competing for his current home country, Ireland, along with his best friend and sports partner Alcestris. He gave up on his original dream — becoming a musician — and is now working hard to be the best male figure skater in the world, hoping to kickstart a career as a musician later on.

♤ Relationships ♤

ACE & DEUCE — Their friendship originally started when Ace posted a picture of himself watching a sprint competition while Deuce made a grimace in the background, causing the photo to go viral and become a meme. Deuce originally DMed Ace to take the picture down and got teased for it, but this teasing slowly developed into a friendship. While they get along well, Deuce is secretly a bit jealous of Ace for pretty much being a prodigy.

ACE & ALLEN (YUU) — Ace is a fan of Allen and views him as a fellow gold medalist. Being open-minded and "eager" to make new connections, Ace simply DMed Allen one day and the two became unlikely friends. Nowadays, Ace also functions as a matchmaker, being the only person to know just how much Deuce likes Allen...

DEUCE & ALLEN (YUU) — Deuce knows Allen as the most famous figure skater in the world and is absolutely stunned by both his appearance and humbleness. The two accidentally meet at a coffee shop during the games one day, decide to have a drink together, and strike up a conversation. Deuce is fanboying on the inside and trying to hide his surprise that Allen genuinely recognizes such an average athlete as him. Allen, however, already knows Deuce due to closely following all Japanese competitions, and has also noticed how incredibly ambitious Deuce is. Knowing Deuce's pain of carrying other people's hopes and never being the best at anything all too well from his teen years, Allen wants to get to know him better... and what starts off as mutual admiration and a celebrity crush on Deuce's side develops into full-blown love.

Headcanons

No smut in this one, since I just really wasn’t in the mood but wanted to write this anyways. I’ve been listening to a lot of limp bizkit lately, idk what that says about me though.

You would have met the first time during one of your robberies, he would definitely make some joke about how he thought the cat burglars were in Gotham.

You’d give him the runaround and somehow escape him even with his super speed, which gets on Barry’s nerves since that rarely happens, especially from someone who doesn’t have any meta powers.

He’s never been one to resolve all his issues with violence like other heroes, so he would want to know why you steal and if he can help you out of the situation you are in that is leading you to steal. It becomes flirty pretty quickly, especially when you use some of your flexibility to wrap your legs around his head, or around his waist.

He finds out you mainly steal to give back to the people, like a modern day robin hood. So whilst he appreciates the enthusiasm for what you do, he cant let you rob all the places you want as much as he thinks it’s a noble cause.

At some point your flirting becomes steamier and more real as you learn more about each other, and at some point, you stage thefts just to see him. You don’t even make it out of the place you’ve robbed before he’s there and meeting you.

Neither of you can really say how or when you started dating for real, maybe it was one day Barry was hurt and you took him back to your apartment and patched him up, or that time he had to take your mask off to make sure you didn’t have a concussion.

But one thing lead to another and you both kissed, and your chases became even more of a game, the people of central city soon learned that you didn’t really pose any threat and that the flash would be there soon enough.

It becomes a meme in town that it’s just foreplay for you two, that you both like to play that little game of yours before the flash scoops you up and takes you home. Of course, that part has never been proven, but it’s part of the joke.

Some of the league would be uncomfortable in the beginning with Barry dating you, but when they voice their opinions, he’s quick to point out just how many of them have done the exact same or dated even worse villains.

Bruce decides very smartly to not say a single thing, because he has his own cat based burglar he likes to play tag with across the rooftops.

You are of course good friends with Selina, you both being cat based and with an eye for high quality goods. You also like to share stories of your lovers, you about the flash and her about Batman.

You visit her in Gotham sometimes, and she will come to Central city every now and then, just so you two can hang out, go shopping, commit a couple of thefts. Selina ends up loving Barry and says he’s just right for you, which makes your blonde lover blush.

Barry himself is pretty flexible in my opinion, but you are on a whole other level. You two like to exercise together or do yoga, so when you can pull off the super difficult poses he Is amazed and wants you to teach him.

There’s been multiple times during your games of chase that you have swung around poles and used it to change the direction you were running in, or have caught Barry with your legs whilst still holding onto the pole.

The two of you will never tell anybody, but you have most definitely given Barry a show or two with what you know on the pole, and he is a very enthusiastic viewer.

At some point you two are caught kissing by the public and it becomes like a secret only the people of central city know, but they honestly aren’t surprised at this point.

You end up becoming more of an anti-hero or vigilante, just stealing from the corrupt and only ever going after the normal persons items when you want to play with Flash on slow nights. You give large majority of the money you make back to the public to better the city for those who don’t have much, so you end up having fans too.

You end up meeting the league at some point, having to join during a meeting because they could truly use your expertise. Instead of sitting in the chair they offer you, you sit down in Barry’s lap which he just smiles about, looking almost as red as his suit.

Nightwing and other heroes who rely a lot on gymnastics end up going to you for advice because of how skilled you are, so you become a more permanent part of the league as you train others on how to use gymnastics and their bodies during battle, and in exchange you get some other training yourself.

