- So when they kids both could walk and talk they got them right in

- Char learned a lot to the point where her name was big in the dancing world. To ballroom, ballet, contemporary, hip hop, tap to jazz and ice skating when she had time

- And there for her twin brother, music and sports

- When she was ten years old, her family had moved to france

- 7 years later, they moved back to NY, but there family had a big name to live up too

- But at the same time, she kept herself to who she truly was. She was a loving person who will buy anyone before her own.

- Since then, she loves to give back to people and animals. Will go out to the protest and talk to the people

- Moving back to new york after the summer of her sophomore year. She met up with her old time best friend ‘Max Wolfes’

- The Wolves and The Jeans were very close friends

- Godien Wolfes is the twins' godfather, so Max and The Twin grow up together. The trio

- So when the twin came back to the upper east side, they knew who to go to.

- The first day there, all eyes on them, but CJ went straight to the table up first to call out Max’s name.

Introducing them to the group, and one person couldn't keep - their eyes off of her.

- Then the bell was ringing and max took you in his hands to take

- Later on, the group knew a lot about CJ, but it was more of Fracces things

- They were all on the stares when Monet asked her

“Hey CJ, when going out tonight for a little get together, we knew Frances in. How about you?”

“Sorry guys, but am volunteering and the NYC animal shelter tonight-”

“Wait tonight at 8” Obie asked

“Yes, actionaly” CJ said laughing it off

“Am was actually looking at that the other night, maybe we could go together?”

“Sure why not”

- That night, they got to know each other very well, Yes Obie that she was just like any other new york girl but he was liking her for then he thought

- After that night of feeding food to the animals and cleaning them and more, they became closer

- Obie would do anything to hang out with her

- They sometimes walked to school together and have study “Date”

- At school they would eat together and just become friends

- He would even show up at Max house when he knew she was going to be over there

- Frances help him out as will

- After a long study “date”, Obie asked her on a real date

- They would go out to more events which catch the media's attentions in a good way and bad

- CJ posted pictures of them and events (with obie permission) her fans thought it was cute but Julies and GG fans didn't like it so much

- They were cute couple

- Obie met CJ parents and loved him

- CJ met Obie mom, She said she loves her already

- They would go to big events together

- Obie would take her to different places in NY

- CJ would give him dance lesson and when it came to any of her dance competitions, he would be there sitting next her family with a handful of flowers

- Sometimes they would have study dates at each others house but Obie likes it better over her because it feels more like home

- They did everything together, and it made them seem like they were in love

- Since she was around Obie more, she was around Aki and Audrey and Max more. Frances would be around alot, made the self a little group

- Around new york, Obie invited you and your brother to the Quaint weekend house

- The whole weekend, Obie and CJ shared the same room

- When the twins walked in, everyone was just getting there

- It was a fun and relaxing

- Everyone got along and had fun, Frances was flirting with Luna and Obie had you mostly to himself

- Julien felt some way but wanted him to be happy. But not with you

- CJ helped around the house, had the grow make cookies and spend time together, Obie was falling more and more in love

- And on new year, they were each other new year kiss

- After that, everyone loved them. Obie was happy

- GG would post things on IG

Well Well Well, It looks like there's a new couple in town. @Charlotte Jeans and @Obie Bregaens have been hitting off pretty well. Them out on the town helping others and dogs. Let's see where this goes. Charlotte or should I say CJ is the new girl and all around famous dancers with big money to her money. Lets see if Obie will love Julien or CJ? - Julien was upset that Obie was getting over her and with CJ now

- So she did what she did best, try to break you down

- Julien, Monet ended up finding something and sent it to GG to hurt CJ

- Found out the CJ and Frances are adopted twins

- When GG posted it, It really didn't hurt the twins. Just hated it now that people knew their business more then the should

- Julien didn't like how CJ reacted so she wanted to hurt her more

- But what the found out was not about CJ, but about her twin

- Frances was a Drug addict

- Once GG posted it, know saw the twins for over 3 to 4 weeks

- CJ and Frances were close, not like Grace closes but they were best friends

- Once France was ready to come back to school, So was CJ.

- And CJ had a bad feeling about the group, had a feeling that someone was out for her

Riordanverse characters who never interact in canon, yet I'm convinced they'd be best friends: A compiled list with explanations because I think about this way to often.

