it's hard to keep track of time when you're underwater. even more so when you're the duke of an underwater fortress handling prisoners and case files on a day-to-day basis. so here you are, bringing a freshly brewed cup of black tea to his office, in an attempt to make wriothesley's day a little better and gauge him to come out of his lair so you can spend time together to stroll the streets of the city of fontaine.

when you opened the door to greet him you were met with his puzzled expression. he was admiring investigating the numerous stickers that found their way on his mechanical gauntlet. smiling to yourself, you figured it was the melusines' work again. not that he already knew.

but still, you figured there was something endearing about it. is it the pastel colors? is it the cute wolf shaped stickers or the heart ones? nevertheless, you thought it would always be a cute occurrence ー how your boyfriend would sigh in exasperation every time he gets pranked by such sweet creatures.

"you think it's sigewinne's doing again?" you laughed, placing the cup of tea on his desk.

"hmph. you bet." he sighed, laughing with you as well.

you made your way towards the back of his chair. leaning down, you pressed a sweet kiss on his cheek, stealing one of his stickers to place on him after.

"you…" he sighed again, melting into your touch in defeat.

"enjoy your tea. i brewed it just the way you like." you kissed him on the lips, your faces flush with the warmth of your shared love.

"let's go out." you suggested, seating yourself on his lap.

"where to, sweetheart?" he replied slyly, taking a sip from his teacup.

"you're the birthday boy, so you decide." you hummed.

you snuggled on the crook of his neck, breathing his scent ー that of mint and musk. he caresses the small of your back. you stayed like that for a while. he enjoyed the tea you made for him. and you enjoyed his gentle, loving touch.

he suggested that you both go to the coupon cafeteria after finishing his tea, maybe you'd find a surprise waiting for you there. as you exchanged idle chatter on the way, you didn't realize that you've arrived when sigewinne popped a confetti canon and the other melusines presented him a buttercream decorated cake with a grey emblem of his wolf sigil.

they happily sang him a birthday song. you watched his expression soften at the sight, which made you happy too.

"ah, i wonder if your siblings remember. i wonder what they-"

"let's not think of the past right now." he smiled at you. for a moment, you swore you caught a tinge of sadness in his gaze. so you didn't speak about it any further.

after the birthday celebration, the two of you went for a group hug with the melusines, and that's the moment you asked him about going to the city of fontaine.

"well, aren't you giddy?" he laughed.

"come on! you haven't been outside of this place for a while."

"are you saying that i'm a recluse?"

"what? no. i know that you're busy. it's just that ー don't you want a change of scenery on your special day?"

wriothesley gave in to your pleas. not that he didn't enjoy being outside. it's more of the fact that he knows it's a time well spent when it's with you.

after all, you're his roman holiday. his sweetheart. his beloved.

i have been thinking non stop about self aware genshin. like i listen to loud music while farming so just like all they hear is my metal versions or songs like unholy or barbie girl while i fight a boss.

or i will be on ft with my bestie while farming also so they'll hear our random conversations, example "worms aren't brown" "they eat dirt!" "they're a peach-ish kinda skin color" "no they aren't! they're brown because they eat dirt, stop questioning me on this!" "whatever you say wifu." "good... *five seconds later* snake man died..." About the Machines of Khaenri'ah and how they Replicated Living Beings of the Outside World (TL;DR)

To date, I still wonder how Khaenri'ah managed to replicate the physical form and mobility of living beings from Teyvat.

As we know Khaenri'ah didn't have flora nor fauna; so from where they obtained knowledge about other beings outside their nation?

I think there are three hypotheses to this question; I'll go from the one that makes less sense, to the one that makes more sense.

(1) Khaenri'ah had access to Irminsul/ley lines that let them obtain knowledge through it.

We know that Khaenri'ah had no deity (nor they wanted to have one as far as we know), and to date, the only beings we know that have the ability to access Irminsul, are Nahida, and Wanderer.

It seems that the Hexenzirkel was able to make expeditions to Irminsul, probably meaning that they also had access to it.

But there's one exception...the Bough Keeper.

A human with the title of Bough Keeper, a Khaenri'ahn citizen that has retained self-awareness since the destruction of his nation 500 years ago. Technically, he should have lost his self-awareness to date, right? Yet he didn't, and we might have some idea of why this could be.

When Dainsleif met Halfdan in The Chasm, he didn't understand how his fellow comrade still didn't lose his self-awareness without "it"...

Could that "it" be this?

One of the items obtained by defeating Abyss Mages, it's basically a fragment of ley lines. If Dainsleif is in possession of one of these, then maybe the people of Khaenri'ah were also able to use these to learn about the outside world without the necessity of a deity.

Leaving this hypothesis behind, let's start with the next one.

(2) Flora & fauna did exist in Khaenri'ah but became extinct by them

This hypothesis follows something of the actual world we live in.

Some animals have become extinct because of our careless and accelerated expansion; and maybe this also happened to Khaenri'ah, as they were considered a proud & arrogant nation by some.

When their flora & fauna became extinct, they started to use the Art of Khemia to replicate what they used to have, and because they used to have it, they already knew what their flora & fauna used to look like.