You never become an official member of the league, because you don’t want too. But they get used to seeing you together with Barry, and they get especially used to you draping yourself all over the speedster like a big lazy cat, which always makes him flush.

Hajun Yeon:

1.♥ Do they seek out love or let it find them? Are they even interested in romance?

Hajun is not the type to seek love, almost having a cynical belief that true love doesn’t exist. Someone always wants something from you, and finding a truly selfless person was like finding a needle in a haystack. He didn’t think he would be so lucky as to find someone who wanted him for him rather than just his name, but thankfully he didn’t dismiss the entire possibility of love thanks to the close bonds he had managed to form.

He’s not interested because he has all the people he needed in his life, and it took too much energy to scrutinize a new person who was interested in him. If he heard about you through the grapevine aka via Allen or Anne, he might be slightly more willing to give you a chance but you’d certainly have to endear yourself to them first.

2. ♥ When they have a crush on someone, how do they let them know?

Hajun would rather set himself on fire than admit to any feelings, so it would be up to you to recognize his odd behavior and call him out on it. He just needed a push, like a solid sign that you returned his feelings and confessing wouldn’t cause him to make a total fool of himself. It’s a relief that you embarrass yourself first, leaving him in a more comfortable position as responding was far easier than opening up the conversation.

3. ♥ Tell us about a time they were rejected.

Hajun regularly sets himself up for failure, almost like he’s rejecting himself before you get the chance to do so. He’s far more likely to turn the tables on you, showing signs of interest but then pulling back like he never actually considered you an option in the first place. It’s hard to tell what he’s actually thinking when you turned him down, hoping he saw it as you understanding that he wasn’t ready for more despite him being the one to reach out. It left him feeling bitter at first but he did quickly realize that you were someone who knew him, at least the parts of him he had been willing to show you, and that he should take a step back before putting you in the awkward position of rejecting someone you very much loved (who wasn’t ready to love you back just yet).

4. ♥ Do they spend a lot of time in the courting stage or attempt to get to first base as fast as possible?

Get comfortable because you’ll be living in the courting stage for awhile. Hajun is not a man who moves quickly, not in matters of the heart, and you’ll be given new challenges daily that test your mettle. He has to know you’ll stick by his side even when he’s at his worst, or at his weakest, a true bond of friendship having to form before he can consider taking another step forward into romantic commitment.

Sexuality Headcanon: I think Norm is technically bisexual. I say technically bc i one: do think he’s mostly into women and two: don’t think he’s really the type to use labels. Just not something that appeals to him personally.

Gender Headcanon: Uncomplicated cis guy. Or at the very least if there’s anything else going on there I don’t think that’s a journey he’s going on anytime soon.

A ship I have with said character: NORMGINGI FOR SURE easily one of my top dialtown ships. I will say I think they’re “dating” per say. I think they have an emotional bond that sort of transcends that? out of all of the datebles Norm and Gingi have the most emotionally intense relationship but also the one that’s least well defined. Also because I think Gingi calling Norm their “boyfriend” would make him die of embarrassment. he’s too old for all of that he had a wife and kids damnit .

A BROTP I have with said character: I think his interactions with Randy are super cute, especially in the dtf segments. His relatively likeable sea urchin with the heart of a champion<3 I really like Mich’s headcanon about Norm building a house near the woodsy outskirts of the funfair and Randy occasional leaving her post to go bother him. I’m so sorry Mr. Allen sir I had the chimp dream again and I don’t think I can be alone right now knowing there are around 2,000 known chimps in the US.

A NOTP I have with said character: I don’t really care for when people ship him with Mr. Dickens but it’s not something I have any kind of active distaste for either. To me it just feels like one of those ships that exists to fill a quota? like back when a lot of people thought norm was super old for some reasons but still wanted to yaoi him with someone they had to go with the old man™️. I could definitely be misinterpreting things though. I’m sure someone could do something interesting with it (i know dogman has mentioned wanting to write a short thing about a hypothetical dynamic between the two of them, which i unironically think would be super interesting to read) I do think the two of them could have a lot to talk about— i just haven’t seen anything shipping wise that’s caught my eye just yet. maybe some day.

General Opinion over said character: I love him sooo muches you don’t understand it’s kinda of embarrassing. 8 — Nicknames? And if so, how did they originate?

Allen calls Deuce either Deucey or Love, while Deuce calls Allen Baby or Babe. The names resulted from Allen asking Deuce if he wanted to use couple nicknames (to which Deuce excitedly agreed), and they settled on these two nicknames. However, they do use other sweet nicknames on occasion.

26 — What would be their theme song?

There are a fair share of songs fitting Deuce and Allen, but I'll go with these select few:

Backstreet Boys — As Long As You Love Me: Allen often feels like a monster and as if he's possessed, but Deuce doesn't care — he loves Allen no matter who he is as long as he loves him.

Kuraiinu & Will Stetson — Electric Angel (cover): Allen and Deuce have managed to light up each other's life and learn a lot of things about themselves through the other. Additionally, Deuce's presence is quite literally helping Allen survive.

Major Lazer, Justin Bieber, Mø — Cold Water: The lyrics are self-explanatory. Allen and Deuce are always there for each other and just want to help the other feel better, even if it means taking risks.