1) Georgina (Trials of Apollo) & Harley (Heroes of Olympus & Trials of Apollo)

There are four works in the Georgina & Harley tag on ao3, and all four have been written by me, that's how series I am about this friendship.

Firstly, I headcanon that the reason there's no year rounders during The Sun and The Star is because most of them decided to go to Waystation to attend school. Harley's eight in The Hidden Oracle and has already been at camp for at least a year and a half, minimum (as he's in the Hephaestus Cabin in The Lost Hero, and it's stated that no Hephaestus kid as come to camp in months before Leo), so why else would he all of a sudden not be a year rounder? He's certainly not staying to fight in the wars like some other demigods.

Now, back to Georgie and Harley. They're only a year apart, if that, and the other is probably the first person they've ever met close to their age, which would definitely spark friendship. Secondly, both of them have a sibling-like relationship with Leo (I almost started sobbing when Leo told Harley about how he was the one who helped him find his way back home in The Hidden Oracle, Leo and Harley are such an underrated sibling pair), which will bond them. And three, both are incredibly artistic and love building things. Just imagine Georgie and Harley drawing plans for the Waystation together? Adorable.

2) Kayla Knowles (Percy Jackson & Trials of Apollo) & Sadie Kane (Kane Chronicles)

They'd dye their hair together, chew bubblegum and eat lollypops, complain about their nerdy older brothers, and show off their skills to each other. They'd be an unstoppable duo.

3) Alex Fierro (Magnus Chase) & Lavinia Asimov (Trials of Apollo)

Queer kid with a designated color pallet, a non-common weapon, whom is incredibly artistic? You can't tell whether I'm talking about Alex or Lavinia (hint, it's both)

Match made in Elysium (or Valhalla in Alex's case). Lavinia would show Alex some simple tap steps, and Alex would show off her pottery skills, and teach some to Lavinia. Lavinia thinks Alex's garrote is the coolest thing ever, and Alex keeps petitioning for a manuballista fight in Valhalla. (Odin has not agreed yet, but Alex is not deterred in the slightest).

4) Kayla Knowles, Sadie Kane, Alex Fierro, & Lavinia Asimov

You're not surprised in the slightest, are you? These four make a deadly quartet of died hair, weapons, and bubblegum, and I adore them for it. As for why I did Kayla & Sadie and Lavinia & Alex seperately, it's because I think they'd be closest with their respectively friend pairing, but also they'd make a great friend group. I'm already in love.

5) Hazel Levesque (Heroes of Olympus & Trials of Apollo) & Butch Walker (Heroes of Olympus)

Intimidating son of a non-intimidating goddess and a non-intimidating daughter of an intimidating god. Also, they both adore horses, and I could totally see them hanging out in the Pegasus stables when Hazel's visiting Camp Half-Blood.

6) Nico di Angelo (Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus, Trials of Apollo, & The Sun and the Star) & Blanche (Chalice of the Gods)

The second Child of Hades/Pluto & Child of Iris friendship??? But seriously, these two would be besties. Both only ever dress in monochromatic clothing, and Blanche is literally known for her ghost stories at camp and Nico is the Ghost King? Blanche would beg Nico to help her out with her photography—the Hades Cabin is literally her aesthetic to the tee, and she loves photographing dead things. Nico would summon a skeleton so she could photograph it on dead grass Nico accidently killed.

And if they did joint ghost stories? All I'm saying is they could charge an admission fee and the amphitheatre would still be full. (The effects they can do with Blanche's, well blanching, power, and Nico's shadow manipulating would go insane)

7) Piper McLean (Heroes of Olympus & Trials of Apollo) and Silena Beauregard (Percy Jackson)

They would be that sibling pair at camp, and it's such a horror that we never got to experience it.

Silena would help Piper tap into her more feminine side, and show her that not all femininity is bad—which Piper has a lot of trauma revolving—and I think would help Piper come to terms with her feelings for Jason and her queerness a lot faster than it actually happened, because Silena would help her talk through it instead of bottling it up. (Besides, Silena knows all about crushing on boys and girls *cough* Beckendorf and Clarisse *cough*).

In turn, I think Piper would help Silena with her fighting skills and strength. Yes, Silena has Clarisse, but Clarisse is a hit hard and don't back down fighter, while Piper would be more patient, which is what Silena would need. Also, they both know what it's like to be manipulated and have to make choices about whether or not their friends and family will live or die, and that's a common ground for them both.