Maybe they had art descriptions of them or perhaps they even had actual recordings thanks to their advanced technology. To be honest, I think that this hypothesis is not likely to be true, for these reasons: there are some beings that are very unlikely that used to be in Khaenri'ah.

One example is the Setekh Wenut & the Ruin Serpent which look very alike to it. The Setekh Wenut seems to be from a long time ago because the description of its drop item shows that the Setekh Wenut existed long before time even existed.

This is the drop item: Pseudo-Stamens.

Hypostasis also are also kinda likely to not have been in Khaenri'ah as far as we know, yet these people still managed to replicate a machine like them: the Perpetual Mechanical Array.

Going to the next & last hypothesis...

(3) Khaenri'ah sent people to Teyvat to learn more about the living beings there.

In the book Sun & Moon we were taught that while Khaenri'ah still existed, they sent people to Enkanomiya to get the book.

It seems that when these people of Khaenri'ah were sent to Enkanomiya, they also bring all kinds of ruin machines with them This could mean that Khaenri'ah had the resources and capacity to travel to other parts of Teyvat.

Maybe non of these hypotheses are accurate, but I really hope they are near to the truth we still yet need to know.

-Another "I'm not mad just disappointed" kind. Like honestly, he is a bit furious. He considered your relationship to be held to the same degree as his contracts.

-Very quickly removes himself from any involvement with you. He doesn't avoid you but he makes it apparent to keep all conversations short and to the point.

-He is reluctant to part with gifts from you so he just locks them in a chest somewhere he might look when he has free time.

-He needs a lot of time to himself to sort out the pain he is feeling. However, he doesn't mull over it for too long. Zhongli recognizes that the relationship wouldn't work no matter what happened.

-Probably the most reasonable in this case. He doesn't think he did anything wrong in the relationship.

Baizhu

-He probably predicted it and wanted you to confess to him first.

-He keeps calm and asks for why you did it. It's really to find out if he did anything to lead up to it.

-Depending on your answer, he mayor may not come to dislike you.

-Again, depending on your answer he may or may not keep you as a friend.

-Honestly, the easiest to maintain a relationship with depending on why you cheated in the first place.

Chongyun

-Broken up inside, but maintains a calm demeanor. He just looks shocked.

-First thing he is gonna ask is "why?"

-It's really just to give him time to really process it all while you explain it to him.

-First one he blames is himself no matter what you say. It takes him a while to forgive/realize he isn't at fault.

-He doesn't want you gone from his life but he finds it hard to be around you.

-He still finds you attractive but there is a hollow feeling about it. He doesn't get flustered around you anymore.

Xingqiu

-He had a feeling something was going on.

-Honestly, not really hurt but mostly peeved that it happened. If it was mostly your fault then he loses respect for you.

-It's one thing to read about it in his books, experiencing it actually hurts a lot.

-He doesn't want to keep a relationship at all, he's done here.

-Would rather not keep things that remind him of you, they are taking up space in his mind.

-When his mind wanders, he bitterly has day dreams of what if you never cheated.

Xiao

-Don't

-He gets hit with a wave of emotions, he can't quite organize them right then and there. But he mostly feels pain.

-He'll try to ask why you did it, thinking that maybe the bad karma was involved. When you confess that isn't the case it breaks him more.

-Might not even wait to finish the conversation before leaving. He just finds somewhere quiet to just....exist.

-After the sadness subsides, he is just a ball of rage for a while. Not against you, just rampant emotions.

-Xiao might fight until he passes out, the only way he can sleep without dreaming of you.

-It takes him the longest time to get over it.

Crazy Theory About Celestia & the Abyss (TL:DR)

What if the Abyss is actually just a garbage dump of exiled entities/useless or dangerous items/random stuff from Celestia?

This theory consists in that Celestia throws stuff that is owned by them, to the abyss.

If this was true, it could mean that the stuff thrown by them is sent to the abyss bc it is far from the human realm.

The void realm (Abyss region) and human realm (Teyvat, seven nations) are not compatible; they cannot coexist together; esch damages the other.

This could mean that the Abyss is actually a "radioactive" place for "radioactive" stuff from Celestia !

"Radioactive" stuff is harmful for humans (and also surely deities) so that's why the Abyss needs to exists (probably).

So that humans could live in Teyvat with peace.

This could kinda explain why deities from the heavens (Guizhong) and entities related to the Abyss (Dain, Childe), have similar clothes.

With similar clothes I mean the stars pattern !

Mona & Albedo also have a thematic of stars in their outfits.

Both of them search the truth of this world.

Mona is part of the Hexenzirkel, as Albedo is homunculus created by the Khaenri'ahn citizen Rhinedottir (Gold).

The Unknown God also has stars in her outfit, inside their cape.

And also Paimon does...

The used of the "radioactive" concept is thanks to a very good theory from @/Ashikai And I'll use her theory on this.

The Celestial Nails could be devices that fight the radioactive stuff from the abyss.

These nails could cleasn the land from the abyss to protect the human realm.

This would mean that the Celestial Nails are not send to the human realm with the intention of harming humans, but to protect their realm.

Of course the Nails have destroyed civilizations, this could be an small side effect 😆

But as @/Ashikai once said (iircl), the Celestial Nails could work as nuclear reactors to prevent the "radiation" from the abyss to expand itself into the human realm.
