I have to get this off my chest.... Taylor NEEDS to be speaking out more. The silence is loud and defining. There are so many other celebrities of a similar levels speaking out. Halsey, Harry Styles, Timothee Chalamet, and Cole Sprouse attending protest. Her friends like Selena Gomez, Shawn Mendes (through his foundation), Blake Lively, and Jack Antonoff have been posting links and trying to educate people. Lizzo is going to be hosting a live stream tomorrow to talk Black Vision Collective. Taylor has 134 MILLION followers. People of all ages and backgrounds follow her and listen to what she says. Doing a bare minimum is not enough in this situation. She has the platform she needs to use it. We all know she’s not politically shy. Posting a story that will go away in 24hrs isn’t cutting it. Changing her profile picture and posting a black square is not enough. She has black fans that deserve to know that she has their backs. That she respects what they go through on a daily basises. She can use the privilege she has to do some good. She could most more donation links, interview black organizations, provide links to black entrepreneurs and business, or create a playlist celebrating black artist. Taylor is underestimating her own power. I’m not trying to drag her I want her to do better. If you have the platform why don’t you use it for good?