8) Nico di Angelo & Mitchell (Heroes of Olympus)

This is solely because of the fic, Gurrlfriend by Erikthonius on ao3. Honestly, if you've read that, you'd understand where I'm coming from. I don't have any other evidence besides that.

Gossip Girl: LITG edition - who is who?

I nominate either Hamish (mostly because it's funny to imagine, I want to see that man in everything), Erikah or Summer for the role as our gossip sneezer

Hi Saga! Thanks for the ask!

Yes, I loooooooove OG Gossip Girl and I have had a thought on it, though many people may not completely agree with my casting. No one is fully, exactly going to fit here but I tried to use the more affluent Islanders to cast it. I do have 'xoxo' in my drafts, but I doubt it'll ever see light of day. I put the other characters under the cut but left Blair and Serena visible. I don't think there's a perfect match for either and if I were to write this, Blair and Serena would both be OCs. Again, I don't think any Islander fully matches any of the GG characters but mostly because they're so ruthless at different times.

Blair Waldorf - Honestly, no one can match Blair. She is her own level and she's amazing, but if I absolutely had to cast her: Lexi. Lexi is so self-conscious and has a bit of low self-esteem. Though hers is her sister, Blair compares herself to Serena.

Serena Van Der Woodsen - Serena is so bubbly and captivates everyone. I would say Chelsea, but Chelsea is so much of a people pleaser that I don't think she would do a lot of the manipulating Serena did. Now it may be because I didn't do a female route in S8 but I could see Claudia being similar to Serena. She's sunshine and everyone loves her, but cross her and she won't let you forget that she could take that crown away from you before you could even comprehend.

Chuck Bass - Oh Chuck. Probably the best and worst lay of your life. Whoever could fit this super rich business guy with Daddy issues? Obviously this one is Hamish.

Dan Humphrey - Sadly, Dan is sneaky and the most manipulative of everyone and because he's a writer that wrote himself into the story...James. I hate it, too. Sorry.

Jenny Humphrey - This one was hard. I'm obviously going by personality here and not by how I have Dan casted so the Islander that fits Jenny the best and may spiral the way she did would be Jen. They both love fashion, a little edgy, have bite.

Nate Archibald - Again, I'm using affluent Islanders that would actually, possibly be apart of the UES (sorry Lewie you're not affluent). Nate is so boring to me and has no personality except for the fact that he's so perfect that he does no wrong and has this like, exceptional moral compass. He's always pushed by his parents to do things he's not really in favor of doing. Hmmm who else has that problem....Tom.

Georgina Sparks - Georgina is a whole ass mood. She's diabolical and is probably the smartest out of all of the UES. If I had to pick someone to be casted as Georgina, it would probably be Hannah. She flips a switch pretty quickly and doesn't seem to mind getting her hands dirty and pissing off that people she previously thought of as friends.

Carter Baizen - Sorry it's Eddie. I don't make the rules lmfao and I am a Carter apologist. I would have loved to see Serena end up with Carter in the end (yes, even over Nate).

Prince Louis - Youcef would so turn around and be a petty bitch. I do think Louis was actually a good guy but Blair played him the fool too many times for him to let that last one slide. Honestly? Justice for Louis because he was actually so good for Blair despite the little fit she pitched when he acted like he was just a driver on that date.

Lily - Oh come on! This one was so fucking easy. It's Juliet. I don't think I need to explain this one.

Rufus - This one was not easy. He talks about waffles a lot, but is also a good dad (okay, not always when it came to Jenny). Since he's really big into music...I don't know. I can't say Rocco, even though the hair is there, you know? Some part of me wants to say Max, but I don't know why. I think it's because I imagine that Max was similar to how Rufus was when he was young.

Eric Van Der Woodsen - I almost forgot Eric!!!!!! But he's just so special, I can't actually pick someone for him. Literally no Islander fits Eric, but I guess we can say Rohan or Tim. I just think Eric is so specific and the issues his character tackles are so important that you'd need an OC for him too.

Vanessa Abrams - In my GG x LITG universe, she doesn't exist. Bye.

Ahh omg, thank you for asking and offering me a distraction right now! I have a couple of face claims for a few characters and then others not quite as much, but I certainly enjoyed seeing what you envisioned! Honestly I don't know how much I described everyone long ago, I try to keep Reader's family vague though so people can imagine what they want for this series.

