"Luckily, I found myself sitting next to John Lennon, an attractive, eloquent and reserved young man. Lennon, who looks much better in real life than he does in photographs, leaned over and answered such nonsense with ease and politeness:
Q: "What's your favourite gift that you've received personally?" John Lennon: "A fan in Liverpool sent me forty cats... Not real cats, you know, toys, little souvenirs. I think that's my favourite gift." — Donald Warman at pre-conference of The Beatles in Las Vegas, August 20, 1964.

What I wouldn't do to see flying Beatles.
The Beatles performed at a special midnight show called “The Night of a Hundred Stars” at the London Palladium on July 23, 1964. The show included a "flying ballet" sketch where the band members were raised above the stage on wires.

With a gift from a fan; photo by Express/Getty Images.
On August 28, 1964, at the Delmonico Hotel in NYC… “That [August 28, 1964] was an amazing night and I woke up the next day thinking: What was that? Something happened last night. I felt really good. That was a hell of a night.” - George Harrison, It was twenty years ago today “The day Bob Dylan really turned us on was the day we heard his album, The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan. Right from that moment we recognized some vital energy, a voice crying out somewhere, toiling in the darkness. When we actually met him in ‘64 it had a certain effect on us, but I think the seed was already sown by the album.” - George Harrison, ibid “The first time I took it I got very high indeed. It was quite a breakthrough, it was something different. George Harrison, John and I were sitting in the main room of the suite, the lounge, drinking. We were sitting there with our Scotch and Cokes, and Dylan had just given Ringo a puff of it. Ringo came back in and we said, ‘How is it?’ He said, ‘The ceiling’s coming down on me.’ And we went, Wow! Leaped up, ‘God! Got to do this!’ So we ran into the back roomfirst John, then me and George, then Brian. We all had a puff and for about five minutes we went, ‘This isn’t doing anything,’ so we kept having more. ‘Sssshhhh! This isn't doing anything. Are you feeling … ggggzzzzz!’ and we started giggling uncontrollably. And it was very very funny and my, it was. It was! The Beatles were about humor, we had a great humor between us. There was an 'in' side to the track of humor that we would use as a protective thing, so with this on top of it, things were really hilarious. I remember walking round the suite, trying to get away from it all, closing the door behind me without realizing George Harrison had walked step by step with me, so I thought I'd lost him, turned around, and he's in the room with me. ‘Ohhh! This is hilarious. I can't handle it!’ It was like the funniest bloody dream going.” - Paul McCartney, Many Years From Now (x)

A Mclennon silent movie
September 1964 Atlantic City
Highlights:
Paul pulling a prank on John with the chair
Ringo almost sitting on George
George dilligently answering questions while his parents are flirting
The under the table naughty payback, there's something evil when John looked directly into the camera. You can totally see John licking his mouth in satisfaction, must've been one hell of an inner thigh squeeze
That "ey" from Paul
Princess Paulie twirling his hair and being his beautiful self
