what’s donald and andy’s dynamic like now (as compared to donald’s hesitance to trust him with cecil when andy was first brought on)?

once andy proves that a) he cares about cecil and b) he can do his job well, donald’s distrust sort of just… dissipates. it turns into concern for andy (which was there before but mixed with that hesitance), really, because he’s a bit too young to be seeing all the stuff that cecil sees (andy’s about 14 when he’s first hired… it’s very complicated). but andy is like every other gamer dude his age — terribly desensitized.

i also love the idea that donald is a secret fashionista, because that motherfucker always looks clean as hell. him and thragg probably share a barber. once he and andy get over the hurdle of how to talk to each other (they’re both kind of awkward), andy texts him photos of different clothing for advice. donald reacts with thumbs-up or thumbs-down and nothing else.

andy also thinks donald is cool as hell (but then again, he thinks everyone at the GDA is cool as hell).

another thing to add is that donald and andy are both heroic types. like… “i’d take any amount of shit if it meant people would be okay” heroic types.

all jokes aside, they’re pretty good friends once it comes down to it, bound by their devotion to the job and their secondary love for pasta. donald’s been known to relay information to andy about cecil’s well-being, so they double-team the guy until cecil admits there’s something wrong.

if donald had the time, he’d play dti with andy. that’s all. thank you for the ask :)
