do i generally think both ponyboy and johnny are queer? yeah. but i dont "ship it" cause i think theyd be better as like lifelong besties and have that like queer solidarity TM where they can talk about dating/boyfriends/etc without worrying. like its their "can talk to the other about anything" dynamic taken to another level. like johnny teases pony for being too shy to dance with a guy at a party and ponyboy tears into him for having heart eyes for dallas fucking winston of all people.