For Katy, I for some reason have always pictured Nora Lum (Awkwafina I think she goes by?) but with shoulder length hair. Even the voice. It's like exact in my head for some reason when I write her. Oddly enough, I think her character in Marvel's Shang-Chi was also named Katy... Interesting you imagine Katy Perry, I could see that, too! Love that you imagine dark hair because I definitely do too!

For Hudson, honestly that's pretty close to what I imagine him looking like in my head! I would say that's probably who I would pick as a face claim. I have kept him physically vague because he's a family member of Reader's, but as I write him I picture him similar to that!

Omg for Figureroa that is so funny you picture Danny DeVito!! I picture someone like Robert De Niro for some reason, but not quite as old as he currently is now. Someone who looks like a stern CEO type that would certainly hire hitmen to kill you...

Very interesting choice for Backman! For some reason I always pictured Ramón Rodríguez who plays Bakuto in Iron Fist and Defenders (one of the Hand members). I just pictured him as a well dressed middle aged man who doesn't seem like someone who would kill you, but he definitely would kill you. Slowly.

For Jessica Manning (who is reappearing again quite soon), I envision something like Megan Fox. Dark hair and bright blue eyes. Someone who can look sweet but could also be a total dick (nothing against the actress, but she could totally pull off a bitch role, you know?). That's probably the closest I can think of to her off the top of my head.

We got new Books of the Month (and a book I forgot to mention for recs)! And yeah I haven’t read them yet but I got their plots down and thought they might be right up your alley.

The Death of Jane Lawrence by Caitlin Starling. Jane Lawrence determines that the best way to get ahead in life is to secure a marriage. She does manage to get one with a surgeon, but only with the promise that she should never visit his family home. So of course she does. And what she finds is her new husband, no longer certain and sound of mind, but instead a paranoid, delusional wreck of a man.

Crossings by Alex Landragin. I think this is the guy’s debut novel. If it is, holy crap, what a way to start because this book is all over the place. A man suspects that a mysterious manuscript he had acquired may hold the key to a murder he is somewhat connected to. Instead, what he finds are three bizarre stories: One supposedly ghostwritten by Charles Baudelaire for an illiterate girl; another, a noir romance supposedly written by exiled German-Jewish philosopher; and the final is a memoir of a woman who claims to have lived multiple incarnations for the sole purpose of finding a lost love.

The Woman Outside My Door by Rachel Ryan. Not long after the passing of his grandmother, a little boy begins talking about a new friend he made at the park: “New Granny”. His dad thinks it’s just the usual imaginary friend situation, with the boy using his imagination to cope with the loss. But his mother, Georgina, feels differently. Call it maternal instinct, call it the fact that imaginary friends are kinda creepy when you think about it: Something here is…off…

A History of the World in 6 Glasses by Tom Standage. It’s nonfiction but like?? I’m a nerd for odd ways of learning, so this intrigued me. But this book focuses on, as you can tell, six main drinks: Beer, wine, spirits, coffee, tea, and Coca Cola. Each is something you are familiar with. Each represents a benchmark in human history, with its societal changes, its industrial advancements, and what civilization valued most.

The Grimrose Girls by Laura Pohl. Four girls attending a boarding school are still reeling from the sudden death of the fifth member of their group. But with the arrival of their mew roommate, things start to take a bizarre and dark turn, with happenings that bring them to a dark truth: Their friend isn’t the first girl to die here. And if they don’t figure something out soon, she won’t be the last. Because what they uncover is a history of particularly odd murders: To be more precise, murders that connect to curses born from fairytales.

I already have a crapton of books to catch up on so I have to TRY and not buy these but it’s gonna be a hard try, at least for me. Hope some of these spark your interest!

Thinking of the gg reveal makes me feel kind of bad. Because it twists all of Dan’s actions and the kind of person he was throughout the whole show. So basically anything genuine he’s ever said or done doesn’t matter because he was secretly running a stalker blog that terrorized his friends, and it seems that he was just a total fake the whole time. Kinda sucks that everything about who he was is completely flipped all because of a last minute decision.

