George Hearn. The most perfect Sweeney Todd I have ever fucking seen.

His singing is perfect, he plays the exact amount of unhinged and sorrowful that Sweeney Todd is supposed to have. His screaming of triumph and pure venom when he kills Judge Turpin? Best version of that scene I've ever seen. Finding out who the beggar woman is and screaming bloody murder (ha) and sobbing?! **Mwah** chef's kiss.

Of course this is just my opinion but I truly believe he's the best. Though I do enjoy Michael Ball's and Josh Groban's!

i watched george hearn/angela lansbury proshot with my best friend last night — HOLY SHIT??? we were both a puddle of tears by the end. he is absolutely beautiful. oh my god. he wasn’t afraid to get very real and ugly and emotional with it. AMAZING. his sweeney was so human and so hurt and so self loathing. I LOVED IT.

I'm so glad that the 2023 production of Sweeney Todd has both rekindled and sparked a lot of people's love for Sweeney Todd 😊

I love seeing how each actor interprets Sweeney's character. George Hearn's portrayal of Sweeney from the 1982 stage recording will probably always be my favourite because of how you can also see the Benjamin Barker in his performance. That, and his delivery of "AT LAST, MY ARM IS COMPLETE AGAIN!" is unparalleled. Chills, every time.
