Already seeing the doom and gloom which i can understand why the official articles are spouting it - after all they need to sell seats and subscriptions and controversy is the easiest way to do that.

But yinz on here, i thought we had mutually agreed that this was gonna be an uphill battle both ways in the snow? I dont think either sid or geno have given up, and i seriously doubt they would be willing to throw in the towel and focus on their stats instead of the team as a whole (remember when geno implied that he was happy they won on the day he got his 500th goal because that is much more satisfiying? Poor sid is now living out the opposite of that scenario), and yinz cant declare these two's careers over before it actually is.

like geno is still playing like geno - looking even stronger than last year i would argue, and not at all like a washed out 38yr old. He still got that hat trick in the preseason for goodness sake. And we saw last year sid can still play to the best of his almost ageless abilities even on a struggling team. remember everyone else is just waiting to pounce on the moment when sid and geno are officially 'over' and they can write 50000 think pieces about why old people can't play hockey anymore. but the game is always changing, and past eras never saw anyone like geno or sid, and unless you are geno and sid there is no way of knowing just how done they are.

i mean i remember this time last year i was silently mocking the caps for being the worst team in the league and celebrating the end of that annoying number 8 and look what happened there 😂

So I'm the anon that asked about the pants and based off the links you provided, I do think we are just creating drama and I feel bad. I went back and watched the 500 goal tribute, Kathy is there. (I don't know if I'm posting the link right, but Pens Central has the 500 goal tribute on their youtube and at the 2:06 mark Kathy is shown at the game.) The camera man just focuses on mostly his parents and to be fair Kathy is standing well out of view for most of it, but as the tribute video ends, she clearly is there bending down to sit. So not sure if she arrived late or maybe her and Sid do have an agreement and she stepped deliberately out of screen.

As for the 500 games Geno and Letang not taking a picture with Kathy and the family (who wasn't there), again, they were all wearing masks so probably trying not to cross contaminate. NHL was so weird about what was ok and wasn't with COVID. Group pictures? Bad. Holiday parties? Apparently ok until everyone got it. Bleh.

I think the drama is fun to a point but we might be reaching a bit. Though the fact that no one told Kathy that she had salt marks on her jeans maybe does show that they don't like her. And I could see them potentially having some sort of agreement where Kathy looks the other way with Sid, but I think technically she's at legit of a girlfriend as any of the other WAGs but just gets more hate.

Yes, she was in the stands during 500th goal (2022) with Crosby family. But she was not at the ceremony in honor of this!

Oh Lord! Seriously! You have confused events and key facts. He could have invited her, she didn't have to wear a mask, they would have celebrated in a stadium full of spectators!

And Kane's ceremony was in the same time frame as the 1000 Crosby Game ceremony (2021). Probably the same rules for everyone.

It's 11:04 in the late morning and I'm still emotional over Sidney Crosby's special night. Still emotional about Geno getting the only assist on his 500th goal. Still emotional over Tanger scoring the OT GWG. Still emotional over how the 3 of them, together, continue to prove that they are they best core in this entire league. Still emotional over Chad Ruhwedel scoring his first goal in so long to tie up the game 'cause like hell he was gonna let his Captain lose on his special night. Still emotional over how the whole Pittsburgh Penguins team rushed the ice to celebrate Sid. And still emotional over how they all rushed the ice again to celebrate the win like it was the fucking Stanley Cup Final. God I love the Pittsburgh Penguins 🖤💛

Re: Geno’s wonderful heroic assist to *checks notes* Seedny’s 500th goal was last year in February 15th. But really jokes aside it was a special moment, sid’s parents were there (and they kept following him for a couple of games to make sure they witness it ;-;) and according to Tanger all the guys were passing to him wanting him to get the goal, and geno’s was the one to finally do it. They were all so excited ;-; <3 Oh, and it was against the flayers lol

That is totally awesome for sid ^_^ but also isnt it a little silly to be passing just to one person to hit a point milestone? Like wouldnt that make it easier to predict plays for the opposing team?

I dunno these sports people are so obsessed with stats i dont get it. Might be why i like breadman so much, he doesnt celebrate the tallies so much, he didnt get drafted, his nhl numbers are technically 'behind' anybody else of equivalent age in the league for cumulative things like games played but whatever.... he just IS good. You know? Thats more my style i guess.

ANYWAY malkin saying all these nice things in the gif set video and im just like 'SMILEY!' and 'DIMPLES!' so please give no weight or importance to my opinion :P