YEAH i've seen people who have watched gg knowing the reveal, and therefore, from the very beginning, have a certain idea of who dan is and view him through that lens? & if you're looking for confirmation of a thing, you will find it if you look hard enough and you're determined enough. like if you go in thinking "dan is the bad guy and i hate him" and you feel strongly enough about it, you probably won't change your mind. (not you, dear anon, but like. the hypothetical viewer.)

i absolutely agree, and i feel kinda bad for penn badgley, too. imagine playing a character for SIX years, and then in your final episode playing him they're like "well actually you were evil all along!" i still remember him mentioning in an interview (in interviews?) that he didn't know that dan was supposedly gossip girl until they were shooting that episode.

but yeah, it does absolutely twist all of dan's actions, and turn him into this person who is using the site to stalk people, harass people, ruin the lives of everyone around him AND himself, and whatnot. when you think about what they were trying to do with dan actively in the earlier seasons, having him be a relatable character, because he's an outsider and the unpopular kid who nobody knows... the point was that as a viewer who's maybe had those experiences of being lonely, of feeling like you don't belong, you look at dan and you go "oh my god, same bro" & that's what the show was actively trying to do?

& dan as a character is so interesting to me. they didn't need to make him gossip girl to make him morally grey, because he kind of already was. i love dan, and i think he has a lot of great attributes, but he's also a very "the ends justify the means" kind of person, which is how you get him being judgemental of someone like nate or serena, while simultaneously being besties with georgina sparks, despite everything. there was an already existing ambiguity to his character which they could've played around with, if they really wanted to make him evil, as opposed to making him cartoonishly, exaggeratedly, suddenly super terrible and being like "sike! he was like this all along!"

no, he wasn't. we watched the show, lmao. you're not fooling us.

Before Serena decided to start over, you two were the dynamic, devilish duo everyone loved and loved to hate. You scammed, you schemed, you overindulged and lied until your heart was content (although, it never was). What happened to the Georgina who sent outrageous gifts at inappropriate times, had a plethora of aliases and always took the roads that lead straight to hell? I can’t believe that you’ve changed. Aren’t you bored? Aren’t you bitter? If it takes me to stir up the real GiGi we all knew and, well, knew then so be it. Oh, I just can’t wait to catch up.

A Little Extra

Georgina Sparks was the Upper East Side’s most notorious troublemaker. There was no one she hadn’t wronged in some way or another and that’s just how she liked it. She’s always been a little volatile, quick to anger and truth be told, easily hurt. She’s never known how to deal with rejection or a broken heart even though she’s dished both out to others on a daily basis. You might be wondering who in the world managed to break Georgina’s heart? The answer, of course, is Serena van der Woodsen. GiGi has always been selfish and brash, rarely thinking of others but not when it came to Serena. She was an awful, terrible influence on her and always got them into explosive situations. She wasn’t good for Serena. But she did love her. All of Georgina’s emotions are big- huge, all consuming- including how much she cared about Serena, how much her world revolved around Serena. Then things went too far (too many drugs, too many unforgivable decisions) and Serena called it quits, severing ties with Georgina and worst of all, leaving her behind. It was the worst she’d ever felt in her life. Of course her parents tried to control her, reign in her behaviour, ship her off to another boarding school but it didn’t take. When she exploded back onto the Upper East Side, she wanted to hurt Serena just like Serena had hurt her. No wait, she wanted Serena to love her just like Georgina loved her. Wait--- It was complicated. Georgina made enemies fast, pulled whoever she could into her downward spiral but somehow managed to come out of the other side of her more destructive feelings. The original Gossip Girl takedown seemed like a way to reconnect with Serena, with the whole NJBC and the would be friends she’d had in New York. She could play the good guy for a change. After a while, it stuck. She was granted some forgiveness and she really has been trying now to be better. Nicer (somewhat). A new Georgina Sparks. Right?

What Does Gossip Girl Have On Them?

Georgina was a part of the original takedown and couldn’t be scared off by Gossip Girl. She’s done a lot of things but whatever, right? But things are different now. She’s managed to build a new life for herself and if things from her past were to come out now... Yikes. Gossip Girl knows the petty schemes Georgina did against most of her now-friends and worse.

Connections

Serena van der Woodsen - her former partner in crime, closest and most favourite person. Doesn’t pine over her anymore (sure) and they’re in a better place (mostly). Would still do anything for Serena van der Woodsen.

Blair Waldorf - absolute enemy or absolute frenemy? Who’s to say.

Chuck Bass - when the worst of Chuck and the worst of Georgina get together? The world burns just a little. They’re complicated too.

Camille Hunter - always end up hooking up whenever they see each other again. C’est la vie. 