First off, who am I?

I'm Mionn, a TWST-obsessed artist who recently started posting art here and is planning to make a ton of Twisted Wonderland content in the future.

Said content is going to include a fair share of comics and OC content, which is why I came up with this project.

I also have a meme blog, @twistedmionn, and a blog devoted to my Deuce x Allen ship, @spade-of-storms.

I love hosting projects, and I hope this will be enjoyable for everyone who decides to join!

What is the purpose of the project?

connecting with others in the fandom & making friends

sharing your own OCs and discovering the ones of other members

fun shenanigans with canons & OCs

developing OC relationships

I'm planning to make short comics based on this project, so your OC will occasionally appear in them!

there's going to be a Tumblr blog where I reblog content involving the OCs participating in the project (= serves as a "library" for the OCs)

What exactly is going to be done?

I'm going to make occasional short comics involving the OCs from the project, and they might also make cameos in my usual art.

Outside of that, this project is meant for making friends with fellow OC havers or strengthening already existing friendships! You can also build relationships between your OCs and the ones made by other members.

Additionally, we're going to have a Discord server that allows members to freely ramble about TWST and our OCs. If you don't have Discord, that's totally fine as well!

How do I join? What do I have to do?

It's easy! Send me a DM asking me to join the project and submit all the OCs you want to be a part of it. We will work on further important details then!

Anyone who isn't a proshipper/racist/anti-LGBTQ+.

Unless the owners of two OCs decide on making a poly ship, only one OC x canon ship is allowed per canon character.

Whenever he gets a cat slideshow on his fyp now he immediately sends it to you

He doesn't really care for social media platforms, not being a huge fan of electronics (he also just doesn't know how to use them)

Because of that, he doesn't have a TikTok, though he finds it endearing when you show them to him on your phone with a happy expression

Every time he hears one of the adorable little accompanying audios from your side of the couch, he can't help but to smile himself

He doesn't have TikTok, nor an interest in getting it, so you either send him the pictures via message or you show him in person

While he's not particularly a huge fan of cats, preferring dogs significantly more, he doesn't mind you sending or showing him the cute little pictures

He gets a bit confused at the meme ones (like where it shows a newborn kitten with the caption "this is an atom bomb" above it), but that's all memes in general, so he doesn't say anything other than the occasional confused remark

There’s something about you that just strikes him with inspiration. He thinks it has to do with the passion you have for your own hobbies, the way you throw yourself into your ideas, determined to see it through. It might also have to do with the incredible amount of patience you show him as he can be unintentionally insensitive toward the beginning of your relationship, still trying to figure out what’s expected of him and the proper way to treat the person you loved.

Giving really depends on you, but he's not too bad at physical affection. He knows when something is appropriate or not and gets a good sense for the type of things you like, like if you preferred him having an arm around your shoulder or if you'd prefer he held your hand. He's not good with gifts but he does know how to deliver a genuine compliment, even if he sticks his foot in his mouth on occasion.

Quality time. Allen doesn’t need fancy dates or expensive gifts, he’s not high maintenance. Just a night of laying on his bed, holding hands as you listened to music together, would be enough for him. He’s not always the most ‘present’ as he can get stuck inside his head, but just having you nearby even if you weren’t actively speaking to one another had him feeling content.

Allen liked cuddling a lot, or just having you in his lap. It let him be touching you, arms wrapped around your middle and chin resting on your shoulder, while also doing something else at the same time. You were annoyed at first that he couldn’t prioritize you over his lyrics but he does prove he can give you 100 percent of his attention, but when inspiration strikes he’s like a man possessed, and if he can take you with him for the ride… He just considered it doing two things he loved at once.

l used to come here for the captions but lately I’ve been scrolling past the eye candy to find the Q&A’s. (Sorry Tom) I know a lot of thought and effort into the captions.

I purchased the A272 a few years ago and to be honest its not perfect but it gets the job done. I still can’t manage to wear it to bed but it’s comfortable all day. (Currently saving up for a full belt)

We're a middle aged married couple with pre teen children, my wife isn't into my chastity hobby and she doesn’t care to see what device I’m wearing but she respects my kinks. I have to remind people that my husband used to try to get me to try different bdsm kinds of things but none of them were really my thing. I tried a few of them but over the years there were only 2 different things that I found I enjoyed. One of them is keeping him locked and the other is maybe whipping his ass with my riding crop. I don't do that one often because it scares me a little. 😂 But seriously we were married 10 years before he showed me the cages because it took time to find something that interested both of us.

I know a lot of people (mainly men) see our posts and think that this is what they want. But I think what they really want is a partner who plays out their own fantasies. The memes are exciting to a lot of men but they don't show the 99% of our lives that are the same dull married things that everybody does. Groceries, work, volunteering, church, grandchildren, dinners, and all those things are literally our entire week. We get maybe a couple hours of intimate time we squeeze in to all that. @that-tom-allen being locked literally never even comes up in conversation until we have a "date" planned. It's definitely not a week long tease session like some of the men imagine it is.