Olivia Prescott - GiGi did a lot of petty and mean things to Liv when they were at Constance, most she doesn’t even know about. Things are different now though, she really likes Olivia.

would love to know the tea vera! what are the sbg ships you can’t see working?

hey lauren! ahahaha so this is Highly Subjective Personal Opinions time, disclaimer first i don’t actually care if other people ship these sbg ships it’s just that in my mind and the elaborate headcanon universe i constructed they don’t work. but like we get so few canon details about them it’s easy for people to have different interpretation for these characters so it made sense some people might decide these pairings work in their headcanons.

first there are some characters i always read as lesbians or gays, and while most of these are arguably at most implied canon and not exactly what i’d call representation, ive always view them this way in my mind and it’s very hard to change now. such as, i see r as a lesbian and i can’t see her with any men, i see ernest as gay and i can’t really see him with any women. i also see jacques as gay but i have been known to make exceptions to read very good fics that paired him with a women, but only within the universe of that fic and i don’t really ship it outside the context of the fic (it was actually one of your earlier fics of jacques/esme i’m referring to sjdjjssj) (speaking of jacques, i also read book!jerome as closeted gay instead of bi and he just thought esme fit the expectations of women his family expected him to marry)

and then there are just some i can’t see their dynamics working, such as beatrice/olaf for example. i tend to view them as best friend to worst enemies, a lot of history and codependency there but it’s all platonic. they’re like pseudo siblings in a way. also tbh i think shipping them is so ... boring, like it makes their dynamics much less interesting in a sense to just interpret it thru the lense of romance. plus, there are enough arcs of vengeance based on failed m/f romance i do not care for more, it’s so ... boring. i just Do Not Care For It. (if it’s gay they it’s a different matter, beasme for the win am i right or am i right)

i also don’t see georgina/beatrice, i think I’ve said before but they lack the spark. there’s mutual dislike but not rivalry- the rivalry is at best one sided imo with heavy disinterest on georgina’s part, unlike the heated passion of beatrice/esme. esme’s hate for beatrice is like the thin line between love and hate thing, with heavy sexual tension, while georgina just doesn’t care for beatrice enough to hate her that much. she just dislikes her much like she dislikes most people, if finding her slightly more annoying than most, but georgina also find people in general annoying so that’s not saying much. (now georgina/kit i can see ... it’s cutting in from the stem women in vfd aspect and begrudging mutual respect of competence and casual flirting to Prove Something to Certain Actresses)

i also don’t see kit/bertrand but that’s just because i have too many headcanons and written too many fics about their friendships now i can’t ever see otherwise, and their friendship is just, v important to me. (also she gave him the ring to propose to beatrice... much like r gave the ring to lemony to propose to beatrice and r and lemony were also really good friends .... im a sucker for friendship parallels.)

i can’t see jacques/ernest but this one is a bit hard to explain why it’s mostly a vibe thing, if i had to pinpoint i’d say jacques is too deeply in vfd / too loyal to vfd to interest ernest, and also too deep in vfd to have an interest in ernest, someone on the other side, potential double agent he might be (and tbh the double agent part is debatable). like, he’s fine being civil to him out of respect to frank but he’s not interested. but also i think it has something to do with the vibes i imagine them because i have been thinking a lot about the “jacques swap sides AU” in which vfd murdered jerome for his fortune (by having beatrice marry him first and then widowing him) and causing jacques to switch sides due to grief and he and ernest became friends, and even in this AU where they are on the same side i can’t really see them together romantically but i can’t explain why to myself, maybe my version of ernest is romantically allergic to eldest sibling (only child doesn’t count, ofc) , i’ll need to reflect on that more sjdjjdjd

oh also i dislike Netflix!georgina/olaf because i don’t like how they make georgina so, affected by olaf tbh. book georgina and olaf were never involved and i like that.

If u could cast the Riverdale actors in GG who would you have playing each character

i want to spice things up because this cast is so diverse and beautiful, it would be a tragedy to use the whites only, so:

ashleigh murray as blair waldorf (ashleigh is beautiful, has that aristocrat touch, she could play the iconic queen b for sure).

jordan calloway as chuck bass (one hot man playing yet another chuck, but ofc we’d have a better chuck here. i am thinking about the actual GG canon so him and ash would be the superior chair for sure).

brown-haired kj apa as nate archibald (because he’s my favorite character and kj is my favorite young actor in riverdale, he looks very good and nate-ish to me).

camila mendes as serena vdw (listen, i’m a varchie and a serenate shipper and this is purely for my viewing pleasure so-- she also has good chemistry with ash and that’s about it)

not-so-buffy drew tanner as eric vdw (they’d look great as siblings, period)

blond cole sprouse as dan humphrey (i’m not sure how well cole and ash could work together but maybe they could... i just cannot imagine anyone else playing dan tbh lol and you know he has enough chemistry with cami too to make this work)

natural blonde lili reinhart as jenny humphrey (well sorry sprousehart for playing brother and sister in this, but you’re both blonde and fit this role well and i’d like to see it)

hailey law as vanessa abrams (she just seems fitting for the role)

charles melton as carter baizen (pleaaaase, the hottest kid around, my main triangle carter/serena/nate would make me happy, and that’s what we’re trying to achieve, my happiness)

1x15 - Desperately Seeking Serena

Here we are with a new recap this week. Believe it or not I’m still aiming to do at least two of these per week. So far I’m not there yet, but oh I wish, I’m going way too slow. Anyway here we go, as usual recap’s under the cut.

Thoughts I had while watching the episode:

A rare ocassion when we see these kids actually worried about school.

I love that Blair’s revising with Dorota.

Chuck being Chuck so he will outsource, I’m pretty sure if he actually tried he wouldn’t be half bad with these kind of stuff, but why would he bother.

Aww Dan cried whenever his dad didn’t walked him too school. He had a nice a dad, and yet...

These one of those times I wish I was american just to get the real scope of the SATS, also was that little thing Blair’s using?

Honestly it never made sense to me why there was only once spot in Yale for Constance, like isn’t this suposed to be the kind of school that like to promote that their students are really likely to get entrance to an Ivy? 

Blair is right somehow one must always say her name in full: Nelly Yuki

Perfomance anxiety? You ain’t wrong, and sadly that’s something you’ll get to know eventually about Dan Humphrey

I normally like when Chuck and Blair’s outfits matched but the colours of these coats are really obnoxious.

Those glares, there’s a short road from hate to love, just saying. Also if only Serena knew that figuring their issues out is going to take quite some time. About 5 years.

Funny that Elise points out to Jenny about Queen Elizabeth didn’t had a King, and a year later Blair’s going to tell her the same. Nice bit.

Of course Nelly Yuki has to be asian. 

So this was the way Serena was pre boarding school, as much as Georgina is obviously a bad infuence I’m glad we god a snipet of it.

I wonder if Chuck was always Serena’s choice when she needed help with Georgina, because it seems in some ways like this isn’t the first time, and he gets it.

This is the part of S1 when Dan really starts to get on my nerves, because sure Serena is lying to him but he has a way of questioning her that sounds a tad desperate in not a good way. And it’s all so centered around him, he leaves her there like... I can’t deal with this right now? 

Getting dumped at a Flor Rida concert, I guess I would have reacted the same as Nelly Yuki.

Not gonna lie, I’m not a fan of this plot that has Jenny wanting to date a dude just for his money, she’s like 15 and it’s just sad.

Nate and Vanessa, a couple I actually didn’t mind, and I always felt Vanessa was at her less judgmental self when she dated Nate. 

Not the right choice Serena. And yet in a weird way it’s make sense. It ain’t easy to let the past go.

The sound of your own voice distracting you? thanks Jenny for pointing it out, I swear that Dan’s in love with the sound of his own voice.

“Like I want to believe in myself” having Serena say this about the way Dan’s look at her, says a lot about their relationship.

So Serena thinks Georgina knew the old her better than anyone.. mmm interesting.

As much as I like Rufus and think he really tried his best, and overall was a good Dad, he never had any idea of how to handle Jenny. Half the time he only makes it worst.

How nice it was for Nate to convince Vanessa to take the SAT.

Those batteries are not from that calculater, I think I actually had that calculator at one point in my life.

Even though i feel her relationship with Nate was doomed, is never easy to see your ex-moving on.

What’s going on with Chuck’s outfit? Yellow pants, purple sweater, multicolor shirt, it’s so bad and yet I don’t hate it.

For some reason, there’s something about the way Dan’s holding Serena’s face and the way he talks to her, that creeps me out for no good reason. 

So Georgina has something on Serena, and even Chuck’s curious. The good old days when everything was a mistery.

This is the point were Dan’s double identy gets really disturbing. Hi Sarah, meet Dan, we don’t know it yet but he’s as messed up as you.

So this episode, is not a fave in the general sense, because it’s basically just the introduction to Georgina’s character but on that front these is just setting up the stage for the big climax, and all the other subplots here are pretty meh, with Blair’s and Jenny’s battle from the throne in a very dull point. The real interesting part in this episode is that we get more insight into Serena.

it’s been established since the pilot that Serena has a wild passed, an so far her story centers about being this bad girl turned good girl. She has this change of heart because when she ran away after a particularly bad night, her absence is one of the reasons her little brother ends up atempting suicide, she’s also really guilty that her drunken antincs led her to betray her best friend and she doesn’t want to be that way, as much as the show likes to make it seem Serena changed her wild ways when she started dating Dan, that’s not the case. I think the biggest wake up call for her was what happened with Eric.

Dan is a positive influence, and he gives her the respect and positive attention that sadly was lacking in pretty much every interaction she had withe the opposite sex, as I mentioned in a previous recap Serena believes that thinks of her as real human being, he likes her for real reasons, not only because she’s hot or an “It girl”; she believes this because he meets her when she comes back and was not the same girl as before, so in a way he fell for the “good Serena” and so it’s one of the reasons she keeps up trying  her best. 

As we see this episode Dan falling in love with this version of Serena is a double edged sword, because it leaves little room for her to be anything else; he’s make it no secret that he detests her world, and he walked away in anger on their second date when he discovered something of her past he didn’t like, he’s constantly judging her almost all the time, sometimes in a lowkey way, but other’s he’s very straight forward about it. By this point in the series Serena feels really in love with him, and as she says to Georgina the way he feels about her makes her want to believe in herself, so she can’t lose Dan’s love, and she knows how’s he’s going to react if she tells him about her past with Georgina, and therefore she must lie to him. 

This makes me feel really bad for Serena for so many reasons, because how shitty things must have been in the past for her to believe this is the kind of love she deserves, sure it’s her first love and she’s sixteen and sees him in rose tinted glassses, but when one stops to think about is a relationship where she can’t be honest, like if lying is your best option to keep your relationship on good terms that’s a sign that’s something no good, and it’s not like the true would be something like “Hey Dan guess what, I’ve been doing this “bad” thing behind your back all the time we’ve been dating”, no she’s afraid of letting him know her past, something that’s not her anymore... imagine if people couldn’t change, or have a past that they wished were different.  It’s just wrong, but she can’t see it because his love is something she never had and it’s precious and she hasn’t experienced anything better.

There’s also a very interesting line in the middle of the episode related to this, she tells Georgina that no one knew her old self as Georgina did, and this interesting because Serena’s not only trying to hide Georgina from Dan, she’s also hiding her from Lily and Blair, because to Serena Georgina represents the worst side of her, and that’s something she can’t let them see, because I guess she’s really afraid they may changed her mind about her, or even worse love her. This is why I also feel she turns to Chuck in this episode, in part because I feel in her wild days they somewhat tend to hang out with the same type of crowd, I image they often found themselves in the same parties doing drugs and wild stuff,so he already knows more about her worst side, but mostly I feel she calls him because she doesn’t care about what Chuck thinks of her, she knows he cares somewhat, but she’s not as important to him, not in the way Serena and Blair care about each other, and so Serena deep inside of her fears that if they knew, really knew they would love her less. This is somewhat a paralell to the way Chuck’s sees himself, so having him helping her with this, only reinforces this for me. 

Georgina’s presence this episode beside the fact that’s she’s a really messed up person (like honestly how awful it is she evens drugs Serena this episode) and letting us know that she has something on Serena, what I really find interesting is that she brings to light that there’s a part of Serena that’s missing. She’s been stiffling some part of her personality, their first outing sure they’re drunk but for the most part is harmless, they’re just joking around and fooling clueless idiots dudes, Serena only gets mad when drugs are involved. Serena likes to party, to be a bit wild, to be free, and it’s something that’s been lacking, and instead of learning healthier ways to let this part of her shine, to figure out that one can party and be free as long as it doesn’t get’s out of control, she totally shuts down that part of her, and that’s why it takes Georgina so little effort to convince of spending some time together. Even if she doesn’t want to realize it, she misses it.
